she did very well but true is that people like mishal more than her but it didn't mean to disrespect her sorry for being little rude.
Not being rude at all...😊 I respect your opinion and would like to hear more about what you like about Mahi? You are right that Dutta/Mishal was loved more. The reason is that MR was able to give Dutta many layers and vulnerability. Even the last few months where MR was being treated badly he gave his best…I just feel Mahi was not able to. Eternity...Mahi did a great job as Naku and there were some emotional scenes she performed brilliantly….but over all I just felt there was something missing…compared to MR she was not able to give the same energy in her performance.

Talking about role of nakusha, a girl who is damn beautiful hides her face behind ugliness is difficult job and hear from everyone about her looks which are not real as every girl wants to be beautiful but she did this difficult job for her mum's and for her family safety.Yeah she is a girl who fall in love with dutta because he protect her from morey and moreover respect her and befriend with her despite of her ugliness or looks but always tied between her mum and heart.
I agree with you...😊
Koel nakku is little bit more talk active than fair one because after the truth her and dutta's relation loses the the trust and dutta bring more rude and not talking to her for hiding the truth while she says she loves him most but didn't have the power to tell him truth. But in each of her face she cares for dutta and always prays to god for good, happy and protective life of dutta.

She made dutta understand the true meaning of love.In fact nakku is the one after bajji whom dutta share each and every thing but nakku can't do same with dutta as she never tell him her problems or may be it because of babi who never let nakku do that so most of time nakku is tied with her mum's words.
I agree...but Naku was also being a little selfish, she was afraid and not ready to tell Dutta the true...somehow she also lost trust in him and her Baba. I kind of think it is ok that Naku made a mistake or was not able to trust and open op...it makes her more real. I am kind of tied of this all this self-sacrificing, unrealistic and perfect women showed on tv.Thanks for lovely videos...Thanks for your comment 😃

Layers of Naku's character as someone else put it was there from the beginning of LTL1, it just was not given a chance to grow as the show took on more of a hatred role between Kala and Dutta and anyone else who came into his life. Koel Naku's character traits lost most but not all of the sherni aspects when Gori Naku's character took over, Why the writers and CVs did this, I did not and still cannot understand as it took some of the initial essence of the storyline away. So much of her past and character traits were left unanswered. Since this thread is about Koel Naku, all in all, still luved Koel Naku for her wit, love and caring attitude towards her own Mahale family, Dutta, Baji, Kishore, AS and her respect for the 3 sisters knowing their devious nature. Alex

Agree and well said Alex and thanks for your PM...😃

The beautiful think about Dutta and Naku was…black and white, tall and little, beauty and the beast…too opposite…but they are soul mates. They connected with each other with their pain and loneliness. They were each other's strength and each other's weakness.

You are right that the CV took the initial essence of the storyline away and that some of her past and character traits were left unanswered. LTL had some amazing tracks and I love where they took Dutta's character but because of "PS" 😡 many questions were not answered and some tracks...as we can read from the D-N The Eternal Story was ended differently and too quick.

I remembered one scene of koel Naku while reading the posts that almost made me chuckle. It was during the Sups era and the three witches kept calling for her...I think Kala wanted water but Naku wasn't wearing her kajal-wali mask and she didn't know what to do so she lathered on some turmeric paste or something. It was a funny scene except the witches began to make fun of her and ruined the fun for me. I don't know why this just came to mind but it did.

I don't know who to blame for the weaknesses of gori Naku, the CV or Mahi? I'm inclined to blame the CV because they've ruined other characters without the help of the actor/actress. Or maybe it was neither the CV nor Mahi, but Dutta who got so powerful and popular that he stole the thunder away from Naku/Mahi?

And on the relationship between Tasha, I have nothing more to say except that they were meant to complete each other...yes, that sounds filmy and cliched but it really was the case for them.

Ani, great post as always !

I too have not seen Naku's story before Dutta's screen entry so am not aware of it much either...but I always felt that the story kind of jumped from what I see. When it started, my friend used to tell me the story of this girl, and then she said hero entry and I thought OF COURSE lol...but somewhere along the line I feel like it flipped from being her story to his...her color was still an issue but it was underplayed with Dutta's role and character dominance...

Naku's character changed much throughout the show. Like the layers being peeled. There are differences between how she was as koel Naku to how she was after...she had a certain boldness, innocence, talkative nature and courage...at least in the presence of our sher...she even seemed more sensible and logical thinking in the beginning..in comparison to later. Maybe the idea was to show she matured...but basic characteristics don't go naturally..I would not blame this on Dutta at all and Mahi well I feel the character wasn't given the same consistency for her to give the same energy. Maybe life happened ?...she was tossed in so many different directions...getting entangled in a mess that in the process of finding her way out she lost herself...silently endured it all in hopes of finding the better light...i dunno her character is complex lol and i am typing on a phone..this is all i can manage ...😆😳

thanks for a wonderful post...

Ani my dost.. pardon me late in my response but you know I save my appetite for the main course..

As usual it's an appealing post all of it, brimming with lots of interesting facts related to Koel Naku. However Ani, I wish to touch on two points that draw my attention. The first aspect you touch upon is her appearance as seen by the world. This the first point of contact that makes us significant as a person. You cleverly remind us that every opportunity is taken by her mother to ward off attention to her daughters real beauty. Secondly Ani, what makes your post special to me is that you take us into the psyche of this girl in her teens who has to come to terms with literally defacing herself. You tease my mind to understand the trauma this girl may have suffered at the prospect of hiding an extraordinary beautiful behind a facade, especially at an age when youth has occurred and one is naturally inclined to preen, admire and extenuate one's face... you call her mother's soot application her face an "assault" , well said Ani it is an emotional assault!

It's interesting that you point out that due to this trauma of an identity forced upon her she tends to be withdrawn and prefers to keep the real Naku, her true self buried within herself.. could this be due to exposure, surely she cannot go against her inherent nature can she?..mind you Ani, makes me think that this withdrawal into a shell actually proves to be worthwhile ,as she can empathize with a brooding withdrawn Dutta..

Ani you also point out that koel Naku feels unloved during the soot application period , so once more could we then say that this unloved sentiment helps her to raising Dutta's self esteem, and thus she empowers him that he can love and be loved again..

Ani you have summarised beautifully the crux of Dutta and koel Naku's bond... I love the mention of the word "ownership" that she feels towards Dutta... may I add a shared ownership they feel towards a love that ebbs and flows.. but is there till eternity..

Thank you for the videos .. yess Ani they are appropriate to your post, but for me your fantastic thoughts are that maintain my interest.. so thank you my mate ..for a fine post.. much love xx hammie...

A Brilliant and insightful post Ani 👏. I thoroughly enjoyed reading it and each paragraph made me stop to think about the relation that Koel Naku and Dutta Shreeram Patil shared. ..and honestly, I couldn't put a definite relation bet the two...It has more layers than an onion...they had mutual respect, trust that somewhere developed into an easy camarader, ...and naku became dutta's confidant, sounding board and the mirror to his soul. He opened his heart out to her...scars and all.

My only regret is that she didn't trust him enough to do the same and reveal her painful past that lay beneath the soot covered face...IMO it could have taken the story to even greater heights..the taalab scene wold have been the best for all revelations...maybe a shorter but better story ending with MR still as DSP.

Sorry for the late reply...😳 being on a vacation and traveling has thrown my schedule for a six...but still make it a point to log in everyday ...but in short spurts
