Episode ~72

6th April 2010

Shiva's temple

The episode picks up from the point where Dutta holds Supriya against his heart before all his people .. indicating to them that she is the would be wife of Dutta Shri Ram Patil..Naku looks downwards and smiles, so does Baji . Dutta too smiles and moves her closer to him and points ahead then Dutta leads Supriya through the cheering crowd. Smilingly Baji , follows the couple as Naku too walks beside Baji , her head hung low.. and so Dutta Bhau takes his exit from the Shiv temple with his would be wife..

Gadha! ~Fool scene

Dutta's black jeep is homeward bound. Dutta drives, alongside in front sits with him Supriya .Naku sits in the back seat with Baji. Dutta steals a sideways glance at Supriya as Naku watches him from the rear seat. Dutta catches her eyes through the rear mirror. Amused he asks as he drove,what happened Naku ? why are you so quiet today?.Naku shakes her head, I have nothing to say, you've got the one you love, what more can Naku ask for. Dutta turns and smiles at Supriya . Baji adds, Naku's looking at you Bhau how much you have changed, right Nakusha? before Bhau never went anywhere without me! but now when a person falls in love ,everything changes. Baji continues to look at Naku and says , when you fall in love then you'll find out too. Naku replies, me? who I am going to fall in love with?. Baji says, some goon!. How would I know who you will love Naku? you should know that!. he teases. Naku replies, who would fall in love with a girl like me? Dutta, corrects her, why what's wrong with you? you are mature, and a man who doesn't understand you will be a fool! a fool! ,he says with meaning. Naku gives a bitter smile. Dutta consoles her, somewhere, someone is there for each of us. Naku looks at him through the rear mirror. As Dutta assures her, there must be someone for you too... and you were the one who explained what love was to me.. now if a person like me , who doesn't know how long he will live, can be struck dead anytime, finds some one, then why not you? and he looks at her through the rear mirror. Naku listens to him and replies, it's all about destiny , Supriya Tai is very lucky. Baji turns to her , Naku why are you talking like this? everyone has their share of luck.! don't take tension! I'll change your luck! whenever you fall in love with someone! just tell me we'll get you married to that person! right Bhau! chirps Baji...we'll have a big celebration! Baji shouts , and Dutta smiles congenially, while Baji , repeats to Naku don't get upset!.. Naku smiles, then catches, Dutta 's eyes looking at her reaction, through the rear mirror and she turns to look out of the window. Tearfully she looks ahead at Supriya who sits serious faced beside Dutta. They finally arrive at Patil Nivas..

Patil Nivas

Aye Sahib checks the ground turmeric for the ceremony prepared by the maids, and instructs if you have finished with pounding the turmeric, then finish this last bit off and then keep it all in one place. She complains to Leela and Roops , where has this Dutta gone? Leela did he not tell you either? Roops says, Bhau went without informing anyone! so cute na! Aye snubs her , Roops be quiet! all day long you talk nonsense !

Babi over hears , as she wipes plates. Kala comes to the landing on the top floor, and looks much amused down, upon her worried and pacing Aye Sahib..and then she glides down the main stairway, looks at her mother ..Aye Sahib paces ,rubs her hands with anxiety.

Kala reaches the lounge and Dutta turns the corner and enters in a lemon kurta with Supriya beside him , flanked Baji and Naku following. Dutta faces his family and Baji stands next to Supriya , but Naku slips away to the side. Roops announces, Bhau is back Aye! Babi, Kala all look towards Dutta. His mother complains, where had you gone? you had us all worried. He gives Supriya a sided glance, and his mother notices the tilak. He lowers his eyes as all wait for an explanation, he says , Aye Sahib we went to the temple. The family are mighty surprised, at this reformation in him. Leela taunts, how come you went to the temple without informing your sisters? Kala seizes her moment and walks up and stands close to Supriya and with a big beaming smile says, Aye Sahib ask Bhau on whose suggestion he went to the mandir?. Dutta remains silent.Roops teases him mandir! and he goes shy. Aye saves him and says, I know whose suggestion it could be, and she smiles at Supriya , our DIL is really lucky for this household. All smile except Naku , but Kala sneers as she looks at Supriya. Aye continues, at least the two of you were together. Kala moves her head forward from the side and gives Supriya a, that's not true is it? look... she prods, vahini what did you pray for? I am sure you prayed that Bhau and you stay together forever, right? she challenges a slightly tearful Supriya with a pat on her cheek which makes Supriya cringe . All around hear Kala's words and smile. Roops, goes, so cute! and rushes to Dutta's side and hugs his arm with affection, Bhau tell me something what did you pray for?..he smiles mischievously and turns his head to kiss her forehead, and says with a smile, a good husband for you. and Roops says shyly , Bhau.! and he continues, but then I thought who would want to marry you? and Roops pulls a sad face, and he adds, with a big cheek to cheek grin, so cute na? .. Roops moans Aye! all laugh , but Aye turns to Supriya , you have given my son a new lease of life...and for this I will give you whatever you ask for .. Supriya looks tearfully at Aye Sahib.. if only she could ask for her freedom.. ask for her true love Ravi. but Aye warns her , from tomorrow the turmeric ceremonies begin, make sure you don't take my son anywhere or else, now go! she chides Supriya with a smile. Kala sees the humour and giggles, but sneers to Supriya go...

Dutta and Supriya leave, and so does Naku..

Dutta & Supriya

They both walk down the corridor that leads up to private quarters of occupants. Dutta gives her a sided glance,.. she is preoccupied with FB Kala holding the gun and saying you know how Bhau treats a woman who cheats on him.. keeps her alive like a corpse... she stops in her tracks, he notices and turns around his body and faces her...looks at her suspiciously and asks , what's the matter? are you thinking .. about your future? don't worry he says tenderly as he ushers her forward to her room .. she enters and he follows and stops near the door way.. she turns to face him with a false smile.. he looks at her face and says firmly, you go to sleep. I have to discuss something with Baji ..and he turns to leave.. but then turns to face her again, and warns gently, one more thing, don't ever disappear on your own like you did today at the temple. Supriya today you saw the gathering of people who love me..in the same gathering there might have been my foes as well, and like every one else, they too now know how precious you are to me.... is this Dutta saying he loves her?.. fool.. fool.. a love bitten fool.. he nods at her and she smiles but remembers Kala's chilling words.. how Bhau treats a woman who cheats on him!..he'll skin Ravi alive!.

Supriya reaches for his hand and cups it in hers.. and says coquettishly , I won't disappear...you came to the temple today , sat through the ritual...I really liked it..no one can separate us us now. She dupes Dutta and with a smile he covers her hand with his palm to seal the clasp of his other hand...and says now get some rest, your face has withered in the sun!.. and he loosens his hands and holds her face in his palms!.. and looks at her face with desire..as if wanting to kiss her.. but let's go of her face, pats her shoulder gently and leaves Supriya 's room.. she breathes a sigh of relief.. Ravi creeps in from the side as he watches Dutta come out of Supriya's room and turn down the corridor..

Supriya & Ravi

Supriya paces the room. Ravi enters closes the door... she sobs and hugs him helplessly... he calms her in the hug. Ravi! what will happen now.. he says nothing! and she sobs, but Kala knows everything!.she won't spare us !he calms her nothing will happen.. Supriya sobs, if Dutta had seen us today! god knows what would have happened! he tells her to get a grip on herself.,he didn't come to know did he? she realizes.. no! he says , we have to meet Kalavati Tai at 9.oo alright? pull yourself together please! Supriya will she forgive us ? he says Supriya ! things will happen exactly the way we want, Supriya both of us are together , isn't it ?whatever happens we'll bear it together alright?.. and he hugs are again.. and says, hey! get hold of yourself!.. and he turns and leaves the room..

Kala 's room

It's night time, Ravi and Supriya scurry along the corridor like mice toward Kala 's room. Kala in her room plays with a figurine piece of pair of ethnically dressed lovers.. she brings the figurine closer to her and feels the female figure with her fingers.. these two love birds will be very useful.. she admits to herself.

Kishore walks up in the corridor.. Ravi and Supriya suddenly stop in their tracks at the corner..and move to the other side, of the wall till Kishore passes.. which he does.. but stops, as he reckons he saw someone.. but concludes he must be seeing things and moves on towards his room.

He barges in and Kala keenly says, so finally you are here?.. Kishore says yes. a shocked Kala puts the figurine down and turns her face alarmed... it's you?.. Kishore smiles, full of himself, yes it's me! he peeps outside his door, looks around in his room and whispers to her ,why ?were you expecting someone else?. Kala replies sheepishly noo. but what are you doing in my room at this hour?. He looks at her aghast, brilliant! you must be the first woman in this world, who questions her husband at night in their bedroom what is doing there? Kala ignores his hints and says tersely, did you have some work?.. and he says mischievously , actually yes I have.. some work , love is in the air for the new bride and groom, so I thought why shouldn't I rekindle the relationship of an old husband and wife! and he bolts their bedroom door. Kala complains, actually I am tied up in some important work! I mean, please don't disturb me.. she.. apologetically, I have been so busy with Bhau's wedding preparations , that even Anay's studies have been neglected... not now please... Kishore moves from the door little disappointed, and says with a smile, Shakespeare was right..."Women speak two languages - one of which is verbal..." every woman speaks two languages.. first language has words, and the second language their meaning... now the words .. Kishore , says but Kala cuts him she short, Kishore ! good night!.. he smiles and replies, exactly! now these are the words "good night"...and their meaning is .. he opens the door, get lost! good bye! , Kishore says, and steps out and then reverses his head in the same time again to ask her, at what time do you want your morning tea?.. miserably she says, the same time as usual.. and he smiles with a good night! and leaves.

He comes down the corridor and walks past a huddled against the wall Supriya and Ravi... they check that the coast is clear and then..as Kala looks to her open door.. Ravi and Supriya walk into her room... and she stares at them.. got you!... episode ends. Hamlet53~ 4. 12.13.

Precap: so tell me what should I do with you two?.. vahini you do one thing, go to Bhau now and tell him the truth...

Episode touches on the fast changing for the better Dutta Bhau.. which is very noticeable and obvious before all.. but what is not noticeable to all is Kala's grip on Supriya and...in turn both of them as a pair.

Dutta 's cavalier attitude towards religious beliefs is brought out casually. But for Supriya's cap another feather is added, as it's seen she influenced him towards this good practice.

Famous lines of Dutta where he calls himself a bit of an ass! .Tongue in cheek we chuckle as he is the one who fails to fathom Naku's true worth.

Supriya is also lauded for giving Dutta a certain good cheer ,whereby he is now cracking light jokes and seeing the lighter side of life.
