I don't remember the episode. But I do remember there was a mention of their marriage being legal. That is why I came up with this point and then Leela too said the same.

he wanted to torture her..and he knew Madhu can never pay him back those 40 lakhs so she'll be tied in this unwanted rishta forever..i've seen shamsher wala scene a lot of times...it was just a silly contract...if it was b/w Madhu n RK, it made more sense, but he took Shamsher's thumb print on it , just to make him feel that he "sold" his daughter..it was mentioned that during this period Madhu will live with him as his wife but that doesn't make her his legal wife...😕 7 phere n all tht crap is for both of them ...he's guilty and she's happy tht he's guilty 😆 Madhu has always remained a passive player of this game..he destroyed her, he married her on his conditions, he loved her , again on his conditions, now he wants to marry her properly before taking the next step 😆 Madhu being a haanji type biwi made him go on his knees😛 🤣

rk knows he has married mb out of disrespect

and by insulting her
saying that madhu is like her mother
who marries one but likes another

so a proper marriage and then suhaagraat is respect
that he has for her now

on papers they are not husband and wife
and if they have ahem
then the word is live in relationship

Good post! i always knew it, ki he will remember the bhishma pitamaha kasam, but did'nt expect him to tie the dori at break neck speed. 😆

Madhu knows him too well...did anyone notice even in the Radha song at the sangeet, as she comes towards him..the lines going on are...hoga tu lakhon dil ka chor, hamka to laage bore😆

@Ananya and Charu: Have you seen the episode where Madhu pours down all the bottles of alcohol? In that particular scene, Madhu mentions that he has made her his wife, too (according to the document). Legally based on whatever was written in that contract (other than payee and payer relationship between RK and Shamsher), there must have been something about these two being husband and wife. The basis on which Madhu challenged him.

it was a contract..i saw tht whole scene a few mins back..she was reading it out n also reminded him ke "mujhe sirf biwi bola nahi hai, banaya hai, mangalsutra pehna ke"..before that, RK read it out to Shamsher ke he's giving 40 lakhs to shamsher , in return, he's giving his daughter to RK...but a contract is not a substitute to a marriage certificate...n acc. to customs he didn't marry her properly by taking 7 phere ...this way, if two ppl. have to marry, will they make a legal contract?

the point is, aise hi nahi, he promised her, therez a logical reason behind it...they cud have stayed together as husband wife without any rituals etc. (padmini and shamsher were living together for 20 years without marriage or rishta) but since he made a mockery of marriage , they made him promise Madhu , and consummation will wait..it'll make all the middle age aunties happy 😆...mainly to please the Indian audience , they will get to drag the story also with it...

@Charu: The original story is about Madhubala's journey to becoming a star and how RK puts the spotlight on her and the love story. I am more eager to see that part of the story and not wedding and consummation scenes, to be honest (as they are not at all important at the moment).

Confession, wedding and the so called consummation scenes (of Indian TV show) slow down the story and it's a downhill ride after that. Confession and the appeal wanes after that. It is not only an Indian phenomenon but it's a problem of the TV shows all across the world. There is an interesting article on that : "Moonlighting curse." 😊

very right ! tht's why i'm very patient with the story 😆 personally i'm extremely happy with the progress... the marriage and consummation will come with time and MB team should create a hype around it ..
