Episode 308

24th March 2011

Dutta /Kala face off..

Dutta stares at Kala.. who continues to point her gun at Dutta.. Aye tries to reason with her..naku fears the worst. Sudarshan stands up looking fierce, now.. and runs to Kala.. turncoat! opportunist! visually it is seen now that Kala holds the gun in her hand.. so Sudarshan runs to her .. possibly to hide behind her.. Dutta gives him a furious look.. no surprises! such quick change of sides.. joins who has the upper hand!.. Dutta fearlessly , asks Kala to, get on with it and shoot me! without further delay! Kala defiantly holds the gun firmly , Dutta waits for her to shoot him.. the family looks worried suddenly Dutta and all else her the chants of long live Dutta Bhau! long live Dutta Bhau are heard in the vicinity! Aye Sahib, Baji and Naku wonder where from? and who makes the sound? Kala too moves her head in the direction of the voices.. Dutta mutters, the voices sound like Mahadev's people! Dutta looks at Kala and tells her, these shouts that you can hear Kala ! are for me! they come for me.. not blood relations! but they care for those whom I love! without me calling for their help they approach to fight mine enemies!.but Kala still holds Dutta under siege.. Dutta continues, now if they find out that your are my enemy! what they'll do with you? even I don't know!.. Sudarshan shifts his eyes in fear.. and Aye Sahib and Naku thank heaven for this god sent! out of fear the BG from where they are posted clasp their palms and shout out , forgive us Dutta Bhau! forgive! Dutta Bhau! we made a mistake Dutta Bhau!! Kala holding the gun turns her head to look at her army who now bear allegiance to Dutta Bhau! Sudarshan too looks around at the BG! they continue begging, forgive us Dutta Bhau, we got influenced by Kala! Dutta raises his palm as a sign for them to stop begging him..its when they take Kala's name he raises his palm to stop them..does Dutta still love her deep down.. as a sister..? why? is this because of his love and loyalty for Aye Sahib.? .. whatever this is ? it's the beauty of Dutta's heart.. made of gold!.. compassionate, merciful.. unlike Kala who is cold blooded.

Dutta tells her, take a look Kala! those people who feared you and were misled by you as they claim.. today they too abandon you! now it looks like you are all alone! Kala looks around at BG with tears in her eyes.. Dutta continues, but if you are still not satisfied! than here Dutta stands before you!.. Dutta stands with both arms extended wide apart! he looks at her with his head to the side.. eyes full of tears.. Kala too has tears of bruised pride! and she yells at Dutta, coming so close to victory! I am not prepared to accept defeat! ..dutta looks at her pitifully! still waiting for her to shoot him.. and Kala aims at Dutta! and Dutta closes his eyes and throws his head back slightly with a smile on his face.. showing all especially Kala for her happiness he is ready to die! all around hold their breaths! Kala pulls the trigger! click! nothing.. click again! but nothing!! she looks down in horror at her empty gun! this scene shows clearly .. that Dutta is willing to die at her hands to set her free from her pent up hate.. but Kala too like Dutta was ready to kill Dutta.. if only she could.. true she could never understand Dutta's love for her..for her hate blinds her!

Dutta opens his eyes irritated by her delay! only to note her staring helplessly at her gun.. Dutta calls out, what's happened?? your gun's abandoned you too? she tries again like a serpent but to no avail! and Dutta continues to look at her with tearful eyes. ..still hoping she gets the message to repent.. but Kala hurls her the empty on the ground!.. Baji wounded on the ground, calls out to her, if god is for you !!who can be against you?, Kala has to swallow this truth painfully! Baji continues, see Kala even your gun has a conscience! it refused to work! Aye Sahib too joins and scolds her, in adverse times one's shadow too abandons one! then what is the value of your insignificant weapon! .. Sudarshan shifts his eyes in discomfort as Leela too taunts her sister, you were planning to set off huge explosives! what a pity your own gun lost it's boom! and Roops mocks, those who can't differentiate between good or bad, how can they understand Kalavati? that's what you say don't you Tai? but today! you yourself don't know how to crack this one! Roops quite simply highlights that Kala despite her wily ,plotting and hatching conspiracies.. has now come to a point that the people she reckoned were blind and stupid, those who danced to her tunes unsuspectingly.. now see the difference between good and bad.. and they recognise full well how Kala directed the game of treachery and deceit in their family.. but now! as Roops her baby sister points out, Kala fails to find a way out of the mess!!

and to the band accusers joins in Madhu too, my dad was very repentant after killing your father! but you committed a big sin by murdering my dad! ..basically before Kala this act of "your dad killed my dad so I killed your dad in return and avenged my father's death"!is the motive behind her crime... but as Madhu points out.. that Kala has committed a big sin! as by killing Damodar she has slain a repentant man! not a murderer!

Mahadev..

Sounds of long live Dutta Bhau now comes closer and the group of militant villagers is led by Mahadev and Tana., Bhola ranga.. Dutta turns to look surprised with one happy smile ! his whole family looks at the approaching crowd of people singing Dutta's praises! and very soon the crowd progresses forward toward's Dutta cheering him..Mahadev and Dutta smile at each other! Dutta raises his palms and requests for the cheering to stop! they do and then one of the villagers shouts menacingly, Dutta Bhau tell us who your enemy is! we will not spare the person! today we will not spare anyone who is against you! and they all yell in agreement..Kala and Sudarshan are now at Dutta's mercy.. but Dutta says, please calm down,relax!..everything is fine here..he looks at Kala and says, only my family is present here! the enemy ran away from here just a few minutes before your arrival!..Kala and Sudarshan are stunned, by Dutta's words! all his family is not entirely surprised.. Dutta speaks the words of forgiveness for Kala.. for the sake of his familial unit.. he keeps family affairs within the family, defers washing his dirty linen in public! .. basically now Kala 's fate is left at the mercy of Dutta and Dutta alone! what could be a worst punishment for her.. the tables have turned for her.. she aspired to control Dutta's destiny , now it seems Dutta controls her destiny!

The villagers are all confused by Dutta's decision.. but he continues with clasped hands, once again I want to thank all of you! I had faith that you would return once more for me !now all of you can return to your homes, and I will soon come and visit you, with all my family!..and sadly the villagers depart chanting long life Dutta Bhau! and Dutta raises up his hands to them.. dewy eyed.. then he looks down at his wounded friend Baji.. on the ground.. rushes to him.. and crouches beside him..Baji!! nothing will happen to you! and he glares at Kala in fury!

Patil Nivas ~ Kala on trial

The whole family gathers in the lounge. Dutta strolls in.. as all stand to attention..the family is quiet they all fear Dutta's reaction.. now that they are in the privacy of their home. Dutta moves his eyes and stares at Kala who is not moved by Dutta's act of letting her off! ..

Dutta strolls toward her, and looks down at her and she glares up at him.. Dutta coldly says, Kala shriram Patel...I didn't expose you before the community! because I have more respect for the sanctity of this family ,than you! but now the hour has approached for you to apologize! don't for one minute think that you'll command the same respect as before! you will not be addressed as Kala Tai by me, or any other person in this household! BECAUSE that right you have lost by your heinous acts!

This then is Dutta Bhau's justice.. he strips the traitor of all her credentials, status, rank and file!! and oh! how she wanted elite status!

You had grievances against me! hated me! but why did you punish all these people?.. Kala just stares at him defiantly and remains obstinately silent. Dutta controls his temper and refers the matter to his mother, Aye Sahib today you will be the judge of this case, you give the verdict! what should be done with this woman!.. what punishment should be meted out to a sister? a daughter? such a daughter who turned so selfish that she kept her own as her captive!

Aye Sahib gives her response, according to me, as of today I break all my family ties with her! she is neither my daughter! nor I your her mother! Dutta turns to look at Kala hopelessly , but Kala defiantly retorts back to her mother, enough of your farcical sense of justice! you know full well that I hated Dutta yesterday! today! and will always loathe him! .. Leela moans , you included both of us too, in your hideous and sordid game! and in this hate game of yours my marriage too was put on the line! Kala retorts, and what marriage are you talking about? your husband is a born drip! got it! besides no one is happily married in this household! she glares up into Dutta's eyes and continues all put on false acts!.. this is obviously a reference to Naku's dusky/ fair look.. but it's unjustified.. for it was Kala who manipulated the two mothers ..plus Naku!so the story of guile and deceit always comes back to Kala!

Kishore rebuffs her loudly, shrimati Kala devi Kishore Patil!.. you don't know the meaning of the word marriage? had you known, then you would have carried out your duties as a mother and a wife! even the vile serpent would be abused if I compared you to one! even toxic is less lethal in nature when compared to you! you have never fulfilled a single relationship to this day! fumes Kishore. Roops screams, Tai you even used me your youngest sister!. Dutta looks down at her and says, so many accusations and crimes against you Kala? so many.. the endless number even defies punishments!.. Madhu cries out, you killed my father as well! I hate you! and Kala yells back.. it was your father who killed my father! and don't you forget it!..but Aye Sahib challenges her, and what about me? why did you punish me? I was your father's wife!!. baji digresses, Aye Sahib, Kala has done far worse! she kept us alive but, throughout Patil Vadi she spread a malicious rumours, taught people to back stab! contaminated the whole area!

Dutta growls, Kala! I feel like exposing you before all of Patil Vadi! and also to punish you before them! but I am tied down Kala..even though I know full well you will not accept your crimes, but I stop for my mother who will not live in peace!.. Kala looks on arrogantly at Dutta.. and he turns to face Sudarshan... who wipes off sweat from his mouth.. and Dutta says to him, and with you.. are not even related by blood, a mere outsider...now who the hell is going to forgive you? there is only one fate for you Sudarshan!..all expect the worst! but Sudarshan kneels before Dutta, touches his feet! and sobs.. I did wrong.. with you and family.. I was influenced by her talk.. she tempted me that I should get Baji's place in your life... and Dutta's eyes pop out with rage! and he kicks Sudarshan to the side away from his leg.. but Sudarshan kneels again before Dutta and confesses, I did bad with my family! I want to repent ..he grovels, but Dutta is unimpressed! I repent! forgive me! Aye Sahib..please forgive! Naku vahini! tell Bhau to forgive me!..lellu.. I failed you! give me one more chance.. Dutta looks very distressed.. he is in a very awkward situation.. Sudarshan , happens to be his sister's husband, Aye Sahib's daughter's husband.. i.e the son in law of the house.. to have him on his knees before the in laws, culturally , is not pleasant business..[yes he miss uses his status.. Kishore and him.. chalk and cheese..]

Sudarshan once again begs at Dutta's feet, forgive me Bhau! but Dutta once again spurns him aside with the same leg Sudarshan hangs on to! then Leela calls .. bhau! and Dutta swerves his neck backwards to his sister who says.. give him one chance..and Dutta bows his head once..and Sudarshan looks across his wife from the floor.. and Dutta orders Sudarshan..get up! and Sudarshan stands before him.. but Dutta turns his face from him and saysas he refers to Kala.. Nakusha... she is the same woman who made our life hell! she's the woman who poisoned our life! to keep you away from me she conspired endlessly!..Aye Sahib you tell me? what punishment shall I give to this woman?.. all are silent.. and Dutta tells her, all are silent Kala, which means they only want one thing... and Dutta raises and points his gun point blank at Kala!.. Aye Sahib says, I have closed my eyes Dutta! whatever punishment you think she deserves go ahead and give it, I will not mourn for her death! Dutta glares at Kala .. gun pointed at her forehead!
