As a contrast, I started thinking about the only three Pakistani serials I've watched - Dhoop Kinarey (an old old series - where the woman was a doctor); Humsafar - where the woman is an Applied Math major, then becomes a teacher; and finally, a show I'm watching right now (with Madhubala) - Zindagi Gulzar Hai, where the woman is poor, but studying for the CSS (like the IAS in India), is one of the toppers in the entrance exam, and apparently as the story progresses, will continue to be an officer.

That must be fun to watch. Here they never show what profession any of the characters have, forget the education. They say business and the only business they do is sit around watching the drama unfold.

To all my wonderful writer friends here...

Just a random question. Do all the serials in indian television show heroines (leads or other females in the show) not much educated or at higher posts? I am not at all saying working in a parlor is not good. Please do not get me wrong. Any job that gives you financial independence is good and respectable but why can't the heroine be a research scientist in TIFR for a change? Is it too much to ask? Will people ban that serial completely?

Commercially it is NOT a VIABLE IDEA. Not feasible.

The TRP audience is the Indian Average Woman, watching the TV, while taking care of her kids, cooking, family, housekeeping, she is busy as hell and yet smart to juggle so many jobs at hand in her time sans the sleeping time...and for all that she does not need to be research scientist. She is someone who closely resembles Shashi of English Vinglish Movie.

Hence, have a soap heroine who is RELATABLE.

Now if you show research scientist or AD Executive or IT Professional, I as the audience would start expecting you to show me the Science Projects she is working on, the Ad ideas, jingles, office politics affecting her, The IT's escalated calls at night and working out of blackberry or remoting into office computer from your bed, with your sleeping husband besides you ...because all HI-FI jobs have professional responsibilities that affect us 24X7. We all live the professional life along with personal life. Haven't we worked for 13 to 16 hours, don't our families understand...don't we decide...that weekend is when we are gonna talk...something like that.

So now tell me...is India...the TV viewing audience ready to see all this ?

Guys, the latest promo - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1o96Mt6a6b8.😊

'Apni zindagi se RK ney Madhu ko nikala. Par kya apni yaado se mita payega?'

The tone remains hopefully ambiguous, pointing out that RK removed Madhu from his life but stating nothing of his motivation in doing so.😕😊

RK's expression is tender and not at all conflicted as he reaches out to a dream vision of Madhu while standing by an open cupboard which seems to contain some of her clothes.😳

It is only when the vision Madhu vanishes that RK draws himself back, visibly pulling himself together.
😳

He loves her, yes. But his expressions in this promo indicate that he *knows* it and is at ease in admitting it to himself.😕

So he is doing this on purpose? The jury is till out on this one. And will be till next Saturday's episode. That's when the 2 week deadline ends after all. I can't believe it's been just a week though.

I agree Leela. His expressions give a feeling that he very much comprehends his feelings for her and has no qualms in admitting them to himself. 😕

Why is he keeping her clothes around in his cupboard? Should he not have cleared his bedroom of all her things, now that she is no longer part of his life? Uski cheesen rakhne mein abhi kya fayda hai? Why not purge those as well? If this is truly a revenge, he needs to remove all the visible signs of her presence from his room, isn't it?

MM, even that framed photo of the two of them together is still on the bedroom wall the last time I saw.😊
He doesn't go getting into denial about his feelings for Madhu *except* while talking to other people.
The happy flashbacks just seem to make him sad rather than frustrated or angry for thinking about her.
He doesn't seem to mind that his own mind and heart aren't co-operating for his 'revenge'.
😕
So he may be pretending to everyone else, but it *seems* he isn't denying to *himself* about loving Madhu.😊

Agree Leela. He seems to have preserved all her things.
It doesn't make sense for him to keep any of her belongings, including the photo frame, if this is truly revenge. 🤔

I also agree with all of you about his expressions and feelings in the promo. You know, when I saw todays episode, there was a tiny moment when Dips was done with the treadmill, and right after she says "Bechari" they show RK's face, he blinks, and I thought he looked sad (it was a true blink-and-you-will-miss-it moment)

Re: the precap, I'm actually looking forward to it - love the song - although I know its going to end badly😭 . Still...

And btw - in case anyone's been missing those famous Corinthian columns, never fear, they're back in action in the song sequence 😆.
