btw, forgot to say -- those who have watched Bhool Bhulaiyaa would have noticed the male dancer in it -- Vineeth.. He is Shobana's relative; in fact he is Padmini's husband's nephew, and he started his classical dance lessons from Padmini.. He is an actor and one of the best male classical dancer in Kerala... Watching Vineeth and Shobana dance together on stage is so mesmerizing!!! ⭐️

I didn't know Vineeth was good in classical dance until I watched Bhool Bhulaiyaa.I'll check out the show that you mentioned.

two cents: new mile sur suks big time
they hid the voices of singers behind those stupid actresses, and it was family affair kinda thingi, everyone patting everyone's back, no more classical singers or dancers shown, all hidden behind skinny ladies wearing anything but indian, guess it reflects the way we think nowadays

given a choice, the old one over and over again

I liked Vrushali's dance more than Vaishnavi's.. Now dont jump on me, lemme explain.. Vaishnu's act was completely ruined with the UV effect!! That was useless in her act! And her Lavani when compared to the Lavani done by Amrita in DID2, and by one kid from Mumbai for DID-LM audition (cant remember her name, she was in black n gold saree), and Vrushali's Lavani, Vaishnu was not up to par.. Vaishnu lacked the required grace and smoothness for Lavani.. imo...

I loved Vrushu's dance, as always I love to see her do classical and semi-classical dances.. She is the Queen of Expressions, not Vandu! Of course I love Vandu too, but Vrushali is still the Queen of Expressions! Shiamak has no knowledge of Indian classical dance forms, and Remo doesnt know much either.. I didnt see as big a flaw with her hand movements the way they said!! Sorry, my pov!!

I loved most of the acts, though not all.. Dont want to say about each one.. But regarding Dharmesh-Prince face off, I liked Prince more! Sorry Mihir!! I am no Prince fan and used to despise him in DID1.. But seeing them dancing together, Prince was technically better most of the time, looking from the angle of the style they did, and not as a Freestyle!! Even when they danced together in DID2, Prince was better!! Prince does the LnP moves with the correct crispness, aggression, and speed, and his robitic moves are better - stiffer as needed! Dharmesh has a smooth flow of moves rather than sharp and crisp, making it more of a Freestyle kind.. Now I know, I am destined to be doomed by many here now!! 😆

Well said! Completely agree on both points! Vrushali was DEFFO better than Vaishnavi in the solo round. I was shocked to see the judges giving her 7s and even more shocked to see SHIAMAK DAVAR trying to teach classical technique to Vrushali who's an accomplished classical dancer.....laughable😆.....poor Vrushali also had no clue where his random comments about elbows and whatnot were coming from😆......Vaishnavi has done better lavnis than this in the past....ek toh the UV lights totally made the act fall flat and even other than that, I feel her expressions have been better than this in her past performances....so I wouldn't give this an 8 or higher scores than Vrushali.....no ways. Vrushali was extremely elegant and her moves were smooth and on beat.....I dunno what Shiamak Davar was babbling about.

And totally agree about Prince having the edge on Dharmesh in that act....I thoroughly enjoyed the act overall cuz they are both superb dancers.....but Prince edged D out in this one.....he just had an extra sort of spark to him......you've described it perfectly......his moves were crisper, sharper and stiffer as was the requirement of his style. Also I feel he did a better job than D in expressions in some bits as well......especially the nautanki bits of the act😆

Rappy, I posted about Shobana on page four of this thread.. Here's the link to my post:
https://www.indiaforums.com/forum/post/41567363

Padmini is an old time actress and has acted in South movies as well as Hindi - during Raj Kapoor era.. Shobana is Padmini's niece.. They hail from Kerala, one of the southern state of India.. Their original ancestor family home is in my hometown!!!

Which Shobana do you mean by old actress? This Shobana started her career in Malayalam movies in 1984 (btw her first movie name is April 18, which is the same day as today!!), and she still shows her face in selected movies.. She has looked the same all these years, and she is in her mid 40s!! Same for Vineeth too!! He is still looked at as a college boy!!

Vineeth is Padmini's nephew through marriage.. So related to Shobana through Padmini.. Yes, Vineeth did the dancer role in the remakes of that movie - the original one was in Malayalam, but all the remakes (Tamil, Telugu, Hindi) had Vineeth in the same role.. He was supposed to do it in Malayalam too but his dates clashed and so they had to bring a Kannada dancer to do it..

You understand Telugu?
