Chapter 17:
A visibly long day was in its course at the office & while everyone was busy with their work the only person to be idle & totally alone in a complex comprising over 400 people was chandni.
She was really in a spot thinking as to how can she now apologize to Dhruv over her mistake, when her heart lead her the way.
Having had insulted Dhruv in public she felt she should ask his forgiveness likewise.
So interrupting the staff she came out with a long face & truly guilty heart & while Dhruv was about to leave as it was almost closing time he was stopped by her wherein in front of the staff just like earlier, chandni made a public apology to Dhruv.
C: Dhruv, Dhruv sir may I pls have a minute from you?
D who was ignoring her at first stopped after she said the last statement as he had neglected her previous 3-4 attempts whilst she called him Dhruv.
C: sir I have realized my mistake as to what I did yesterday & truly regret what I did. I was disturbed with my personal issues & was exhausted over the past few days so when I saw inefficiency here in my work I lost my temper, & somehow without thinking did what I shouldn't have.
My apology is not out of any fear of losing this job but as I know now the facts n understand I was wrong pls I ask u to forgive me. May be the entire fault lies in the fact that I became a taskmaster here to everyone & not a fellow colleague, perhaps I should have learned this earlier that to command fear may be easy to command respect is not.
I shd have been more grounded here with my feet firmly rooted rather than fly alone. I will even silently walk away from here if u wish to fire me, but pls forgive me.
A regretful chandni was glad to feel a reassuring warm hand on her shoulder as she stood there, preeti had dropped by.
Standing with her preeti gesticulated Dhruv to forgive her which he did.
P: chandni mujhe pata chala ki kya hua hai, galti sab karte hai par usse manna zaroori hota hai, tumne apni galti samjhi aur sudhari hai bas isse zyada kuch aur important nahi ok.
D: ok miss chandni I forgive u as u have truly repented & as I cant say no 2 preeti but I wont forgive a 2nd mistake if it happens.
A joyful chandni with teary eyes thanked him: no sir it won't happen again I assure you & I m sorry once again.
D: fine & I m no sir everyone here calls me Dhruv n that's my name not sir so call me Dhruv ok or u r fired.
All laughed out at that statement while chandni shocked everyone this event caused a lot of difference to her.
