Kumkum Wadhwa (Juhi Parmar) of the popular and long-standing tele-series Kumkum ?Ek Pyara Sa Bandhan goes in for a change from her domestic image.

She turns a cool, ruthless businessman who wreaks vengeance on Abhay Chauhan (Aman Verma). The serial incidentally holds the highest TRP's on the afternoon television slot.

The producer, Anuradha Prasad (BAG Films) admits, "The entire storyline of Kumkum has been completely changed. The entire fortune of the Wadhwa gets wiped out.

And behind all this lies the hand of Abhay Chauhan, who does this to take revenge on Kumkum.

Thus begins a phase of struggle, poverty and pain for Kumkum and her family, while they stand strong and face the hurdles of a commoners?life. The narrative takes a turn with Kumkum's fight with Abhay. It's a story of survival that the viewers can identify with. ?BR>
Adds creative head, Mohashweta Dutta-Dubey, "We decided to change the flavour of the serial for people to identify with. It's now about how the family comes to live a lower middle-class life. She faces defeat at every corner, yet is able to pull herself up to start her own business. In this, she is helped by the same women of the chawl who had initially humiliated her.

They help to set up her catering business, which mushrooms into a big enterprise. Entrepreneur Kumkum then takes revenge on Chauhan and restores her business, house, respect, glory and self-pride of the Wadhwa family. In the process Kumkum's husband, Sumeet (Husain) is sent to Dubai in search of a menial job.?BR>
Adds Dubey, "It's Kumkum's resurrection through small means. Every woman today sitting at home can identify with her.?The series shall reach its 500th episode on December 2 this year.
