I can't guess the mind of a writer Suvi di, but yes i think the next move may be - Ashu will wait for Mallika and her words with actions. And then react this time with a different approach to the feelings and emotions of Nidhi. Not that he loves her or has again fell for her, But for the reason that he has realized what went wrong before and shud have been averted. It's just what i think and may be what i want deeply in my heart. They have suffered so much so far, and now as the Destiny has started playing it's part, it has not make things falling without any reason. The time may have come. 😃

Mallika may play mischief once again, but Ashu will or may take over.
