Ekta Kapoor is using her television clout to big advantage in her upcoming film C Kkompany. The film directed by Sachin Yarde (who has written films like Kyaa Kool Hai Hum and Traffic Signal) stars Tusshar Kapoor, Raima Sen and Mithun Chakravarthy in pivotal roles. C Kkompany is a comedy woven around the backdrop of the underworld.
Our source reveals, "Major television stars like Sakshi Tanwar, Gauri Pradhan, Hiten Tejwani, Karan Patel, Vikas Sethi, Ali Asgar, Rakshanda Khan and Shubhangi Atre came together for a sequence for C Kkompany." And what is the scene like? "Mithun Chakravarthy plays a don in the film. All these television stars come to meet the don with their common complaint", says the source.
And what is their common complain? "The television actors play themselves in the film and complain about the excesses they are subjected to as actors by their producer Ekta Kapoor", says the source. Ironically the TV actors bitch about Ekta Kapoor in a film that is being produced by her. Ekta, too, will play a cameo in the film as herself.
Also Karan Johar and Mahesh Bhatt play themselves in the film and appear as television show anchors, something which both have done in the past.
