I am Mumbaikar first.. Learnt Marathi even before Gujarati. 😆

See aunty, My mom was tamil, but born and brought up in Mumbai, spoke both. My father is from North India, so hindi. I spend some years in Hyd so telugu samajh main aata hai. Today one girl in my class came to know that I was from Mumbai, so asked me whether I can speak Marathi, I spoke to her and she is a very good friend now.
