Prologue - Chapter 3
First of all, I have to confess that this is one fic of yours that I was skeptical of reading because of the title. XD
Highlights from my reactions 😆
So the prologue starts with Daasi and Daadi feeling something is wrong. I am glad they trust Abhi in this matter and feel something is off though they proofs are saying otherwise. And just like the show, they are Abhigya shippers but they're having logical plans here (I assume so).
"Something like this happened in my village, years ago. This girl who was my neighbour had a misunderstanding and wanted to get her own husband married off to his mistress. But her mother-in-law -")
Why did Indu Daasi interrupt? I wanted to read more of what exactly the elderly ladies are going to plan. Okay, this must be Mina's way of teasing. 😒
First, his wife declared she could never love him, and he'd badly mishandled his reaction and actually slapped her. Then, before he could apologize and clear things between them, she had an overnight personality change and started causing discord and drama with his family.
After that, he'd found out that his (wish-she-was-ex-) girlfriend was claiming to be pregnant by him - and his wife actually believed her.
And worst of all, now his wife was hell-bent on leaving him and bringing the other woman in her place.
Abhi 😭 So much shocks and revelations in a short span of time. Hope he handles everything carefully unlike HIM.
"Don't you believe me Daadi? I could never lie to you about this. It's not my baby, Daadi. I think Tanu's not even pregnant! Believe me Daadi, I never went to her for - for that - after marrying Pragya, I wouldn't -"
Okay somehow I read it as Mina saying this instead of Abhi. I had to read it again to read it in Abhi's voice.
And then a hero walked in.
Hero? Abhi is already there na 😲 😆
If somehow things went really incredibly wrong and he actually had to marry her, it wouldn't be the worst thing in the world.
This is Mina's fic, so things wouldn't go incredibly wrong and Angad is wrong, it would be one of the worst things in the world (not for him but for me LOL)
Thankfully, Abhi seemed to understand, and didn't prompt her to finish her sentence. Instead he just said in an aching voice, "Seriously? Did I really -?"
Thanks for this! This was a much needed scene. Abhi had taunted Pragya, tortured her with words, treated her badly at times but he was aware of everything he did. This was something that he didn't know he did. I have always hoped that it's something that would have a very big impact on him if he ever comes to know of it. And now after knowing the incident here, it might make more sense to him about why Pragya is believing Tanu's pregnancy.
And I also like the way in which tension was rising up between the two leading to this confrontation. I read the kumkum moment twice. It seemed so powerful to me from Pragya's perspective.
"Look - I don't want to argue with you about this anymore. The next DNA results will be out in a few days, and you have until next week to - to prove your version of the truth."
Abhi is asked to prove something? 😲 Hope no one except Tanu suffers in his investigation *hiding*
