What really was Abhay thinking by not taking his family into confidence before marrying Shivangi? And if he wasnt sure of his mother's approval and still married Shivangi he shouldnt have have tried to convince his mom AFTER the marriage. Instead should have taken a take it or leave it approach. Afterall he already disregarded his mother's feelings by marrying without her consent. He can as well live with Shivangi seperately till his mother accepts Shivangi. The convincing should have come before the marriage.
Anyways as far as giving the track a chance I feel seeing the history of LS this one also will be ended abruptly. Mostly because the channel will take the show off or atleast move to such a bad slot that it will automatically kill the show. I second rainabow...I dont oppose the track. I oppose the fact that it started off at the cost of more interesting and different tracks.

Exactly, that is what I meant but you put it in a simpler way. I do not mean to say ALL young Indian lovers who face disapproval by their parents should go the American way (elope and ditch their families). But, as long as Abhay and Shivangi already married without their parents' consent, why not just continue on that note? They bucked tradition by getting married without their parents' knowledge or blessings, so why are they now so concerned about tradition? This is bizarrely inconsistent.

After reading that it is going to turn into a lame saas bahu track, I now DO oppose it.

I don't believe it will be overly dramatic, but still a stale concept. If Shavangi were significantly dumber, it would be the LS equivalent of Soni being pitted against Durga and that useless Jyothi.

The thing I like about Ladies Special is the fact that it brings new and relevant issues to the forefront, so if they have something new to bring to the traditional saas bahu track, like the son telling his mom off and starting life anew with his wife, then I can give my blessings. I guess we will see how it progresses, but I anticipate that it will be boring for a while, as the article essentially said that Abhay won't know who to believe when his wife is being harassed by his mother. That will drag on continuously, as it always does, and probably come to some lame and abrupt end. Wish I could be more positive...

I don't think there will be Saas Bahu thingie...
