Hi there. Here's another one 😊

First things first.... when i see the trailer, the colour of the disgusting liquid is blue (horrible shade) and yesterday in the episode, it was green (equally horribe shade!).... now, i dont think they shot the whole thing scene twice :).... probably played around with the shades on a computer.... but makes me wonder.... if one can play around with colour and light to this extent, how much of the good looks that we go ga ga over are computer generated?.... ab mujhe serious doubts ho rahe hai :) :)

Well I missed the Mon episode so cant comment. If they used software then they could have made it look real mysterious but I presume from the creative levels they concoted it from probably mocktails😆

Well the episode began with capt. Rajveer being taken to the infirmary while Abhimanyu almost leaves but returns to finish and win the game.... a continuation of yesterday's scene.... usual and competent.... and when it was announced that Abhimanyu had won, there was a look of determination and a 'i've done it'....but there wasnt any joy.... i missed that.... Gaurav sir ab waapas intense mode pe chale gaye hai.... and i miss the old, less intense Abhimanyu.... kya karun mera toh dil hi kuch aisa hai!

I missed the beginning serious Abhi well his voice suits the serious dialogues a lot.

Then of course there was the realisation that something had been deliberately done to get Capt. Rajveer out of the competition.... competent job.... i liked the fact that he makes this tokenistic salute before he goes out, a slaute which is completely devoid of any kind of respect.

Also, i had once had a long debate on this forum about camera and light angles.... and how much they contribute to the way a character works.... for the past two or three days Gaurav is being shot much better.... looks better (computer again?! 😉 😆).... and the camera lingers on his eye movements etc which makes it simpler to appreciate the acting.

😆 and yes'day in the last scene he had too much foundation on his face and that was glaring😆 now they should the make-up artist from four(4-serial)

Then there was the scene where the various members of the faculty unwind... i will leave the oohing and aahing over Gaurav to people who'll do it much better than me :)... again, i wish they had let us hear the music.... but what i do want to talk about is this.... he is definitely being established repeatedly as an object of a sexual gaze.... which is not unusual in itself, rather is an essential part of acting... but here what i find interesting is that within the show there is no one who directs that gaze on him.... i.e. within the show, he is not an object of anyone's affection.... (even today, the sole viewer is Aalekh -- this show is definitely full of homoerotic spaces).... but to come back, the point i am trying to make is this: the gaze that the creative team is catering to lies outside the show and not within it.... this erotic charge given to Abhimanyu is solely for the camera and those beyond it, i.e. the viewers.... this erotic charge is not for any female character within the show.... and thats what makes it relatively different from sexualised representations of male characters on television.... Abhimanyu's eroticism is an indulgence for the audience, tangential to the plot but very helpful in establishing possibilities for the character and for winning over an audience.

Yes they should have let us hear the music to know what the charac's state of mind. Now Abhi in the rain in the dark? makes me ques Why?

Talking of camera shots---the way they framed him was bad..at first it seemed as if Linda Hamilton was running and next it seemed it was Hillary Swank but of course it was Gaurav. very badly shown.

and the steps were too fast if they wanted to show him releasing his stress out they ought to be smooth and in synch, the rhythm too was lacking in the choreography (In Farha Khan style: choreogrpaher pl stand up and leave😡) Gaurav did try to restrain it but it wasnt since the steps were so.

His next major scene today was the one in which he tells Capt. Rajveer that he shall compete with him 'fair and square'.... by the way, i like it when people use idioms, i think they are dying out otherwise, so good work Mr. dialogue writer :).... to come back to the scene, there was a relative lack of expression on his face.... i wondered if it was deliberate.... esepcially since Gaurav has gone off into the intense mode and throwing a challenge is something that can be done in more visibly dramatic ways.... but i liked the restraint.... since it showed that this is still new to Abhimanyu, its still awkward for him being this person.... and it also established that somewhere this is a closed topic.... he's not going to change his mind about this issue.... whether right or wrong, this is how he is going to do it.

This scene was the only saviour. I liked his restrained expression when he is asked the reason for forgoing the test. It was as if he was gulping down pain (in hindi khoon ke ghooth peena). Even the last one this competition is with myself was good as it gives him confidence and enable shim to introspect but on hindsight its dangerous if he looses😔. That would be killing his soul.

Finally, the show was also good today... gripping and fast paced.... is this a new director?.... (i remember reading a post which said that the earlier director was leaving).... if yes, he/she's doing a good job.... if he/she is the same, well, congrats, your mind is back.... 😛

I disagree here Shevs-its good in packages whosoever is directing/creating/scripting....its as if the Kurta is good but the salwar is misfit😒

Well thats it for today... see ya all tomo.

definitely😆

thats great...welcome to the club😳 .

so very true he has graceful moments wish they optimised them in the dance sequence.😍 and yes he does lend the royal touch but without the haughtiness👏

Now sensual -he does look one you bet👍🏼 and in the typical manly way.☺️ I guess he is rightly labelled so.. but what engrips you is his voice & dialogue delivery along with facial expressions.👏

but the best part is he is not villain. and he has now the courage to stand up for himself and raj. he too like raj will not compromise on friendship. as far as the test is concerned abhi thinks raj is the best competitor for him that's why he did not take part in the third test. he will compete with the best to be the best.

You have put it very aptly.👏

I found the Naina-Raj scene ---the bed one,...very tacky it was poorly crafted. They should made it graceful.

Sweetie they would have to use mocktails... cant take the risk of anyone getting drunk and not performing well. And then apne jalebi jaise seedhe gauravji madirapaan nahi karte.... at least hamesha kehte toh yehi hai 😆

Yes his voice seems custom made for serious delivery.... thats why i want to see him do something cmpletely impish!

I wish i had seen 4.... i did think looks fairer but it never crossed my mind that that could have come from too much foundation.... hmmmm... i learn new things at the forum everyday 😊

Actually i liked the shot where he stops running.... cant really stand stright due to sheer tiredness, thoda sa ladkhadana aur phir seedhe khada rahna....

Gaurav in this scene was very conventionally masculine.... Hillary Swank.... why do this to her? 😊... i know she's not conventionally feminine but i find her very attractive... but then i always find unusual loking women attractive.... (i know, another instance of my many failings!)

Yes winning has come to mean a lot to Abhimanyu...

Hmmmm.... i see what you are saying.... perhaps you are dissatisfied because the show is getting dramatic in a very Hindi filmy way.... i mean your points of reference, Arms and the Man, Catch-22, Western music and movies, Western film actors are all very different in sensibility from the typical Hindi film/serial masala framework.... apart from AB, of course, our, (yours and mine) eternal reference point 😊.... anyway, i hope the show improves in such a way that you start enjoying yourself again 😊

really drunk😆 no no I didnt mean that, perhaps they were inspired by those magic flicks and in their attempt to make the drink really arcane they mixed various moctails to derive something......🤢

I havent seen him doing that so should be interesting...but mind you the script has to be taut and supportive or else it falls flat.

learning....🤓.... ok thanks😊

yes that was fine, I was talking about the moment when he enters the frame in the dark.

I admire Hillary Swank and it wasnt any hidden comment or something what I meant to say about the scene was the awkwardness coupled with the camera angle which made it look gauche ( i can only thing of this word right now) kuch ajeeb sa shot tha😕 may be the darkeness too made it obscure.

Yes winning has come to mean a lot to Abhimanyu...

thats true😊

No no its not because its getting typical Hindi film style even the Eng movies all are melodramatic. Somewhere the two are quite similar the point of divergence is in presentation see One Fine Day or When Harry met Sally ---simple love story but look how they showed it😊

I quite enjoy David Dhawan movies😆. But hindi movie on war .....................still thinking🤔.....

thinking...😕😕 come on lirh..there are many hindi movies on wars and seriously great to watch. i don't know abt what type of drama ..catch 22 or arms and the men ..present..but many hindi movies hv really featured real war situations very well. some with the portrayal of human emotions & some with the ultimate brutalness of war or fight.

Hey Shweta and lirh, this is in response to your discussion about the dance:
Vis-a-vis all the discussion about the dance, perhaps it seemed awkward because the music and the steps were different.... as i said, i'd wish they'd let us hear what the person is actually playing or danced to.
But even with that, i liked the dance sequence... didnt find it as problematic as you guys seem to have done... when i saw it in coming up, before the break, i did go 'uffff.... ab yeh kya?'.... but when i actually saw the sequence i liked it..... but i didnt talk about this extensively in my post since i thought you all would go 'ooh' and 'aah' about it.... and now it seems as if i'm the only one of the fan club who liked it. 😊
And Lirh, Hakeekat was a good war film.... even Lakshya wasnt bad... border was ok.... and havent seen LOC.

shvetal..it's not that we didn't like the dance sequence..but it started without any reference without giving us a set up to see something like this.. ...i mean their was no scene which gave the idea of abhi anger & stress...(raj's concern was not the reason of his dance)...so..it was slight odd to see that dance suddenly. and the top of it..the absence of music & beats..so that we can enjoy the steps & movements according to the rythem...acted as a hamper to the sequence. as i said..the expressions, the body & the rain were good..but it lacked the real touch.
as for movies..tango charlie..is one i recall ...it had featured very brutal ways of torture in war situations.
