i love d title of this thread! nice to see friends frm earlier serial! i was eager to see DD n her next serial n i was not disappointed.

i found d first epi gripping, i mean i didnt even miss DD or VD. d senior actors were awesome! zutshi, shagufta n sushmita were reallly so realistic. i dint know zutshi n such a strong negative role. initially i didnt like 'choli ke peeche' song, i thought it looked like a B grade movie song in this context. but then i thought cvs must have deliberately done it show d takur's crudeness n uncouth attitude. if u see in that angle, that kind of loud acting suits. evn d titles were old timesh.

it was very dramatic as d intention was to grab d attention of d viewer. it did succeed n dat. hope they could maintain d momentum

Hi,
I've been looking around the forum for names I could recognise and found a few familiar ones here...none of you know me...I used to be on GF but didn't interact much except for posting my views here and there.

I like the sound of this thread ...it looks like a place where you can express your true feelings without getting slapped down for them...am I right?

To the episode now...filmy, yes...so drama naturally follows. Am not one for drama or dramatics really...So, I have to admit that I felt this aspect pitched a tad high...it was to grab eyeballs, I know but, to tell the truth, if I weren't a true blue admirer of DD, I may not have lingered much.

That's not to say that I didn't like any of it...I did...

For one, it was nice to see Pallavi Subash cast in a positive role..the ones I've seen her in were positively negative. Same goes for Sushmita Mukherjee...I thought she was the best today..a lot of subtle expressions amongst a deluge of overtness in some others..good for balance, I guess.

Yes, the ganpathi dance was good and the song was upbeat.

The train sequence looked very authentic...was that a real coach or what?

It was fast-paced which is a good thing coz i really don't know if the crazy chaudry and his evil mom could have held the audience's interest long enough...die-hard DD and VD fans would stay but those whose eyeballs are necessary for trps could wander away.

I've read that many missed DD's presence but I felt that the director and the cvs did a tremendous job of keeping her and her character Madhubala in the forefront always...well,.wasn't the first episode all about her? It was all about the girl child and yes, like someone here said, how could we not remember satyamave jayate...lovely coincidence.

What disappointed me was the editing which I thought could have been tighter...there were scenes which needed editing and some which were edited out altogether...case in point...one moment the goons were looking for Padmini at the Mumbai station and couldn't find her and in the next they were running after her through the streets of mumbai...

Hope I didn't say too much...😊

I actually quite like the song, and I thought it was very apt for the situation. The man is very crude, there were times I wanted to look away from the screen due to shame. The way he kissed the dancers back in front of his wife...horrible!

It makes you wonder what misfortune struck on the young girl to cause her to marry such a tyrannical man.

P.S The dancers were terrible! Not sexy, not sensuous at all. If they could spend so much on the sets they could at least hire decent dancers.

and as for the dancers...maybe they wanted to show realistically how village dancers are

i hope that nautanki films treats this show with humour and heart..it has the potential . would love to see them spoof some of the hackneyed stereo typical Bollywood scenes and incorporate them as lighter moments in the show...yes a tribute to 100 yrs of hindi cinema is great but along with the respect for BW want to see humour and some irreverence-i mean, i loved the sholay like BG score for the credits and the initial opening scene which could have worked as a bit of black comedy if the little gal hadnt been part of it...need a very strong director to be able to pull off the irreverance... but then again, this is a GEC which caters to the masses so intelligent humour and emotions dont find a place in it...OTT and larger than life potrayals are the norm

Yes some satirical humour would be great in coming episodes as long as they don't take it over the top. As that can be offensive as well as irratating. Yeah this is larger than life portrayal, sadly I'm not a fan of masaala genres. Though I'm sure this will be a hit as the mass public love such things. I like toned down simple stories which is why GHSP worked for me.
