Chapter 7:
Neither had expected nor hoped to bump into each other like this. Standing in Dhruv' cabin after Rishabh left silently both watched each other without any one trying to make the first move.
Finally after a few moments but she left n went to her cabin.
After about 15 minutes Rishabh called them to his cabin n handed both of them a file n asked them to go thru it.
Both studied the file thoroughly n carefully as it was their first ever project for their company. It dealt with the concept of a huge live concert for the Indian crowd on the revival tour of the famous pop band Spice Girls who had reunited after a decade n where about to come to India for the same.
Mumbai was to be the venue n the famous Andheri Sports Complex was decided the location for the concert, Dhruv n chandni had to make sure that the concert was a big hit n take care of it.
As soon as Rishabh asked them about ideas for the same he was in a grave situation as he found out that the 2 people he allotted the job were poles apart none of their ideas matched nor do they seemed to like each other's suggestions, however being not let down he said: it's fine I understand u 2 have never worked together before so this is bound to happen no need to get discouraged it's alright. Do 1 thing take your respective files n think over it together n later on pls come to me I shall later see what's to be done.
Finally they agreed on something n went t their cabins to think about the project, both went over their files again n this time were also planning to pin each other down by coming up with a better idea than the other.
Evening after the tea break both went to Rishabh' cabin n discussed their new strategies, Rishabh devised the idea to fuse their ideas he seemed to like a few points both had suggested n on basis of it a collaborated report was to be prepared so that they might prepare a presentation to get the deal.
Neither seemed to like the idea of working together. Also since the ideas were merged so a solo credit was obviously out of the question which means no supremacy over the other.
Somehow overcoming a week's fierce arguments n rigorous sessions they prepared a presentation which was approved n they got the contract.
The week seemed a long period for Dhruv as owing to their new responsibilities the gang hadn't found time after the lunch to come together finally they met up.
After the newly launched company had got its first project which was so huge that their finally was a reason to party n the friends were together after what seemed like an eternity.
Everyone came in & was really happy for Dhruv n congratulated him.
Preeti hugged him n was so happy for him, he was too the same for her but yet asked: preeti tu mere saath kaam toh kar hi sakti hai na, yaar pooch mat kitni bakwaas company main fass gaya hu, you no what preeti my respect for you has gone up a 100 times after some recent encounters of the not so pleasant kind
(He was talking about chandni of course, which she seemed to have heard n was miffed)
Walking up towards a guy who was near a bar she said pata nahi kya samajhta hai khudko, if I had it my way to I would have shown him bas Rishabh sir ki wajah se chup hu.
The guy: relax chandni, pls take it easy hota hai, you can't get along with everyone n especially at work but you have to be strong enough.
Rohit was down with a headache yet he came for the party for Dhruv' sake. Preeti was enjoying herself yet cause of rohit was a wee bit worried however it was over when Dhruv asked her for a dance.
Preeti happily obliged n rohit saw them dancing happily while he had a glass of rum.
The two were obviously very much enjoying themselves, their friendship was always special n it showed how much the two bonded while they were laughing n giggling all the time when Dhruv was narrating the stories of how he is working with such a stubborn head.
P (laughing): bas, bas Dhruv ab mera pet fatt jayega haste haaste main aur nahi has sakti
D: I m telling ya itni khadoos ladki se main apni life main nahi milla lagta hai karela khake paida Hui thi u no I have actually nicknamed her Hitler in my mind.
Now preeti just couldn't help herself she stopped dancing n was holding her tummy having a whale of a time.
Later he pointed towards chandni when she wasn't looking to show preeti who he was talking about.
P: Dhruv yeh toh wohi ladki hai Na jisse tumne cruise pe kiss kiya tha
D (shocked n with his eyes wide): preeti tujhe kaise maloom hua yeh?
P: Dhruv no questions only answers remember I m Ur best friend n was on that cruise too alright Mr. Khanna
D: ok Ur right but I didn't know her then
P (naughtily smiling): aur phir bhi kiss kar liya?
D: oh common preeti it was a mistake warna yeh khadoos god!!! Ha thodi achhi dikhti hai par issme itna gamandi hona kya hai issme she's no Angelina Jolie or Aishwarya Rai
P: god tum ladko KO kya dikhta hai us Angelina main?
D: uh yeh tu nahi samjhegi iske liye 1 ladka hona zaroori hai he said laughing n later narrated the cruise incident to her completely.
Meanwhile chandni saw Dhruv with preeti enjoying, dancing with her n laughing.
She was disgusted with him thinking what sort of a disgusting person he was on the cruise with some other girl, here he is with someone else n is enjoying himself so much n besides he also behaves so cheaply(in her views) with all the women in the office always flirting n laughing with them.
Dhruv was incredibly happy about his work n also that he had met his friends finally. He opened up a bottle of champagne n partied hard all night with his gang.
Chandni was not much in a mood n left a bit early.
