Tulsi left KT with her thoughts to attend to the afternoon chores. KT had always wondered why only Bhoomi & Manthan were the odd ones out of the rest of the Virani kids, who were all very loving and kind but now she understood. She understood that anyone who supported Nakul or Laksh automatically got free admission to Manthan's hate list and no matter what they couldn't come off it. But then, Manthan had changed. He had apologized not only to the whole family but to Nakul & Laksh exclusively. It was another story that Nakul hadn't forgiven him thinking that Manthan had another plan up his sleeve but KT didn't agree with Nakul. She had always watched Manthan closely, only because she never understood his behavior, and had studied him enough to know that he wasn't playing a game with anyone now. He had changed, no ifs, ands, or buts about it. She smiled at the thought and hoped that maybe Manthan will also be a little nicer towards her too. KT frowned at the thought, "but wasn't he "nicer" last night when I applied that medication? He didn't say anything to me…infact…he said thanks!" KT smiled as she remembered the moment again. And unknown to her someone clicked her picture & captured the innocent look & smile on her face. "I love you KT," whispered the person as he lowered the camera from his face.

A week later…
Mayank was heading to his room in a rush when he bumped into Manthan in the living room. A small bag dropped from Mayank's hands and as Manthan bent down to pick it up Mayank said in a nervous tone, "Don't touch my bag Manthan bhaia. I'll pick it up." But it was too late as Manthan had already grabbed the half-open bag off the floor and smiled at Mayank as he held the bag in his hands. "What's so special about this bag that I can't touch it?" Mayank looked nervously at Manthan and then at his bag. "Can I see what's inside it?" Manthan proceeded to open the bag all the way when Mayank grabbed the bag from Manthan's hands and said, "It's mine. You can't touch it!" Manthan had caught a fleeting glance at the object inside the bag and had also managed a glance at the logo of the item but Mayank had grabbed the bag so fast that Manthan couldn't recognize or realize what he had just seen. The logo had looked very familiar but he failed to recall where he had seen it. Just then Baa made her way into the living room. Upon seeing her Manthan forgot about Mayank and went to help Baa walk to a couch. When he was satisfied that Baa was comfortable he turned around to ask Mayank about the bag but Mayank was gone. Manthan was a bit confused. He hadn't seen Mayank this nervous before. He decided to check up on him later. Just then Manthan got a call from one of his friends informing him of a new night club that had opened up but Manthan declined. His friend did his best to persuade him but Manthan refused saying, "I have a very special date tonight. And a night club is the last place on earth that I would want to take her to." As soon as he hung up he heard Baa calling him. "Yes Baa?" "Beta, who are you taking on a date?" Manthan turned to her with a smile and was about to answer when Tulsi walked into the living room fixing her sari. Manthan looked towards her and said, "There she is." Baa turned to see Tulsi dressed into one of her nicer saris. "Do I look ok?" asked Tulsi still smoothing her sari. "You look stunning," answered Manthan with a smile. Tulsi smiled at her grandson's response & playfully raised her hand to hit him. Manthan backed-up laughing just in-time. Baa smiled at the two of them and asked, "Where are you going Tulsi?" Tulsi sat by her saying, "Ask your pota. He came to me earlier this morning & told me that he wanted to take me out to dinner. I told him there was no need but he's very stubborn. Just like his grandfather." Baa smiled at her response. She was thrilled that Manthan was doing his best to make up for all the tears he had given Tulsi. Baa remembered her conversation with Manthan a few days ago when Manthan had expressed his regret at misunderstanding his dadi. He had told her that he wanted to get to know his Tulsi Dadi and spend more quality time with her. This had made Baa extremely proud of him for accepting his mistakes graciously and for making an honest effort to make peace with everyone. Baa came out of her thoughts and said to Tulsi, "So what if he wants to take you out to dinner. And have you ever heard of a grandson taking his grandmother out on a date? Kids these days are ashamed to be seen with their elders. You should be thankful to god that he's given you such a caring grandson. Tulsi smiled at Baa's words, "You're right. I should be thankful. I'm going to go thank my Thakurji right now." As Tulsi got up to go Manthan held her hand & said, "But dadi we're going to be late. Can't you thank Thankurji later?" Baa smiled at Manthan & said, "Don't say that beta. One should never wait to thank the almighty. He should always come first." Manthan rolled his eyes as his Dadi & Baa stood there smiling at him, "Fine. Go ahead but hurry up." Tulsi left nodding her head. Just as Tulsi disappeared KT came running down the living room stairs yelling, "Baa…you forgot to take this! Baa!" Manthan looked up to see KT rushing downstairs with something small & shiny in her right hand. KT descended the last few steps & halted in her tracks when she saw Manthan. She instantly looked down and put her hands behind her. She didn't know that Manthan would still be here as Tulsi had said that Manthan was probably waiting for her in the car. KT stammered, "Woh…Baa…Baa…" "Tulsi will be here soon. She went to seek Thakurji's blessings," Baa informed KT. KT smiled nervously and made her way towards the prayer room, making sure to keep the small package hidden behind her dupatta.
Tulsi was still talking to her Thakurji when KT reached the prayer room. As she waited for Tulsi to finish she caught Tulsi's last few words. "Please keep my Manthan happy. Give him all the love that he was entitled to and much more. Love will change his life forever for his own good and I pray to you to ensure that that happens. Give him so much love that he forgets all the pain from the past." KT smiled at hearing Tulsi's prayers and entering the room she said, "Don't worry Baa. He will have to listen to you & to make sure that he does I pray to him that may your prayers come true soon," said KT, folding her hands in front of Thankurji and bowing her head. Tulsi could only smile at KT. When KT turned back to Tulsi, she placed the small package in her hand & said, "You forgot this in your room." Tulsi looked at the package in her hands & exclaimed, "How could I have forgotten this?" KT shook her head & said, "Don't worry about it. You have it now & hurry up…he's waiting for you!" Tulsi laughed as they both came out of the prayer room & placing the small package in her hand bag she said, "You are making it sound like as if I am a young girl and going out on a date with my boyfriend." "You are young and to clear any confusion…you are my girlfriend," said Manthan as he had caught Tulsi's last sentence as KT & Tulsi had entered the living room. Karan, Tanya, Sahil, Bhoomi, Joydeep, & Laksh laughed as they too had come into the living room now. But they all stopped laughing the minute they heard Mihir's angry voice, "How dare you call my wife your girlfriend?" Everyone went quiet & Manthan's face drained of color. Mihir made his way down the stairs & standing in front of Manthan, he said, "Show some respect. She is my wife & your dadi, only dadi." Manthan almost went pale seeing Mihir's angry face and lowered his eyes to the floor and whispered a "sorry." "What did you say?" asked Mihir frowning. "I'm sorry dadu," Manthan managed to say with a dry throat. Tulsi was looking at Mihir with a very confused expression. She didn't understand why Mihir was taking this so seriously. As she was about to say something, Mihir turned to her & said in a lighter tone, "Tulsi, I can't believe your grandson. Why didn't he tell me earlier?" Tulsi was even more confused & finally said, "What's wrong Mihir? I don't understand why you are so upset." Mihir looked at her & then back at Manthan, who still had his eyes glued to the floor, & said, "Manthan, had you told me earlier that Tulsi was your girlfriend then I would have had a chance to get you a new dadi. I can't believe you didn't tell me sooner as on my last trip I met some very charming English women. Sigh." Mihir stood there deep in thought while everyone else stood there trying to absorb what had just happened. When Manthan looked up he was grinning from ear to ear & was waiting to see Tulsi's reaction but she still looked a little confused. Finally, as reality dawned on her she first widened her eyes in shock at Mihir's words then rolled her eyes shaking her head in disbelief. But the best after effect of the joke came from Mihir himself as he yelped when Baa took him by his left ear & asked, "So you are thinking of replacing my Tulsi with a gori mem, huh?" Everyone was in splits at the sight & Manthan was holding his stomach while laughing his head off. The rest of the family had made it into the living room by this time & they couldn't believe all that they had just witnessed. KT, still laughing, came to stand by Tulsi & held Tulsi's arm affectionately as Tulsi rolled her eyes once again. But she was thrilled. It had been years since the whole family had been this happy and laughing together. Tulsi's eyes filled with tears of happiness but before the tears could travel far, KT wiped them & hugged Tulsi. She understood what her Baa was feeling & she was happy for her. Manthan had noticed the affectionate gesture by KT and smiled. He felt something tug at his heart watching KT but before he could think about what had just happened, Mihir had pulled him into a bear hug laughing and all was forgotten in a moment.
