Rishbala - A love both gentle and fierce.

Rishbala's love is truly a magnificent instance of the phrase 'a many-splendoured thing', deceptively fragile in appearance but standing on an absolute mutual footing of ferocious protectiveness, wounding flaws and hearts mirroring each other in sheer depth of anguish and joy.😳

The couple's track as it unfolded in fabulously mesmerizing depth in eps 28th (Monday) and 29th (Tuesday) January 2013 - a superb composite follow-up to the 26th January (Saturday) maha-episode - was definitively exceptional.😳⭐️

Madhu was feeling every support she relied on inadvertently withdrawn for some reason or the other - her mother in shocked silence, her father seeking to alleviate with conciliatory courtesy what anger would not help, and her husband absent and later learned to have been hurt badly enough to get hospitalized.

RK actually needing hospitalization after his heroics was a very good touch.😊

He had been twice struck down badly enough for two miracle-associated resurrections by way of Madhu during the duration of just that one day.

That he managed to continue the fight for her life was the third miracle.😳

His getting hospitalized was a much-needed step off the full-throttle melodrama stage.😊

Generally, however much the hero gets hurt, it's only the heroine who gets care.πŸ˜•

So this is yet another point where MEIEJ is off the beaten path.πŸ˜ƒ

Another perfect characterization point tangential to Rishbala was Bittuji feeling frantic at needing to stick with his 'bhabhiji' for the legal crisis while his 'Chief' was hurt enough to need hospitalization.😊

But the inspector's brusqueness in dealing with Padmini and those with her despite seeing the circumstances in which she shot Balraj felt like a glitch, trying to hammer home that this was a crisis.πŸ˜•

Madhu dithering between remaining to support her apparently catatonic mother in the lock-up or rushing to RK in the hospital seemed not adequately meant, as if she just needed someone to insist her husband needed her more so that she could hurry to him and ease her terror of just how bad a condition he might be in rather than stay with her traumatized but healthy mother.πŸ˜•πŸ˜³

Entirely understandable considering the kind of life-perils she had seen her husband go through by that point.😳

Madhu reciting the 'meri maa ke sahaare' version of the prayer to Radha this time, and also the previous day to Padmini, but opting for the 'mere RK ke sahaare' version while exhorting to and for RK indicates that this is yet another part of her feelings for her husband that she is not willing to share - not with her mother or his mother.😳😊

It is this possessiveness thread that runs rampant and extensive through Madhu's love for RK, making her love not something docile or submissive but proud and formidable.πŸ˜³πŸ˜ƒ

He is hers, and since he *wants* to go away with her, she feels free to - at least for a while - have him and every facet of her feelings and relationship entirely to herself.😳

The interaction between Madhu and RK in the hospital, commencing in the 28th Jan. ep and continuing in the 29th Jan. ep, was exquisitely etched.😳

They both just bypassed all other stages and went for "everything is my fault", RK mentally and Madhu aloud.😳

There was no thought for themselves. Both were tormented by the immediate illogical anguish for being the reason the other person had to endure on Balraj's account.😳

Madhu's anguish at RK's distancing himself from her, and RK's guiltridden silence.

But Madhu has come a long way from the time when she had asked the inspector why RK couldn't bring himself to apologize for the hit-and-run.😊

She knows now that even with guilt, he can't just say a simple 'sorry'.

Not because he's incapable of overwhelming remorse (though it is not an emotion he easily gives in to) but because he considers 'sorry' and 'thanks' the easy way out.πŸ˜•

Self-flagellation and destroying himself bit by bit or rendering huge assistance secretly is his preferred option.

And it has already been a long time now that Madhu has had a very good idea just how devastating RK's resigned acceptance of guilt can get when he is doing his self-destructive tormented version of 'sorry'.😊

Madhu's innocence is precious, but her gradually developing shrewdness is a delight to see.πŸ˜ƒ

Her focussed attention, her gaze sharpening, when Trishna started to shift the blame onto RK, and then her leading statements to RK in the mode of "It's your fault" to get him to admit outright what she had already realized was the problem...😳 Awesome.😊

This time - with her mother just as much in need of her support as before -, Madhu didn't dither for even a moment before racing back to her husband instead.πŸ˜•πŸ˜Š

Perhaps she knew well which situation was the more likely to deteriorate with every passing moment.😳

When she emotionally gets to the reflexive level, she can't think or care much about anything besides RK, especially not if he's hurting.😳

Trishna's words completely unintendedly made Madhu realize that since her husband is the opposite of Trishna and will blame himself even for something that's not his fault if anyone he cares about gets hurt, so he had been blaming himself even in the hospital when he sent her to be with her mother.

Many times Madhu has endured and accepted Trishna's hurtful words out of sisterly love.

But this time, it was not for that reason that she left Trishna unanswered.

Getting back to the person she loves most and stopping *his* anguish was so much more important than any other consideration of anger or retaliation that Trishna might as well not have existed.😳

This was the third time RK had turned again to drink after letting that habit go, and it is the second time that the reason was his belief that he had lost Madhu.😭

Yet again, Rishbala's soulmate factor was in evidence - two people whose reactions might vary in many matters, and their reactions to emotions assuredly vary greatly, but they have near-identical emotional reactions to the thought of each other in peril or even hurt.😳

Even the thought that he had indirectly hurt Madhu was unbearable for RK, and the thought of him hurting was unbearable for Madhu.😳

Rather ironic that RK could hold himself that much to blame for something that was in no way his fault, while Trishna blamed herself *not even a whit* for having deliberately endangered her family for her ambition.πŸ˜•

Shamsher's, Madhu's and Bittuji's disbelieving contemptuous disgust at Trishna's brazenness about her selfish decision's resultant nightmare and her attempt to frame RK was palpable.

RK didn't know Balraj. Trishna *did* know her murderous psychopath father, and she made a choice to not inform her family.

Madhu almost *died*. And first RK *almost* killed Balraj, and then Padmini *did* kill Balraj.

Her sister almost hanged, and her mother with blood on her hands.Ouch And Trishna still didn't think she was wrong to endanger her family for her own gain.🀒

Her trying to shift the blame onto RK and saying he maliciously brought Balraj back into their lives simply proved that this girl does not deserve even assisted good luck.

And the Trishna-easily-forgiven debacle in ep 30th January (Wednesday) perhaps inadvertently made one thing clear.

Trishna, Dipali or even Radha (should she revert to form and turn this into merely a brief respite) will only ever be made to pay if they actually not only try but succeed to some extent in harming RK.

Madhu - and everyone else - will probably pardon the three women anything upto and including harming Madhu.πŸ˜‘πŸ˜•

And RK is restricted in his ability to strike harshly against any of the three by the fact that firstly they are all women, and secondly and more importantly that one of them (his mother) is dear to him and to his wife, one (Trishna) is dear to his wife and parents-in-law, and one (Dipali) is a domino who can have a cascading calamity effect on his mother's 'perfect family' delusion.

Madhu is the only one who can make them pay, because she's the only one who will not be sufficiently withheld by any other concern in reacting to *that* particular sort of wrong.😳😊

Wonder if RK had actually ended up in more prolongedly critical condition because of the Balraj disaster, would Madhu have forgiven her 'Didu' then? Really don't think so.😳

Madhu forgave her adored father Shamsher only when RK persuaded her to.

Forgiving yet another person for hurting RK is going to be a mountain too high for her.

She may or may not end up taking drastic action, but she will corrode that individual's position at least in regard to herself in some way as response.

In all the underhanded manipulative upheaval so far, the one point that everything hinged on was Madhu and the fact that this girl does not just pay lipservice to cliched claims about having faith in her love and her marriage in the most adverse and testing situations.😳

Had she wavered even a little in concert with or reaction to her husband's insecurities about their love, it would have been victory on a silver platter for those within their own families that would rejoice to see this couple torn up.😳

By not even permitting an apology from her husband, Madhu invariably shakes up the villains' plans and places herself at a formidably indomitable level.πŸ˜³πŸ˜ƒ

First Dipali (with deliberate aim) and then Trishna (ignorant and just hoping to hit target) tried to dent the relationship, but where each managed to shake RK in the one matter where he is vulnerable (his belief that he will always lose whomever he loves), Madhu was the point at which they found absolute failure to their spite.😊

Trishna cursed Rishbala's future both to RK and to Madhu in two separate encounters.

But where those malicious words lingered in RK's mind as a potential 'prophecy' waiting to re-enact his experience of always losing love, Madhu seeing that curse potentially working into fruition after the love-confession's immediate aftermath simply became unyieldingly determined to preserve her love and her marriage.😳😊

Likewise Dipali's gloating confidence was thoroughly crushed and smashed into the finest smithereens as she found that when it comes to guarding the citadel that is her love and her marriage, Madhu is indeed effectively different from her husband in the one matter where he is most easily struck at.😊

She did not warn, she simply made obvious the other's failure and absolute absence of standing in the matter of Madhu's and RK's relationship.πŸ˜ƒ

And where Madhu maintaining estrangement with RK would have given Dipali opportunity to gloat, her ending the estrangement the very next time she saw her husband ensured her own happiness immediately restored, and also - though inadvertently - showed Dipali the sheer futility of ever trying such a stratagem between the couple again.😳😊

Madhu's attitude to flaws instigated or induced in her husband has the very happy effect of making those 'relatives' who wish her and her marriage ill gnash their teeth.πŸ˜³πŸ˜ƒ

It is RK's one truly debilitating weakness that Madhu compensates fiercely for, drawing her own strength from the knowledge of his worth as a person that he himself does not comprehend, and the happiness she has in their love for each other outweighing all else.πŸ˜³πŸ˜ƒ

These two think nothing of any extent they go to for each other, each holding onto the other's love as a talisman.

And for Madhu, it is a dearly held knowledge that while she proclaims her love for RK with ease, the ease with which he now smiles and laughs in her presence untinged by bitterness is entirely because of her.😳

She knows that *she* is all that is joy for him, and it is a tribute of greater worth to her than if he were to reciprocate with frequent verbal expression just how much she means to him.😳

Her love for him is as a wondrous dream for him, and thence the fear of loss, for he knows not how to hold on.😳

But for her, his love and their relationship is her reality and her world, and to defend and preserve that she would fight against others and even against his own insecurities, valuing that even his flaws are from less thought of self than the virtues of most.😳😊

There is a strangely precious possessiveness in these two that each may even let the other get hurt if by so doing, they may not be parted.😳

RK is overt about it but only when driven to a point, whereas Madhu - though less overt - is far more unapologetically certain that she will permit nothing and no one to get between them.😳

It is not a love in which either considers the other as separate, but rather with each considering the other truly that other half of their heart without whom they are incomplete.

What a detailed analysis!!! And so beutifully written! hats off to u leela! btw is literature ur sub by any chance? ur writing is too good!

the contrasting chr of madhu n RK u have sketched it so well. RK's insecurity over his love, the belief that he'll lose it versus d strength n belief madhu has in her love is really beautiful to see. i simply loved that one dialogue of madhu 'kis baat ki maafi'. in that one line, she restores hope in RK that he is stunned.

i am loving d way the love is shown between these two chrs. its even better than fallin in love phase.
