Mouni Roy plays Krishna Tulsi, one of the most important amongst the generation next Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi characters. The girl, originally from North Bengal talks about her new life in Bombay, her friendships and most importantly being the busy actress of a daily soap. How have you adjusted to your life in Mumbai? Staying alone definitely is very difficult for a girl in a new city. I have a few friends like Shivangi (Singh Chauhan, Balaji Creative Head), who helped me cope with the daily pressures. But with time, I have adjusted well with the pace of this city. Don't you miss the emotional support of your family? Like any individual I have also shed my share of tears. But in the end you have to accept the facts of life. I definitely miss my family. How well do you gel with your co-stars? Most of them from the new generation are from Bengal, just like you? All of them have been very good. We all have lots of fun during the shoot. It's like being with a new family. Tell us about your friendship with fellow bong Reshmi Ghosh who plays Bhoomi in Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu? She is a very sweet person. She treats me like her younger sister. I can count on her whenever I have to make any important decision of my life. What about the senior actors? They too have been very co-operative. They have never tried to impose their seniority on us. I never felt the burden of the big names like Smriti Iraani and the rest. All of them are always there to advice us when we are in need. How happy are you with your track in the serial? It's ok. I won't like to reveal whether I am happy or unhappy about my role. It's a huge show and there are a lot of artists involved in it. It depends on the track. You can't suddenly go up and say that I am unhappy because I used to be seen so much in the serial once. The story has to go on according to its story-line. We can't go on showing a face in television without any reason. I am doing my work, at the end of the day I am very happy. Do you think you will be as famous a Tulsi in the long run? I am not at the stage of my career where I can be compared to Tulsi. Smriti has put in a lot of hardwork to reach to this level and achieve this kind of popularity. I am still in the learning process. There's a long way for me for to go before I achieve that kind of success. How much is the character of Krishna Tulsi similar to you in real life? Many things are common between both Krishna and me. After all Krishna is also a normal human being. Like every individual differs from the other, even Krishna and Mouni have some differences. Krishna is a character made for the screen while Mouni is living a real life. Are you planning to sign other television projects sometime soon? Not at the moment. As I said, only one daily is taking a lot out of me. I can't even think of taking on any other project at this moment. |
