Justajoo
Chapter1
"Finally Mr.Mathur ne hum garibo ki taraf rukh kiya"
"Come on Adi...Satish told me that you have come just 5 minutes before.. late lateef... pehle toh late aathe ho.. aur phir seedha drinks counter pe chale jaate ho...and then you blame me for not talking to you..how on earth am I supposed to spot you?"
"Haan..haan..jab bhabhiji saath mein rehthi hai tab tumhe aur koi kahaan dikhayi deta hai? doosro se baat ki ya unko bhi meri tarah????????"
Pallavi blushed ... "Kya bhai saab aap bhi na"
"Sach hi toh keh raha ha hoon.. pata hai, yeh aapko har pal apne saath rakne ke irade se apki naukri chudvakar, aapko apne office mein hi kuch kaam dene vala tha.. phir maine kaha..beta..agar tu bhabhiji ko office lekar aayega, toh tera concentration business pe kum aur unpe zyaada hoga...and your business will suffer... thank God he listened to my sane counsel...meri iss advice ke karan hi Ashu aaj itna bada contract jeeth paya hai...so dedicate your success to me my friend"
Mrs Aditya Srivastava spoke up "Why should he dedicate his success to you? Pallavi is behind his success... inse shaadi karne ke baad hi toh woh itne bade businessman bane hai"
"You are wrong Ritu Bhabhi...Shaadi ke baad toh main sirf joru ka ghulam bana hoon...it is Anika who brought my success along with her" Ashu said looking fondly at his daughter who had gone to get another scoop of ice cream.
"Thank God isne Anika kaha..mujhe darr tha kahin ye Monica,Sonica..ya phir Komolika na keh de"
"Adi... main inn sab ko nahin jaantha..." Ashutosh laughed aloud
"Haan parr darr toh bana rehtha hai... bhabhi aapko patha hai..college ke dino mein yeh kitna bada kishan kanhaiya tha?"
Ashu mock-grimaced, "Main aur Kishan kanhaiya? humari toh sirf ek Pallavi hi hai bhaiya..."
"Accha...toh phir college mein woh ladkiyon ka jhund?"queried Aadesh Mishra
"Ladkiyon ka kya hai.. they go behind every handsome guy they find... you know what I am talking about...par main unhe bilkul bhaav nahi deta tha" Ashutosh added ..and tried to accentuate his already handsome features with a cocky grin.
"Bhaav toh tu sirf shares ka jaantha tha" added Aadesh with a wink.
"Woh toh pata hai. College ke dino mein Ashu ko models se zyaada apne business models mein dilchaspi thi" quipped Adi
"Wait a minute Adi... college ke dino me..? iska matlab ab maamla alag hai?..isse ab ramp ke models mein interest hai" Asked Aadesh in mock surprise...
"Nahin... abhi yeh model pati bann gaya hai"
Ashu nodded proudly and everyone laughed indulgently.
"Pata hai iske kaaran mujhe ghar pe kya kya sunna padtha hai...Ritu toh baar baar kehthi hai- kuch Ashutosh ji se se seekhiye.. etc etc"
"Haan Sapna bhi yehi kehthi hai... one day she spotted Ashu in a clothing store, selecting dresses for Anika..buss ghar aathe hi ramayan shuru ho gaya... aapke dost khud shopping karke apni biwi aur beti ke liye kapde lekar aathe hai..aur aap hai ki mujhe dukaan tak drop bhi nahi karte"
Ritu asked "Kapdo se yaad aaya...aapke woh designer dost Armaan Malik kaha hai?.He had promised to call me when the spring collection is out.."
"Armaan to abhi Bombay mein hai... I shall ask him to invite you for the exclusive preview..."
"The collection isn't out yet? Didn't you buy your saree from him Pallavi?"
"No...Ashutosh bought it from Delhi..from some upcoming designer's studio"
The men shook their heads and chorussed "ohhh..." Aadesh pretended to have a headache...
"yaar tu sirf saadi hi laatha hai ki foundation aur concealer bhi laata hai?"
"No..my wife has a naturally flawless complexion" Ashutosh was almost helpless with laughter...
"Here he goes again..." said the men...
Ritu and Pallavi giggled. The party continued. Pallavi sighed in contentment as she counted her blessings. A doting husband, a sweet little daughter, a good job as a lecturer in one of the most prestigious colleges of Lucknow and a social standing that a few could boast of. She beamed proudly at her husband, who was the center of his existence. Indeed she was lucky to have a very handsome and caring man as her husband. He had just started his own business when they had gotten married - in fact he had been reluctant to get married at that stage of his career, but had to agree to marriage to bring peace to his terminally ill father. Thankfully, her own income had come in handy in those early months of their marriage. But once his business kicked off, there had been no looking back. He had prospered and with prosperity came the upscale lifestyle, designer wear and jewelry for her and expensive gifts for Anika. He did not ever listen to her protests of not spending too much and savings. Economy was a word that had gone missing from his dictionary since a long time, especially where she and Anika were concerned.
"Anika..meri baby ne aaj kitna ice cream khaya" asked Ashutosh on reaching home, as he carried his daughter over his shoulders.
"three" said the little girl...
"par aapne papa ko ice cream nahi diya?" he said in a childish mock-hurt tone.
"Party papa ki thi... aur mumma bhi toh thi papa ko ice cream dene"
"But Papa loves ice cream only when his baby gives it to him"
"Ok papa...but now I will give you a kissy"
"Goody night wala kissy"
Anika nodded and kissed Ashu's cheeks
"Ok baby sleepy time" Ashutosh carried Anika to her room and patted her to sleep.
"Party acchi thi na"
Ashutosh looked at Pallavi with disinterest... he looked at her cotton night gown with particular distaste.. it looked as if it was designed to ward off the wearer's partner's attention rather than attract him...but Pallavi wore it often because it was very comfortable to sleep in.
"Where are the night gowns that I bought for you?"
"Andar hai"
"Kyun? kya unmein bhi tumhe bhagwaan nazar aatha hai? unki bhi pooja karne lagi ho kya aajkal?"
"Yeh aap kya keh rahe hai...woh daily wear ke liye todhi na hai" Pallavi added shyly...
"Daily wear nahi hai...night wear bhi nahi hai...woh night gowns toh beach wear hai...ek kaam karte hai...agle mahine Goa jaate hai..tum beech pe woh gowns pehenke jaana... perfect lagega... yaa phir ..agli baar mujhe jab koi award milega na, tab tum award function main unhe pehen ke aa jaana... saare log tumhari fashion sense ki daat denge..."
"Main abhi change kar ke aathi hoon"
"Koi zaroorat nahi hai" Ashutosh added acidly...
"do minute main aayi" Pallavi rushed to the closet...
"Why bother...it is such an effective contraceptive isn't it... I think the government should distribute such clothing as a part of family planning programme.. abstinence gowns... wait..did you pick it up from the contraceptive section of some supermarket?"
Pallavi smiled to herself... Ashutosh taunting her was nothing new...but all his taunts have a layer of love hidden underneath them...or so she believed...
"Maybe he is in the mood" thought Pallavi... "Of course ... he was so jolly throughout the party.he showered me with compliments... par unki zabaan...ek dum karele jaisi... par mujhe karela pasand hai..."
Ashutosh stared hungrily at the treat lying right in front of his eyes... hot and spicy ..just the way he liked it...
