Res!
Unres, finally! 😊
So I was expecting the first date to go amazing, magical, whatnot...
you know, that never occurred to me? Interesting that the story did suggest that to you!
and I'm glad it wasn't like that. Because for someone to be in love with one person and be trying to move on by going on a date with another person should be anything but magical. So kudos to you for writing their first interaction from a relatable standpoint! 👏 Even with getting everything that she wanted initially from a marriage, it was a nice, but relatively awkward and overwhelming first date!
"It was new for her to be on the receiving end of a man's solicitude, but she could take it as a good sign. If she married Angad, maybe he would be a thoughtful and chivalrous husband - and that was no bad thing."
Pragya could hear herself described in Angad's wishlist. Everything he wanted, she wanted too, and despite all her conflicted feelings about the situation, she found herself feeling warmer about Angad.
Awww, these were probably the highlights for me from this chapter! Basically, she's never been in a relationship where the other guy has been there for her. Suresh was a great friend...but didn't want to be there for her for a lifetime. And Abhi...well you know lol. So for Angad to care for her and for her to notice it was really an aww-moment for me. And semi-depressing, because it also shows how insecure and love-deprived Pragya is. 😭
Unloved, yes. Abhi might have to fix that. Insecure, I'll see what I can do!
ALSO, this made me realize another difference between Abhi and Pragya. Abhi takes words more than actions-which is why he never was able to figure out her Mogambo being a cover, or all the lies that Tanu has hid from him all this time. It is still a current problem that needs to be fixed! Whereas, for Pragya, actions speak louder than words. Thats how she fell in love with Abhi amidst his tauntings throughout their marriage. And even here, her continuous observations of his gestures and body language seemed to ring the same feelings of how she scrutinizes people.
This is really interesting! I have sometimes been told that the key to understanding Abhi is taking his actions over his words, because he rarely means what he says but he always means what he does. Now if that's so, why would he not relate to other people in the same way? But I really think you're right, he doesn't know how to interpret actions and the unsaid as Pragya does. At least, show Abhi doesn't. Fic Abhi, hopefully, will prove himself a bit more capable 😊
Thank you for the analysis about her observations! I really like that point. Not something I deliberately put there but good to know what effect it created.
"Right by my side, I would hope," Angad said with a smile.
Awww, Mina, this guy better get a nice girl at the end of the story, don't leave him hanging! 😳
Don't make my job more difficult!!! 😲
So there were positives and negatives. Positives being his maturity, care, and knowing what he wants in life. Negatives that I caught were his traveling and his eagerness to start a family. I wonder how Pragya really feels about the latter, since she didn't really have a clear response to it.
She wants to start a family too, guess I didn't convey that clearly enough. Just this whole setback with Abhi, her marriage never being what she thought it would be - it makes her unable to answer such questions from a point of stability, you know?
What I personally missed was the child-like behavior in Angad. Not immature Abhi per say..but I dont imagine any future, cute nok-jhoks between these two like Abhigya have. She can't be free and careless with Angad, which is a definite minus imo.
This is actually really valuable to me as I work on bringing the story to a close, thank you for making this point! Indeed Angad is not like Abhi in that sense. But then I'm not so sure I can even write Abhi much like that, it's definitely a point of difficulty for me as a writer 😳 😆
And while he didn't seem too hurt about his past, it made me curious as to why...I feel like there are layers to him and maybe I'm over-analyzing him, but i feel there may be a little more to Angad than what has been shown in this chapter. Hopefully more positives? I'm probably over-analyzing, I'll stop😆
I would never want to stop you analyzing because it's really exciting and compelling for me to read! But yeah for the purpose of the story, we won't get to know too much else about his layers. He's not hurt in part because he's over it, in part because the circumstance isn't right for him to be vulnerable. Now don't get me thinking about how, when and in whose company he might be able to be vulnerable! I don't want to know this about him, because if I do I'll have to start writing a fic all for him 😆
I loved the realistic-ness of this chapter and can't wait to see what happens next!
Thank you so much Naina for taking the time to share such thoughtful feedback! Means a lot. Glad you enjoyed.! ❤️
