With Holi just around the corner, it seems to be the central point of every daily soap, and "Kumkum Bhagya" is not far behind.
We got in touch with Mrunal Thakur who plays the character of Bulbul in the show to find out about the special Holi sequence on "Kumkum Bhagya."
She said, "Abhi (Shabbir Ahluwalia) and Pragya (Sriti Jha) are back home safe and sound " hence the entire family has decided to have a grand celebration for Holi. The preparations are underway when Aaliya (Shikha Singh) realizes that Pragya is safe and coming back home."
So will we see a romantic angle between Purab (Arjit Taneja) and Bulbul? "Before the whole kidnapping drama, on the day of roka, Bulbul was supposed to kiss Purab, which never really happened. So now Purab is demanding Bulbul for a kiss. There is a romantic angle around it and a dance sequence, too," said Thakur.
"That's not all, there is a big challenge between Neel the contractor (Neel Motwani) and Purab to be the first one to apply color on Bulbul. Neel, who is obsessed with Bulbul, will come to the Holi party under the pretense of Holi celebrations and try to color Pragya's sister. However, Purab will intervene, rescue her and then be the first one to apply color on Bulbul," said the actress.
It seems like the show will be filled with lots of drama and chaos among the festivities.
Apparently when we spoke to Thakur, the Holi sequence was just underway. She said, "We are just shooting for the Holi sequence; in fact, I am fully colored right now. Everyone on the set is completely drenched in water and colored. I am just waiting for the shoot to get over and then we can peacefully play Holi on the sets. In fact, Aaliya, as in Shikha, started playing Holi a day in advance. Yesterday, she was spraying water on all of us during the shoot," said the actress.
With so much work at hand, we wonder if Thakur will get a holiday to celebrate the festival with her family and friends.
"I have never missed a Holi in my life. Every year we play Holi; I love the festival and I don't spare anyone, but we play with herbal colors."
We wish the actress and the entire cast and crew of "Kumkum Bhagya" a great Holi.
