Lovely post!Passionately intensely written! 👏👏
Just a point - you say RK took to drink thrice after Madhu threw his liquor away.
First an aside to exclaim how shocking it was even at that stage that he succumbed to her orders! after all Superstar RK is not incapable of restocking a bar but he toed the line, smiling a secret triumphant smile, delighted that someone had come along after all... to care, to scold, to take him in hand and make him turn his degenerating life around. Even at that stage, egoistic Rishabh Kundra found the perspective to grin in genuine amusement and ask for a glass of milk.
Since then RK has, as far as I remember, drunk on four occasions:
1) the night after he tells her about his past and then shies away from her, going to sleep on the couch
2) after the love confession, in the studio after he's decided she doesn't love Rishabh enough to leave everything
3) in the car after their argument and she tells him she can't trust his love anymore
4) recently, after the Balraj Bomb, in the dread that she would leave him when she knew the truth
And you're right, at least on three occasions, it was because he thought he was going to or had lost her. Even the first occasion, if you read it that way, was a manifestation of the same fear - that what she felt for him was pity, daya --- which, however tender, doesn't amount to love.
It is a wonderful love story indeed. And although it was RK who forcibly cemented it, driven by God knows what instinct, it is now Madhu mostly who fights off the enemies.
Actually RK did it too - the day after the love confession, he overcame his own demons and self pity to see Madhu's situation so clearly. And so terrified was he with Trishna's curse that he came speeding to Madhu to tell her: 'Humein koi alag nahin kar sakta. Hum hamesha saath rahenge."
He is the more vulnerable of the two emotionally - he has many buttons that CAN be pushed and people around who know how to push them but he is fast coming to terms with his new found love and relationship - and the fact that it is not negotiable, not for anyone else to have a say in.
