I think - Dhruv is pretending that he hates Sonam, etch i.e Had to do it has Mother (Nutun) was due to burn herself, but is gathering evidence to Get Sonam back

Hope you are right as otherwise dhruv's character does not make any sense. His behavior with Sonam lately has been very childish and idiotic, he knows his mom and Sonam very well to know what each can do
