Hi Hammie (I'm going to miss saying that on this thread!)hi naila😛.. you getting emotional? chaal, me to will miss your lambe.. lambe.. comments.. mind you this one i read last night and was chuckling..😛..
And just like that, it is over. Bittersweet.
over like the show for us.. i saw thurs/friday episodes.. my cuz wanted to watch, nana shows his true colors, plus his hairy chest! ...Firstly, a massive heartfelt thank you from myself and everyone else on LTL. We thoroughly appreciate all the hard work, dedication, determination and time that went into providing us with both well written and immensely detailed updates. We cannot thank you enough for that. It really does take a certain level of determination and tenacity to keep it up, and you, you did that fantastically! Top notch my London mate!
thanks naila , it was our united love for a particular gent.. that moved this thread..Second; I loved your little tidbits, I would especially (after reading the update) scan it again to spot the italic bits, as they were your personal comments and/or trivia. It honestly added that something extra which made these updates stand out. I shall miss your in depth analysis of the characters and the plots!!!!! :)
and i loved your inputs naila.. they were exclusive additions that gave other readers on this thread much joy ,and varied perspectives on the story and characters. Now to the updates. I was looking eagerly forward to what promised to be the ultimate showdown between the two bigwigs of Patil Vaadi: Dutta and Kala. While I can say there was enough build up and the final moments when they met, did meet expectations, the rest? Well the rest, truthfully felt a bit lackluster. We got to see just how mad Kala really is, and I loved that, but what I wanted more of was the display of her hatred in front of Dutta. I wanted to see more of the pain she had in her hurt which festered and evolved into venom. I wanted to see that while once a upon a time, we may have been able to sympathise with Kala-afterall she was a child who had witnessed the murder of her father-now however, he motives and feelings were nothing more that cold bloody murder.
of course her loathing for him will continue.. that will not change even after post mishal.. along with the shield nakusha looking for the saab she is meant to protect.. Tammie put it best with her one liners, that indeed had it been all about revenge for Kala, the fire in her belly, should have been satisfied once she-and she alone-killed her father's killer. Damodar. It further should have been extinguished when she succeeded in separating her brother-Dutta from his one true love-Naku. BUt alas no. That was not enough for her, because somewhere along the line, she too lost sight of what her 'maksad' what her ultimate goal had been. It somehow went from "avenging her father" to "POWER" -and lots of it.
I loved her comments.. and as for kala.. she believed she was born to ruleI wanted her trial to be longer. I wanted every person to have something to say-as opposed to the off hand comments like "You used us too in your games" (Roops) and "You murdered my father" (Madhu) and "I was your father's wife" (AS)- yes they were all good points, but it needed more. I understand there was a timing issue. Of course the amount that we got was more than they would happily have given us, had it not been for Mishal's immense popularity. BUT STILL. For someone who nearly vested a year into this show (I started watching, at the start of Jan I think) I feel somewhat cheated now.
yes the PH wanted the wrap up before mishal left.. and they used naku to say.. all this," when will this all end vendetta ,hate?.. well it carries on after mishal leaves..Anyway bygones. hummm..sahnoo ke..
Next and possibly the most important: farewell Dutta Bhau. I cannot careless that supposedly there is another Dutta waiting in the wings, for me there is and shall always be one Dutta: Mishal. As I am sure, everyone else agrees on this forum. Mishal is the reason I watched. No two ways about it. It was his portrayal of the angered and embittered jilted groom that got someone like me; who mercilessly mocked daily soaps, so addicted that I would vociferously demand that the channel be changed as LTL was about to come on-even if that meant I endured endless humility from my brothers for turning into one of them as they refer to it. Simply I couldn't care, because this man; this wonderful man was born to be an actor. 😆😆.. yes.. mishal.. i recall shabbir[/replacement dutta] the bollywood star, say in an interview , that "mishal put life in the character of dutta"..
You don't need me to say it, but I shall anyway-(aadat se majboor!) ;) Mishal made Dutta. Had it not been for his portrayal, his charisma and his own take I doubt that even today what is 4 coming onto 5 years later, such character would still be remembered and loved by all. Despite and this is the big part-despite not being what is deemed as the quintessential Indian Hero (as much as I hate that phrase) I agree. Dutta was no angel. He was a murder. His business was dodgy. Yet in spite of all of that he was extremely just and fair-albeit sometimes his version of justice seemed downright insane (I mean come on, really you married me now you have to learn what being a Don's wife is all about so shoot these bottles in my hands?...if you ask me DUDE just needed a TV, to pass the time rather than providing that game as evening entertainment for the Patil clan!)
great comment on the star of the show.. all the cast bounced off him, in role and out!
Overall I have had a wonderful time watching LTL. For me it was the first time, while i may have youtubed some of the scenes, it was honestly as though I was watching it live. Discussing it with many wonderful IF'ers here made the experience all the more cherished! SO for that I thank you all.
thank you.. me to saw it on YT .. then saw it on colors paying a 10 sub phir mishal left i cut off my sub as a protest.. now under ristey colursis free.. as you knowTill date my favourite moments would probably be wedding number 1, it's aftermath and JMM1 when I feel that the characters and the writing was at it's peak. While I did want Naku to be able to reveal herself, I dunno-maybe it is just me-but I felt that once her colour came off, Nakusha as a character lost some of her innocence. She lost a certain spark. I can't quite put my finger on what it was but i felt something was amiss. In fact not Nakusha alone, but Dutta and Baji too-especially in terms of the unit: Duji, something was never quite the same. Which is a shame. Nonetheless TaSha shall always be one of my OTPS and Duji definitely one of my top BROTPS ;p
funny you should say that.. i too began to warm to her..koyal naku.. young bhi nazar ati thi.. the actress changes body wise post mishal...
I have had a wonderful time here, discussing the story, often mocking it and most certainly nit picking. FOr which I thank all of you who endured my long posts, understatement 😆 who replied back to me, and those of you who put up with my rants (Mostly I shall thank Hammie here) it has been amazing.
So with nothing left to add- hain?? itni jaldi ja rehe hai? 😕.. tu thek tu hai?
cheerio ;)
...
seee.. aa gaye tum.. to your true self.. on and on and on..
sorry I lied; I wanted to add a few of my all times favourite lines:
these are brilliant!"Dutta ki buffallo" - Anna 😆
"Tum teekh toh ho?...Dekh kar nahin chal sakti?" Dutta to Naku (it was more the way he said it LOL)😆.. what about yehri... [ mad in marathi]
"Hand to hand meeting" - Dutta 👏
"Jagadambe" - AS (again the way she would say it had me ROFL) 👏..
"Sab mental case hain" - Sudarshan to Kala 😆
and of course Baji's one liners and sher-o-shayree I would list them but would be unfair since most of his lines had me stitches, same goes for Kala's eyebrow game. SO good as showing how she was done with lectures and Kishore's giyaans.
Actually Dutta and Kala tie for that position they both had the best eye rolls in the bizz! ;p
two faces of the same coin..?
seems dutta took after her father shriram patil, benevolent , man.. and kala took after her chachaa damoder.. who did a lot of snatching and grabbing ,doing dirty deeds and deals.. food for thought..
naila thanks for walking with me on this thread.. aacha laga mujhe.. kush rehe gurriye..😆 and this cannot be good bye... are you jokin..?😆.. much love ,glad to know you hammie..
