I understand why Pragya finally fell upon Abhi and held him as she cried. I understand why she took comfort in his touch. I wish that she had just a little more anger and pride, and that even in her grief she could have pushed him away. He doesn't deserve to be her solace, when he's hurt her so much. He has it so easy - he can burst out his feelings whenever he wants. He can act on impulses, he can sit passive. Pragya has chosen to hold back her own feelings for so long - whether for the sake of Daadi's plan recently, or Tanu's baby's rights before, or her mother's health initially. Pragya has the ability to control her emotions and take principled stances. She deserves someone who can appreciate and value that, and moreover who doesn't need her to do it on his behalf. Abhi doesn't deserve to be her Pragya's solace until he can repent for hurting her and understand the degree of sacrifice she has put up for the sake of his happiness and Daadi's wishes. That will never happen, of course. And Pragya is happy to get whatever she can from him. But I find it unsatisfying that Abhi gets to comfort her when he doesn't even understand just how much comfort she needs and deserves.

EDIT: When I made this post, I had not seen the scene leading up to the confrontation, where Daadi and Daasi explain to Abhi that Pragya isn't faking, and he then goes deliberately she proves she is. This was not included in the North American broadcast. And wow, does it make me even more upset with Abhi. How disgusting and depressing. You can say that there is some justice in the person who went to taunt her ultimately consoling her, but...that's not sufficient, in my opinion.

He is no GOD, though I have my own doubts on God also to understand woman's heart.
Pragya has always shut herself down in front of him but still he always tries to understand her, find her.
I would say, Abhi has come a long way, he can definitely reach there considering Pragya gives him at least one fair chance that he deserves now.

He does not always try to understand her. He is pretty selfish/self-centred when it comes to that, usually more interested in his own feelings than her hidden motives. He likes to present himself as God, too. Not lately, perhaps.

Well, no body understands her like how he does though she remains a closed book to him always.

Yes, she has bulbul dadi or whoever it is to understand her and are nice to her but she is not the same to them. She doesn't lie to them, she is honest with them and they can understand her.
But here for Abhi it's totally different. He has to find things on his own. She rarely speaks up and yet he tries to find out things and understand her. I accept he fails sometimes.

But then, she finds solace with him, she wants him, she finds it soothing to be with him. Acting pricey and avoiding him is not in herself, that too in that situation.

I totally agree she deserves a understanding, loving, caring man. But for that she should be honest to the man which she rarely is.

Abhi never shows himself as a bhagwan, just people treat him like that. It's their choice to love him and respect him like God. Pragya hold him high and he doesn't demand it from her, she gives it to him may be because she thinks he deserves it.

If he wanted to show himself as God he wouldn't talk nonsense to her yesterday. Not only yesterday but so many times he hurt her, he wouldn't do it.
He is man, an imperfect man.

😊 I already expressed my grief so many times about Abhi crossing all limits when comes to hurting Pragya and take it granted. So not going there ..Specific to the scene you have mentioned and for the sake of my own sanity, I am assuming Abhi is behind BB's disappearance and has put up an act to open her up and to force her to share her grief. He did not express shock by seeing her emotional side and melted down immediately are my reasons to think so.Other wise the words are very insensitive even for a terrorist.

Well that would be an amazingly cruel and callous plan!! For me, that wouldn't be much better from him saying these words from pure selfishness, which is what I think was happening! And I don't interpret him as melting from her outburst, more shock. Maybe it reduced his ego and temper down so he could act with basic humanity, but I don't think it actually affected him so deeply as to soften him. Abhi's very hard to reach that way.

Looking at the immediate context, I'm glad she got some solace, Mina. 😛
It was agonizing to see her "lose" her sister and get shunned by her mother. From Pragya's perspective, I'm glad she got the emotional support she did not get from her mother. Her mother disowned her and left her to grieve on her own. Abhi, however questionable his tactics were, was there to console her and not make her feel all alone.

As a viewer, I would have lost all respect had Abhi not found a way to be there for Pragya. What she cannot do with her mother she did with Abhi. She could not talk back to her mother. But she did blame him for this. That was a crucial piece of dialog she said. She couldn't save BB because of him. All said and done, Abhi is more accepting of her than her own mother is, in my opinion! I'm glad Abhi was there for her through this tragedy!! I don't feel that in a heroic or romantic sense. I'm glad he did what he did even if he taunted to break her defenses down and console her. 😊

Yeah, my issue is not with Pragya taking or getting solace. My issue is that she didn't have any better options.

I don't believe he was trying to console her at any point. In the end, when he allowed her to hold onto him and reached out to stroke her head, I think that was more on automatic than intentional. And I definitely like to see Abhi demonstrating basic human decency by holding a bereaved woman who has noone else, but I don't give him credit for anything more than that, and it frustrates me that he isn't better than he is.

I've just been rewatching this scene online in hopes of giffing some of Pragya's fiercest moments. And, what an unfortunate discovery for me.
