ABHI AND HIS VOICE-5

A: Hey, Hello, where are you? Please appear soon. I have to talk to you.

V: Are you calling for me?

A: Yes! Oh so glad you came.

V: What's up?

A: I have to tell you what happened today.

V: Yes, please.

A: So, today when I went to my room, Fuggy was standing on the table, trying to reach out for something in the topmost shelf.

V: Okay.

A: And because I suddenly came in, she was taken aback and slipped.

V: And you caught her, the same old story.

A: No, it's not, well, yes, I saw that she was about to fall and rushed to save her. But you know she fell on me!

V: And she crushed you?

A: I thought that's what she wanted to do, but something else happened.

V: Okay, what happened?

A: Actually, it was me who got imbalanced too and fell on the floor and she fell right on top of me.

V: Oh!

A: And her lips landed right on my lips.

V: O-o! What did you do? Accuse her of trying to make use of the opportunity and kiss you?

A: No! That's not what happened. I kissed her.

V: You kissed Fuggy, Chashmish? Your wife?

A: I don't even know if I would call it a kiss. I mean just a kiss. When her lips were on mine, I felt otherworldly. Her lips were so soft and angelic. I just closed my eyes and felt myself being rejuvenated, as if I was free. I wanted to hold on to that feel forever. But that's when I moved my lips and her lips trembled and I held her head and kissed her for the longest time.

V: Oh, Em, Gee!! And then?

A: Someone knocked and she got up. And she said sorry for falling on me and that this should not have happened.

V: Oh No!

A: But the thing is, I didn't regret it. I still don't. That's the most beautiful thing I have ever felt. But, I have a girlfriend, do you think I cheated on her?

V: I think you are cheating on yourself.

A: What does that mean? You always talk in circles.

DOESN'T MATTER

"It doesn't matter" she told him.

He was expecting she would shout at him.

He was expecting her to cry too, because he knew he would cry.

He had told her how his girlfriend's parents wanted to get her married to him.

He didn't want to or mean to tell her he wanted her out of his life, but he knew what he told her wouldn't mean anything else.

But she had listened to him with a dead silence.

And the silence continued for ages with her staring at an empty wall and him at her.

"Are you alright?" he worried for her.

"I wasn't. But I am now" she said.

He looked at her with confusion.

"You remember that night? Our wedding night? I wasn't alright that night. I tried to be alright, but I couldn't. All I knew was I married someone and he was my husband. And I waited for him to come to me that night, to look at me, to talk to me, to make a promise to me, to ask me to make a promise and to hope for a life time of... ...But I figured it wasn't going to work out that way, very soon. I wasn't alright, that night, for a few hours. For some time... and then...I made peace.. Life forced me to make peace with it.. and I did... So, after that, how anything else would matter to me? Nothing would matter to me, you don't worry. Whatever you said won't matter to me. It really doesn't matter" she sighed.

And she walked off without looking back at him.

He could only wish it didn't matter to him.
