You are right, hate is a pretty strong word.

I don't hate Sultan but his character just plain irritates me and I pray daily to TV Gods for his exit from the show. I never could trust a guy who is too goody goody or changes in the blink of an eye from being a gangster who points a gun every 2 mins at a woman (which he did 3-4 times when he entered) to giving advice on how a woman is to be treated. Also the CVs trying to shove the goodness of Sultan and Sulbala down our throats everyday does not encourage RK and Rishbala fans to give him a chance and appreciate the character. I am sure he has a lot of good qualities, but being a RK fan i guess I just plain refuse to see those. Leaving a few people who truly look at both the characters with an objective eye, every fan has that unique quality of turning a blind eye to the good qualities of the other character, the bad qualities just seem to jump out and shout look at me look at me, hence the wonderful complimentary posts that we find in the forum 😆

If we are talking about real life, I have yet to find a guy who would waste 6 months of his life on a revenge by marrying or contract marrying a girl and treating her like a princess (after the spot and studio incident of course) and also saving her from death and not consummating the relationship. What happens in real life in the name of revenge we all know.

Yes I am one of those who would always want Rishbala, I hate third wheels in a show and in real life too. I am not even going to try and justify RK for all the humiliations and his devil may care attitude regarding those, he was wrong and he will have to suffer and pay for those and yea to me RK is still redeemable

PS. Sorry if I was rude in any way, just trying to put forward my POV.
PSS. Sorry for the long post too

I didn't find your comment rude in any way. I'm glad you explained your viewpoint so clearly. I am beginning to understand the division of this forum. You are right I can't expect everyone to look at the characters objectively. This is down to the individual person. The CV's have done a marvellous job brining out RK's bad qualities which I can't ignore even if I wanted to. First impressions on Indian TV series between a male and female character are rarely ever good. Sultan and Madhu are no different. Him using his son as bait isn't really an act of heroism. He pointed the gun at Madhu because she was running away with his son (unknowingly) and then she called him handicap. These were all first impressions but then he got to know her as time went by and has tried to help her when she is in trouble. Likewise Madhu got to know Sultan and began to appreciate him after originally disliking him. This is one of the reasons why I like Sultan-Madhu scenes. If they would have shown RK and Madhu after RK was redeemed I wouldn't mind seeing them together. But that's not what happened. So just like you and I'm sure others feel "irritated" with Sultan and Sulbala, I feel irritated watching Rishabala. I still enjoy watching RK scenes whether they are with Deepali or Bittuji. It's just that I can't stand his behaviour and the "let's forget everything that happened in our little nok jok and go back to being husband and wife" attitude.

As for real life, we don't know everything that does around in marriages. Be it contract marriage, plotting revenge for 6 months, pretending to love your wife saving her from death and not consummating etc. But knowing very well that the woman you have been playing has completely fallen for you and is ready to leave behind everything including her family to be with you, and then shattering her like we all show on-screen. Not just that, expecting her to remain broken hearted and humiliating her again and again is out right emotional abuse. I hope no one ever finds a guy who treats a girl like RK treated Madhu (during and after the revenge track). Like I said in my post, this is a fiction show so it's certain that CV's will eventually bring Rishabala together. I just feel now is not the right time because RK hasn't accepted all his mistakes he is just trying to turn back time which is impossible. In the meantime, amidst this negativity Sultan and Aryan make this show feel bearable, hence I enjoy his scenes with Aryan or Madhu.

Very nice post !!

But you know if I don't like (hate) Sultan, is only because if people on this forum !
In fact I could have liked him a lot, but people on this forum permanently talking about SulBala, comparing him to RK, and bashing RK (and some even bashed VD and RK's fans) obviously it lead to hatred !!

I'm really sad to say that I just can't bear Sultan !

I was a RishBala fan, but now I'm only RK fan and Madhu fan, but I would never be able to accept SulBala ! I may leave the show definitely if it happens !

Totally disagree with you. Nobody understands RK and what he has gone through in his life. He loved Madhu so much because she was different from all the people who betrayed him. She thought about she brought so much changes on him. Love them so much. As his wife Madhu should understand why RK did this. I am sorry but in real life especially in our culture Indians there are wife's who return to their husbands no matter what the husband do be it torture, abuse and etc...
By teaching RK she is going to hurt him more deeply than what he has done to her

Amazing post. And you have echoed my thoughts. The thing is, this blame game will go on forever without any proper end or solution. RK fans will blame Sultan fans, and Sultan fans will blame RK fans for bashing each other. But no one will admit their mistakes. We say that we shouldn't mix reel with real life but then why do we get so emotional when it comes to these characters that we are ready to rip each others throats out if something is said against them? The actual problem is that sometimes, people forget to differentiate between an "actor" and a "character" and that's where all the fights start. Now I am not calling all SulBala fans saints, but I have come across so many posts that are not only bashing Sultan, but bashing Avinesh Rekhi, the actor who plays the role too. I just don't understand why they feel the need to drag an actor in the middle of all this? He is just doing his job. Before Sultan's entry, this show and forum were ruled by RK's character and his fans only as there was no other apparent male competitor. But after his entry, those who admired Sultan's character over RK's started voicing their opinions and that didn't go down well with some people. And gradually, the number of his fans increased and are still increasing. I don't see why it is so wrong to like another character. Is there some unspoken rule that only those who were in the show from the beginning deserve all the appreciation? Avinesh entered the show after a year of it being aired and has already managed to win so many hearts as Sultan so I think that in itself speaks for the actor and the character. If only people would learn to argue in a healthier way. I completely second your points on hating his character without any apparent reasons. I really liked RK's character in the beginning and found him quite entertaining. But now I just get bored because his scenes and dialogues are too monotonous for my liking. Vivian is doing an amazing job but it's the character's antics that are not appealing me. I understand people can really like, even love an actor/character, but blindly worshiping them is wrong. If you don't like a certain actor/character, let it be. Instead of bashing them, wouldn't it be better if they just stick to liking and admiring their favorite? A show cannot be run by just one character no matter how huge his/her fan following may be. Once again, fantastic post !!

I love your post and i agree with everything.

my personal belief is that actors have become more powerful than their character. if a negative comment is made toward a character, it's assumed the comment is toward the actor.

no one seems to realize what a fab job they r doing.

VD to play RK requires talent and he's the best bad bad boy.
DD plays Madhubala like she was born for this role.
AR with his hot looks, his amazing talent made us love Don/Bhai. A gangster with soul.
