to think, why Nidhi cant keep her child and single mother?

Society is not as it was in 90s anymore.. Live-in s are readily acceptable now.😳

True, But still in small cities, its not common.. n it more difficult for the woman..
besides as Ashu says, he cannot acknowledge the child as his own...it will topple his entire life

I asked you for suggestions to improve the initial chapters...and you replied by asking me to write a scene that looks as if it has Ash-pallavi in it..but the girl is revealed to be Nidhi...

I perspired a lot while writing it

Yes.. Ashu is negative from the beginning.. but

why a woman cannot stand for her own wish... this should come from small cities

1)Nidhi is bold..but only up to a point...
plus being a single mother isn't easy..esp in small cities like Lucknow...

Even unwed moms living in metros like Mumbai face a lot of hassles..pregnancy... visits to gynaec...school admission...etc..Nidhi knows it and isn't bold enough to tackle it.

There are some gynaecs who will preach morality to her... school management may say that her kid will not "fit " in ...

Society in small towns is kinder to divorced women..but not unwed...

Kids born to people in a live-in relationship know who their father is.. society knows that too..but Nidhi doesn't have the luxury of naming the child's father...and society won't rest easy until they have a name

Rmember how Nidhi was harassed by docs in KGH after being thrown out by the management for affair with a married man - in PPW ... won't she be similarly harrassed.. won't her 'character' be questioned?

How long can she battle..that too without any support..isn't it much easier to choose an escape route?

2)People would question her about the dad's identity...what would she say..how long can she hide the truth from her immediate family...

Plus ..do you think this Ashu will give her a chance to become a single mom...never... he will apply subtle pressure and ensure that she eiither terminates the pregnancy or marries his best friend... that way things will be kept under wraps...he can't take the risk of Nidhi revealing the child's paternity ( some time in the future..after a tiff with him..or maybe during an emotional moment.).. Nidhi's marriage to Armaan is an insurance against all this.

3) Ashu wants to continue his relationship with Nidz...If Nidhi were to become a single mom then her movements will be watched carefully.. he will get into major trouble if he is accidentally spotted with his saali ( who is an unwed mom)..people will speculate that he is the child's dad--- risky again...

If Nidhi were to marry Armaan, not many eyebrows would be raised if he is spotted with Nidhi( though he would take precautions not to be seen with her)...or seen coming out of her house...

4) Ashu wants the child to be born free of stigma... have a responsible man as a dad..and have a happy childhood...he doesn't want the child to pay the price of Nidhi's rebellion

For all her declarations of 'rebellion'..Nidhi is emotionally tied to Ashu.. she wants to keep the child ( she feels strongly about it)..but can't bear the thought of breaking off relations with Ashu... she wants him...she isn't the "spurned lover" as Ashu never gave her any false hopes of marriage..so she doesn't hate him for not marrying her...

The most important factor is that Ashu wants to save his own skin.. he doesn't want the truth to be out... ever

It is not that women in smaller cities aren't making such choice... they are making it... but the situation is slightly different here...Nidhi loves Ashutosh..may be even more than her own child...so she doesn't want to antagonise him...she wants to have her cake and eat it too
