There was this discussion on why Pads (hope its ok to call Padmini that, easier than typing Padmini) is still wearing a magalsutra..

I think that, even though she ran away from her husband, she still thinks of herself as married (dont remember his name). I remember her admonishing Trishna for asking Madhu to break up with Mukund. Pads said something like 'marriage isnt a game that you can enter into an break off at ones convenience'. For Pads marriage is something thats for life. Whatever she had gone through in her marriage, she respects the institution of marriage. Her wearing the mangalsutra is a sign of that respect. I dont think she wants to tell the world that she is married or any such stuff. All the people in colony already knows her old history. Was she ever insulted bcos she was living with Roma and Malik inspite of being married to someone else? Dont think so.

Yes, I understand what you are saying and I agree with you. Padmini believes relationships are sacred and don't break so easily
