You dont need to apologise, I was stating those claims against MAKERS/ CVs who wanna showcase her as being Amrita Pritam and failing miserably. I am sorry that you misunderstood it, maybe should have used less frustrating terminology but I am hella irritated with them.

Amrit's character has been butchered even if they wanna claim she is being brave Ranjhan, because this is a time of action, not emotions. Strictly my opinion, but they are doing injustice to everyone by trying to elevate elements where they should not be, especially with Faruq-Amrit ka nikaah BS. Neither Amrita Pritam herself nor her characters from Pinjar or any other novels pretended to be brave; they were fine being themselves and escaping the place at any cost. If anyone wishes to draw a comparison, then
1. Puro tried to escape from Rashid's house multiple times, failed, later when she does meet her parents, they refuse to keep her in fear of inciting communal violence and that is when she gives up and marries Rashid, but she kills her baby with her own bare hands when she becomes pregnant because she hates the forced fate. She is not Hindu anymore and a forced conversion happens where Hamida is tattooed on her hand and later it helps her avoid the religious stratification.
2. Lajjo, her bhabhi, is kidnapped from the refugee road journey and trapped in a household where the man has abused her mentally and physically, that is why she is not willing to go back to her in-laws place, she has been scarred beyond recognition and belief, and she does not want to be a burden on anyone anymore.
