Ashu knew the boy is dead, he knew there is nothing he could do to save him but he felt a sudden urge to take him away and do everything in his will to make him alive all over again. He wanted to mend the mistake he just did, he wanted a 2nd chance to make things correct but he knew he lost it, As they say "a moment rest upon the wind" and the wind just blew away and he left with never ending guilt that he failed to save this boy, that he is also responsible for the premature death of this boy.
At one point he felt barren, worn out and what not hopeless. He looked ahead to find temple which look abandoned. But he saw small lamp still burning confirming that someone come once in a while in this god forbid jungle .he dragged himself and laid that boy's body on footsteps .he looked at his face , he realized how young the boy is and he saw that he have thick black hair and a mole just below his chin .suddenly he remembered how this boy looked at him with a mixture of sadness and anger and then it changed , the eyes which looked so alive turned blank and he collapsed on hard floor as blood poured from his chest just near his heart . And it did not take much time for him to understand that boy is just been shot. He looked at his dead face for one last time as sob erupted from deep within , he wondered what must have been happened if he saved the boy..What could have been happened? Then he turned away as if to save him from breaking into pieces and .he moved away from the boy as thick fat tears roll down his cheeks and he moved away from that dead boy who seemed to be so young and nave who must be in his early twenties ?.he just moved away from him carrying a guilt bigger than life.
It's been more than 8 months since it happened but still ashu find it difficult to overcome the sheer force of guilt which always hit him in so unexpected situations. He feel vulnerable and what not hopeless for choices he made ?that boy's last look haunt him still .that is the reason he left lucknow , that's why he left KGH and agreed for a lecture position in one of most prestigious medical school .he thought by running away will solve everything but he was wrong ..Just so wrong.
He was still lost when his phone rang .To find it is from arman ?he sighed hard and picked up the call to find over excited arman in other end.
Arman : ashu , listen?I have great news for you !! me and neha found you a nice girl ?no no ashu don't interrupt in middle , let me finish
Ashu; arman , how many time do I have to tell you , stop doing this nonsense?I don't want to get married , right now I am just not into it ?not yet ready ?
Arman : Ready! What is there to be ready ..and tell me when are you going to ready after turning 50 ..ghaade you are 35 already , now shut up and listen to me first..
Ashu: no arman , I don't want to ..Am hanging up now !
Arman : yaar , you are the most stubborn person I ever saw ?.how can this be possible that frnd of this handsome hunk is still single and not ready to mingle
Ashu: wait a minute, who is this handsome hunk here?..shakal dekihe khabhi ???
Arman : now don't change the subject ..her name is nidhi verma, she is finished her studies and right now working for some NGO ?mill le , she is very nice girl !
Ashu : no arman , I am not going to meet any nidhi verma nor I have any interest to marry her?now will you please just shut up and get lost !!!
Before arman could say anything, ashu just disconnected the call and moved away with scowl on his face.
