*sigh* Hi guys! It's been a very very very long and terrible weekend - I've been sick for the entirity of it. Thursday night (when I was supposed to catch up on all the past episodes and write the TINs) I came down with fever and that stayed with me until last night i.e. Monday night. I have done nothing other than sleep and take my medicines (4 different kinds of pills every 4 hours *gag*) for the past 5 days and it has been HORRIBLE! *sigh* Which is why I apologize for not being around the forum much and not doing the regular TINs. I have just started catching up on the LTL episodes today and I'm doing the TINs as I see them - which brings me to the next thing. I have a lot of episodes to watch and I am still a little weak, so until I feel a hundred percent my TINs aren't going to be very detailed. Instead, I'm just going to cover the very main points that stood out to me. I know it's not nearly as satisfying as the actual TIN - ask me how much confusion "not talking about it all" is going to rake on my brain - but I am just coming up on the tail end of my sickness and I do NOT want to start it up again by exhausting myself too much. Believe me when I tell you, staying in bed for 5 days in a row without ever stepping out of your room unless it's to cough up crap is NOT fun! And I don't want to tempt fate again. BUT! I am glad to finally be back - aww man I missed you guys! 🤗 And thank you so much for all of you who checked up on me and pm-ed me. Trust me, it definitely put a smile on my face even when I couldn't reply right away.
That being said, here's the "Main Thing I Noticed" for the 03/30/10 episode - hope it's deserving!
- Throughout the episode, the one thing I found consistent was the realistic picturization and the absolute attention to detail - from showing the wedding preparations (which were interesting for someone like me who's never been a part of the culture!) to showing the "fights" between the maids over who's "superior" to the realistic "worries" about things going wrong in a "shaadi ka ghar" (Aayi Sahib hoping everything goes okay till the wedding) to the voluntary abstinence from food because of worries (again, Aayi Sahib not eating food until after the haldi). ALL of this seemed so real to me - it was nice to actually SEE the wedding preparations and to see the genuine anxiety in the family. Otherwise, usually the "family members" do nothing but dance and gossip at wedding in television shows. THIS is how weddings usually are - at least the ones I've been a part off. There is usually a lot of work, not enough food and way too many "anxious" people - like I said, realistic!
- So I know we are still placing wagers on Aayi Sahib turning "evil" but I really felt she was genuine in this episode - from the wishful smile on her face as she looks at the rangoli, you can almost guess what she was going to say next (that Dutta's life gets filled with colors). Even as she spoke with the "pandit" she had all the blessed items in front of her and she was genuinely worried about the wedding. I don't know if they won't turn her evil later, but if they do I expect them to come up with a DARN good reason after all this "genuine" behavior from her. Being a "step mother" is NOT a good enough reason in my books! This isn't "Cinderella" - I am going to hope high here and expect the creatives to be CREATIVE and come up with something that isn't stolen off of a Disney movie! Thank you very much.*hmph*
- Nakku and Baabi, this is one mother daughter relationship I might actually envy! They both know each other so well. Nakku knows how much her mother will be hurt by her pain and so she tries to put up a brave face as soon as she walks in the kitchen and all the way after that. She tells her mother she's "over" the guy, that she won't think about him - she wants Baabi not to be worried with regards to her. But Baabi is her mother and she knows better - you can feel Baabi on edge as soon as she saw Nakku in the kitchen. She even snapped at the "pirogram" maid about the haldi! But when Nakku tries to lie her way into being "happy" Baabi doesn't call her on it, even though she knows it's a lie - instead she lets Nakku have her "brave front" and tell Nakku that she's have a "happily ever after" too. *sigh* These two know each other so well - they know how they feel even as they LIE about it to each others face. Is it weird that I think that's just the most lovable thing ever?
- The Nakku we got to see in this episode was resigned to fate - she has accepted (or begun to accept)that Dutta was someone unattainable for her and she kept repeating that she was OKAY with it as though if she said it enough times it would turn true. And even as she keeps telling herself and Baabi that she's okay now and she's happy for him, you can see hear her resignation at her own happiness - she doesn't believe she'll ever get "married" or be "in love" again and I honestly feel she doesn't even WANT to. It's like she's condemned herself to a miserable life without Dutta - because a "not-so-miserable" life with SOMEONE ELSE would be more unbearable. *sigh*
- KAALA!!!! *deep breath* OMG! OMG! OMG! After a whole weekend (and 8 more days because of me not being able to catch up with the episodes and being sick) I finally get to see her! I cannot tell you how much her awesomeness was missed - compare HER presence to the mavali-Supriya presence and you'll see what I mean. For a whole week (before last) we got to see mavali-Supriya planning and "romancing" (gag-inducing) - I am just so glad to see a SMART "evil" person instead of a stupid one that makes me probe into my psychopathic tendencies (and wish that those idiotic-excuse-for-a-villian get tortured!).
- Was it just me or was something seriously going on at that dinner table? No seriously! I had to FORCE myself not to go back and rewatch that scene (you have NO idea how hard it is NOT to be "detailed") but something was going on. First off, I loved how Aayi Sahib snipped Kaala's joke in the bud - NO man from the Patil family hits on women. The end! I loved the finality in her voice - she KNEW this and this was something she wasn't going to stand against! Now we know where Dutta gets his principles! And what I loved even more than Aayi Sahib's strict reprimand was the fact that Kaala did not break a sweat. She NEVER lost her rhythm - it just looked like a caring daughter who was joking with her sister-in-law got "yelled at" by her mother. That's it! Kaala just apologized and smiled at her mother - her sole concern at that moment was that her mother not get upset about this. I love how Kaala can just maintain her poise and dignity no matter WHAT happens! NOTHING throws her off - *sigh* I'm awed. 😍
- BAJI!!! LOL! He loves to dance doesn't he?! 😆 Well, I love to see him dance - that was truely hillarious! Walking in with a grand show like that - only Baji could have done that! And he can read? Umm, wow. That was unexpected. I am telling you ksh - Harvard graduates work for Dutta Bhao! 😆
- And last but not the least, Supriya and her "sharmana" made me want to choke her! WHAT is wrong with her! Can she stop making "go-go" eyes at the invite and then imagine her boyfriend's name (I know that's is what she was doing!). And all this while she was sitting with EVERYONE at the dinner table?! KOI sharam lehaz nahi hai na! Who's the "low-class mavali" now - you and your boyfriend or Dutta? Seriously! 🤬
This was hard - I can't NOT see all the details. This is going to be hard, doing this for the next 5 or more episodes but I really don't want to get sick again or make this worst so... *sigh* Desperate times call for desperate measures.
