so it's 3.20am here, I have class in less than 5 hours but I had to post this. just caught up with all the episodes and my thoughts are kinda all over the place so please bear with me.
1) @anee. my take on Pushpa Ji and nawab sahib depends on the episode we are talking about. while nawab sahib's crush is evident, Pushpa Ji waxes and wanes every other episode. sometimes she is get irritated by his antics and sometimes it looks like she genuinely likes him. so I am more confused than anything else by their dynamic. about the age gap, I believe is just a number. that being said, a huge one of nearly twenty years, I admit, can be a little uncomfortable and hard to digest. more so because of a vast difference in worldly outlook and maturity level.
2) @deepika di. I completely agree with everything you've said about cheetah. he needs a reality check and his behaviour has been grating on my nerves (more on this later).
the only thing I interpreted differently was the hospital scene. before cheetah arrived, my masumiyat was the only one sitting on the chair with her back hunched forward and eyes trained to the floor- almost as if she felt defeated. two reasons I came up with. one, she feels guilty for not reaching haseena in time (i know Karishma did but I am talking about her own way of perceiving things) and takes it as a personal failure to keep her promise once again. second, she feels like they were in the same position as in episode 393 when Karishma told them that haseena was dead. when that scene happened, her back was hunched (even when standing) and she couldn't keep proper eye contact with anyone then too. she was also tapping her foot and pressing her palms restlessly- anxiety and fear of losing haseena again. needless to say, they all were stressed and anxious while waiting for the doctor but the sheer contrast in the positioning of the characters left me thinking that they were generally more collected than she was (they were standing above her. usually when a someone looks up at the camera placed in a high spot, we can interpret it as the character being vulnerable). when cheetah arrived (i am wondering why did he arrive later?), Karishma and him shared a quick look before she gave him a subtle nod in my masumiyat's direction. I thought that she was indicating for him to console her. previously, I discussed how despite not having any expectations from them, Karishma understands her family and what they may need- comfort in this case. honestly, it was a pretty smart way for them to showcase the character's traits (love languages) and dynamics without taking away from the tenacious atmosphere.
3) the case was pretty interesting. I thoroughly enjoyed the twists and turns throughout, from the diamond getting stolen to the fake bomb to the mastermind revelation to the climax. the stakes were high and the characters were taking the threat seriously (except for cheetah, more on this later) which caused me to them seriously. although, haseena going off to do things on her own and stupidly putting herself in danger is another classic example of, thanks for letting us in on the plan, yay teamwork! the trust she has in Karishma is there but it's selective and conditional. but the love this team has is .
so now can we please address the elephant in the room? I still feel like the confrontation is being built up. like the signs are all there, they ain't over it but aren't confronting the actual problem.
4) why was billu getting punished? was it because he scared Karishma by making her think she could have lost haseena? was it because she simply took out her bad mood on him? i am confused. someone, please clarify this for me, thank you!
but lets talk logic for a second. billu informed Karishma that there was a bomb on the car - that was absolutely true. Whether it was fake or not, how was he supposed to know? he wouldn't have appeared in front of them again if this was his doing. how could they even suspect it? this is billu the spy we are talking about. the same guy who has stayed with them for years. the same guy who rang a temple's bell till his hand bled just for the place he calls home. the same guy who has put his life on the line time and again for them. hell, he's been there for them more than cheetah has. the whole reason he snuck in the house to steal the script was to help them solve the case and save their reputation. it felt so dumb and annoying to would he be handed the short end of the stick for no damn valid reason.
5) Sonali Ji, take a bow. i died of laughter when she pretended to be Karishma. she was literally embodying Karishma. hayeee pushpee🤣i loved how everyone was trying to solve the case in their own ways.
6) Pushpa Ji can get on my nerves sometimes. especially with all her haseena Jaap, taunting Karishma and buffoonery when it comes to her job. but at the end of the day, she loves her children. she cares about their mental well being and wishes nothing but ht best for them. she proved it the second she agreed to get married just for the sake of her son and daughter in law. anyone would be lucky to have her as a mother. which is why despite being annoyed that she didn't actually get upset about this whole facade, i understood and adored her for it. its a mother heart, it can't stay mad at its child, I guess. seh chose her truth and i couldn't have been prouder.
but I felt so bad for Pushpa Ji when she confessed about the age thing and when she cried. like all of having said, it wasn't justified. ehsaas wala pyar did it because nothing came above the country and ishq main hui awari did it because nothing came above the mission. What's the difference? someone, please teach her how to apologise to people. when one is sorry they shouldn't go around explaining and justifying their actions. just admit that it was wrong and move on. if Pushpa Ji is bad at acting and could have failed the mission, hire someone else. or better yet go yourself -"ammi shaadi ke piche pardi hain" isn't an excuse to play with someone else's feelings.
it's appalling to me that Karishma went through with it. just two cases ago she held the film director's collar for calling Pushpa Ji "bhudiya". what happened to that protectiveness? being dedicated to someone and being blindsided by that dedication are two different things. but I guess for Karishma, the lines have been blurred.
6) urmilla came back again in today's episode. sigh. what is it going to take for her to be permanently gone? perhaps a chaar gante ka maun varat.
7) remember when i said that cheetosh was my comfort ship and cheetah is a respectable one-sided lover? yea, I am starting to regret it. what the hell is wrong with him? he wanted to burn the last transcript left of the book because my masumiyat might read it and they won't be together. this is not professional in the slightest. That's not some random book he picked up from the store, its official evidence for her case that he was about to destroy. the penalities go beyond just a little scolding from seniors. he could get suspended, lose his job and even be punished by law (tampering/mishandling of evidence). after that he can completely forget about my masumiyat ever choosing him as her life partner because clearly their priorities/dreams/ambitions/ethics/principles different. he should thank billu, iqbal and badnam for saving his job and potential love life.
it was extremely insensitive of him to be making my masumiyat possibly getting married about himself and his life tragedy. it's not that she doesn't want to get married to him, it's that she doesn't want to get married to anyone. commitment phobia- what does he not understand? in episode 409, he literally shoved aside his own grief so that masumiyat won't be even more saddened. that was the cheetah I adored. this person, I don't know who he is. for once, I agree with haseena's harsh treatment. that issue wasn't about him and he needed to shut the hell up. what was that running in and out of the room? learn from billu Ji who respectfully stood aside in silence knowing he couldn't help. he really needs to reevaluate his life choices because after this I really don't want Santosh to end up with him.
8) was Bhavika crying for real? because it felt so damn real. my masumiyat 😭. i know, it was intended to be a comedy but it broke my damn heart to see her crying hysterically like that. when she was punching the bag and her shoulders shook with such intensity...Bhavika takes a bow. it brings me back to my point about her coping with things in silence and or taking it out on things around her (punching bag). if cheetah hadn't seen her or haseena didn't come into the room, they wouldn't have realised she was crying. when haseena came into the room, her expression turned to one of shock. it could have been just me reading too much into things but the way she flinched when haseena came into the room makes me wonder if something similar happened before. in the Asian culture, a child is taught to toughen up and there isn't any room for emotional vulnerability. so maybe, when she was younger and her parents found her, she got scolded/punished for it.
we talk about haseena being the same in that she doesn't let herself be vulnerable in front of people. but I believe they are different in nature because haseena's lack of vulnerability is, to a certain extent, her choice while my masumiyat's is out of habit.
it's amazing how despite not being in the scene, Surinder Sharma makes me so pissed off. I've said it before and ill say it again, this man is an MCP who doesn't give a hoot about what his daughter wishes/challenges. as my masumiyat said, he accepts her choice for a couple of days and then does a 180 the minute someone bruises his fragile male ego. man needs to grow a spine. she doesn't want to get married so let it go. she has bigger goals like becoming an IPS officer and pursuing other career aspects.
also, I found it interesting that throughout this entire scene, her mother was never mentioned, not that she was before but this aspect kinda stood out to me today. it could be a case of an absent parent (refrigerator mother/neglectful parent?) that caused all her issues (commitment phobia, trust issues, dislike towards men, coping mechanisms). the fact that her concern was her father not being proven wrong was the most important thing to her has my whole heart. nah, that man ain't deserve this gem of a child.
9) I don't think Sandeep is cheating on his wife. I think the mother in law doesn't want them to be together and is cooking up all these stories. IDK why but it's a gut feeling. there is definitely something fishy going on here.
10) is it just me or was santu also getting lost in cheetah? Like haseena was trying to talk to her but she wasn't listening. I am about confused by that scene.
11) Karishma's back cramp, haseena fixing it and Pushpa Ji flying across the room 🤣

12) that PI should get his license revoked for reporting untrue facts. masumiyat was crying again and this time it wasn't meant to be comedic 😭 Surinder Sharma really needs to get his head out of his a**. how can he believe that his daughter is married and having an extramarital affair just because someone else said it? and again, she was more concerned that her father's reputation was tarnished, this girl deserves the world.
uff yeh gusse wali masumiyat santu ji. the girl was on fire when she schooled the PI. he literally ran out of there. I loved how she stood up for herself and didn't need anyone fighting her battles for her. the thing she said about mentality was spot on. the way she left the scene after the dialogue was so in character. the one thing the writers are good at is subtly.
i think I've covered all ground of the last couple of episodes but I'm sorry if I've missed something,
not proofread.
