I ranted on this earlier too. They couldn't see how to move the show forward so decided to do this. The heroine track will be used only when the show is in its final leg, I think. After all once she becomes a a superstar the original premise will be over, so what will be there to be shown?

The way I see this going in...

RK sees Madhu on daily basis...both relive thier memories...both yearn for each other but show indifference. Rk eventually realizes he did love Madhu but threw his chance away...We can see several variations of jealousy track, protection track. He has a very short fuse. (looking at 20-30 episodes)

Now we kick off redemption track...RK wants to confess his feeling but is unable to ...He makes sure that she is contantly around him. Madhu understands him but does not trust him...She is impacted by his proximity though...Dips throws tantrums...she is caught in her game ...she is thrown out. Madhu might even protect/help Rk at some point... Madhu might even end up playing cameo role in some movie. She is getting increasingly frustated with RK 's hot and cold attitude and wants to walk away. RK is finding it increasingly difficult to focus on his work...his career is headed downhill. (looking 30-40 episodes)

Rk realizes he need to do something drastic to win Madhu...Radha sells the RK- Madhu marraige to reluctant maliks. We take a detour to Mohan Kundra's death and dream. RK launches a movie with reluctant Madhu (either under the pretext of fulfilling his father's dream or paying the 40 lakhs). He uses the romantic movie to woo Madhu and finally ends up winning her. We might see some intrigue, sibling rivalry and dirty politics from Dips. The secret of Mohan Kundra's suicide is out... (40-60 episode).

The movie that was supposed to be RK's wooing project turns out to be a hit and Madhu becomes a superstar...now we have kicked of superstar track in full form.
