Madhu woke up somewhere at 3 in the night. She saw Maya sitting next to her. All worried. Maya came up to her.

I saw you sleeping so I did not disturb you. You look so messed up Madhu. What's wrong?

Madhu found the comfort in Maya's voice. She put her head in her lap and started to cry. Maya kept on asking '

What happened? Is everybody fine at home? Are you sick? Do u want something? Didi somebody tease you? Is it Dylan?

Madhu suddenly looked up and Maya understood. She saw Maya's face turn from consoling to anger.

Why are you crying? For a guy? Are you serious Madhu? I mean look at yourself! You are beautiful, pretty , intelligent, honest, committed. And you are crying? It's not your loss.. Its his' Why don't you get it..? He like you first' you did not. You are different.

But he said I am not his kind of girl..

Yeah.. so? he said it right. You are not. He wants a girl totally different from you. And you want to be somebody totally different that what you are just to be with him. And then you are suffocated in a relationship. And then you will have a breakup. Your objective to enter this college was not to be with Dylan it was to study.

Suddenly Madhu recovered from her pain. She felt light and good. She understood what Maya said. And was glad, she still had Maya with her. She smiled.

Now, that you look fine, Change that damn traditional dress. Slip into some light nightwear. Drink some water and splash on your face as well and sleep.

Madhu woke up feeling refreshed. The next morning she completely ignored Dylan. Dylan kept on making attempts to talk to her but she refrained.

Madhu saw RAY enter the class to teach the subject. He looked as if he had not slept the entire night. He seemed worried.

Ray observed the two very good students of his class were not sitting together anymore. Madhubala and Dylan Shekhawat were sitting at the opposite corners of room. He noticed a strange air about Madhubala that day, something very confident.

He was teaching the lesson when suddenly the peon came and said he had to come something urgent with his mother. RK understood. He left the class in such a hurry that Madhu too followed. RK when reached home saw her mother in a critical situation. He called the ambulance but suddenly heard his mom coughing very bad. Before he could rush he saw Madhu tend to her mother. RK and Madhu looked at each other and Madhu nodded.

They both rushed her to the hospital. Some other lecturers to joined in. Madhu stayed at the hospital till RK's mother did not get stable. When the doctors said she would be under observation for sometime, RK chose to sit at the waiting lounge. He was thinking all that happened in his life in the past few days.

Suddenly a cup of coffee appeared from somewhere. He turned and saw Madhubala standing. He was surprised to see her.

I thought you left with other teachers.! You are still here ??

Yeah Sir, I thought you might need some help.

She sat down next to RK and handed him his coffee cup.

They silently drank their cup of coffee when suddenly Madhu asked, Sir where is you wife? I mean if you want I can inform her. I mean in a hurry we forgot to inform her.

RK stiffened. Madhu saw the most cold expression on RAY's face.

She won't come. We are separated now. She lives in USA and I signed my divorce papers last night which are already posted to her.

OMG!! RAY is divorced. He seems so silent, nobody knows what happens in his life. He must be going through a lot. And yet he looks so composed. And look at me a small problem and I am shattered.

Sir I am sorry.. I should not have asked.

"Its ok. Madhubala." Rk had eased by now. Lavanya and me never loved each other. We were different.. I think you should leave now. Its late. Do you want me to drop you?

NO sir! I am fine.

I'll drop her sir.

Suddenly both Rk and Madhu turned back to see Dylan standing there. RK saw Madhu's expression change and she stiffened.

Hello Dylan.

Hello Sir, How is your mom doing sir?

She is still critical and under observation.

They all stood in silence and Dylan offered to drop Madhu and said he is waiting in parking lot.

Madhu started to walk away when suddenly RK asked, "Why were you crying last night?"

Not crying sir, I told you I had cold.

So the name of cold you are suffering from is called Dylan?

Madhu understood what RK meant. She moved her face away from RK and nodded. Tears had welled up in her eyes.

Are you sure you want to go with him. I can drop you if you want.

Madhu wiped her tears and looked back and smiled. I'll be fine sir. You should be with your mother. Thanks for the offer."

Goodnight Sir. Saying this Madhu walked fast away from RK.

The decline of Madhu pinched somewhere RK very hard. She was a good girl Rk knew that. RK felt very uneasy. So much was happening.

wow..its awesome..loved this FF..Dylan looks lil complicated to me whereas RAY though genius has been bogged down due to commitments...hope Madhu can notice the difference...is RAY developing any feelings for Madhu??? Do continue soon. ur FF is very different and interesting😊.do pm me if pos.
