@priya: I don't know but I am still having a hard time comprehending what went down. Rk just crossed the line of redemption ...essentially he was inhumane. However we as viewers were privy to his care and concern for Madhu...all those time he asked Bittuji to take care of Madhu (when Madhu was not there), him missing Madhu, him taking care of Madhu's family or boasting in front of Dips, his sharing his innermost feelings with Madhu so it becomes even hard to imagine all this was for that 4 measly slaps. How does he know that Madhu will survive this and come out stronger? Was it worth it?...well we will know soon enough.
He was bracing himself yesterday for something ...now we know what but I am more interested now in understanding why? Maybe I am blind but I still saw flashes of love in his eyes today. He utters that he set Madhu free and then backsoff to say he set himself free.
From where I stand this has nothing to do with stardom track and more to do with the couple understanding each other. We have constantly said that Madhu seems to have no comprehension of what makes RK. She sees inherent good in everyone and opens up her heart to them. Loving someone is not necessarily understanding them. She has no selfdoubt at any point while Rk is all about self doubt. From his perspective he is tainted with evil and everyday is a fight for him. Madhu might be his light but he is darkness in her life. From his perspective she suffers from stockholm syndrome and he is bound to drag her down with him sooner or later. She has everything that he envies or has ever wanted- a loving family, a good heart but she is ready to trade all that for him who is he believes is worth nothing. The problem is that she is not willing to let him go no matter what and so he has to do something so evil that she walks away from him and erases him from her life. He just accomplished that...I have an odd feeling he has underestimated Madhu's craziness.
I have never had stomach for ugliness and dark melodrama so I guess I will read the summaries now before watching the show.

He has done something so abhorrent that no one will ever love him or trust him (Madhu, Maliks, Radha, Bittuji , his fans). Everyone wil rally behind Madhu. He has essentially destroyed himself but to what pupose remains to be seen.He is indeed left with scotch, chicken and memories of her true love.
If I had to come up with a plausible reason ...I would fall back on Shri and leela's analysis of Rk's character. It all lies in his perception of himself, his inherent selflessnes, his self destructive psyche, his obsessive love for Madhu and his way of crossing all the limits to get what he wants.
RK reminds me constantly of complex character of Mr Gold from "Once upon a time" and Madhu "Belle" (a spin on beauty and the beast).
However it will be a tough sell to masses...who are used to simpler reasons and intrigues.

I did read Shri and Leela's analysis of RKs character. Wonderful insight. 👏
However, general masses(here I mean TRP audeinces) abhor such characters as it is beyond their understanding. Forget general masses, I feel so taken aback myself at times thinking of his self-destructive psyche. His character would become completely unrealistic and distant for the public. I believe this might eventually result in them alienating themselves from the show.

My mom was never following this show, but she saw a couple of episodes during Balraj track and we ended up landing on this topic when we were discussing about a few other shows. We had a length discussion over the entire show, and I briefed her with the story so far and also with RK's character. She was like, 'this is the show you follow so religiously and you are intrigued by this man?'😆 😆 I tried to convince her that the story line is really good, so please try and watch. She was like, NO!!

As for Madhu forgetting RK, from what I have understood of Madhu's character I don't think she will be able to get over him ever. As much as we all are for her to never go back to him, we know that is not going to happen. By means of some convoluted plot and story telling, we will end up seeing them together again.

Ananya, hopefully that will be in two weeks.😳😊

Anyway, TRP audiences are usually in favour of wife forgiving husband, especially if he was just pretending to be bad, for whatever reason.

They may be bitter while the bad-guy drama is going on, but once the reveal is done, they move with it.

The problem is that MEIEJ is not catering to the TRP audiences who would already have understood the characters enough to go with the twist and wait for his act to be revealed.

Excellent write up Puja. 👏
@bold: You are not alone there. There was unmistakable love in his eyes even today. I mentioned it in my review as well.

Do some of you really feel he is actually taking revenge? I felt it was quite obvious that he is putting up an act today.

nice review leel. i dont know if i ever want Madhu forgiving RK now. Your justification of the five times he risks his life is good but not good enough.

Absolutely amazing write-up👏. You have said all that I felt and more.
This an immense mess from every perspective...I can't even begin to imagine how Madhu will clean it up when she stumbles upon the truth if she ever does.

Puja, Ananya, great points.👏⭐️

Ananya, it was damn obvious.😳😊
And if RK had actually wanted revenge, he could have either left her there in the middle of the night or taken her to maayka or sasuraal and *not* made a speech making himself look like a villain. First scenario, she would have had a dreadful time getting to either of her homes in that mental state. And she was unlikely to tell anyone what all he had just said, whether she got back home on her own or with him.
He didn't just tell Padmini in private, and have the chawl wondering how long Madhu was back for.
He announced it to everyone in a way that made him seem a wretch, and ensured that they would all sympathize with Madhu.
