As a doctor he is not justified too.

I agree here... there were a lot of things Ashu could have done differently...

1. Sent for an ambulance...
2. On hearing Mallu is unwell called for her gynac to Mallu's home and let the gynac decide where Mallu needs to be shifted.
3. Assign Mallu's responsibility to other doctors...
4. Acted calm and composed when Mallu was being brought into the hospital and not start hyperventilating himself...
5. Even As HOD I don't think he is expected to visit every patient in all the wards... so he could have limited his visits to Mallu.

Divya, its not about expecting her husband to "humour" her...its expecting her husband to "reassure" her and think from HER point of view for ONCE in his life. why do you think she stuck with him when Mallu was faking the last time? he even accused her of trying to kill his friend. why did she stay then? thats because, she saw things from HIS pt of view and understood that he genuinely trusts Mallika and she would need solid proof if she has to prove something to him. But when its now HIS turn, he is not even TRYING to see her pt. he just uses the word "childish" as if its some kind of slang.

Suja, the fact is Ashutosh's reasons for what he did were very obvious...although personally, I would have preferred Nidhi to have stayed away when she left the last time...maybe then it would not have come to this...but this is KPji's story at the end of the day...

However, in the present, the fact is Ashutosh is completely misreading the situation...he thinks Nidhi is insecure about their relationship...he thinks she is still being possessive and he finds that immature given the situation...unfortunately for him and her, that is not the issue here;...but, while she accused him of doing what he did because he was unable to control his paternal instincts, do you really think she will spell out what her problem really is even if he asks...I really wonder...neither wants to fall in the other's eyes! Hence the effort to get onto moral high ground!

its not just some other woman being pregnant and ashu showing concern...i don't think Nidhi's reaction would be so extreme if that were the case...its MALLIKA's pregnancy thats driving her to react like this. and if Ashu can't understand that fact...!!! and Ashu doesn't think Nidhi is being possessive...he thinks Nidhi is being immature in saying that his concern for Mallika is beyond just showing humanity. and it is. agree or not he DID cross the line. KP himself has accepted and said "if he is showing concern for his 12 yr old friend whats so wrong in that"...Ashu is not willing to accept that he has crossed the line. and thats the bottom line.

Very well said... Thats just it... it is not any 12 year old friend it is Mallika... and after the last time... even if Nidhi is plain jealous , shouldn't Ashutosh prioritize Nidhi's feeling as he promised her that he wouldn't let Mallika come between them again...

Of course if he meant by coming between that Mallika will not stay in MM.. then he is true to his word... otherwise... he has crossed the line... very very clearly..

If he can forgive Mallika so easily and if the only reason he went to help her in the first place is because Nidhi egged him.. then why didn't he listen to BB or Nidhi when they asked him to stop...

You cannot conveniently pick and choose what works in your favor... Why didn't he make another effort to talk to Nidhi? How is his anger right... if he knows that the only reason he is helping Mallu is for Nidhi then shouldn't he bring her on the same page?

How can - I do what i want and if you question me you are questioning my integrity, my character ? - work??

If I bring Mallu (Redeemed or otherwise ) into the picture then the answer is a clear cut YES... But like i mentioned in another thread considering someone who has never had realtionships, never had a home... shouldn't he be more careful to protect what he has... I can see the protective streak where Mallu's baby is concerned... but if this guy wants his own child shouldn't he be protective of his home and his marriage?

How can he casually say Ghar ujadta hai to ujadne do... What EGO??

Would anyone risk their security, their priceless home and their marriage for humanitarian (Again debatable... I think Ashu crossed this line long long back) actions?

Each time Mallu comes in the picture Ashu is butchered...

This reminds me of the first promos of KTLK where Ashu says about Nidhi... "Use saza dena bhi mushkil and maaf karna bhi mushkil" .. Today it is applicable to Ashu.. we love him but he is making us hate him by marooing such dialogues... 😡

Come on yaar...he has already said it enough times...that her possessiveness stems from her insecurity..and he finds that childish...I am not saying that he is justified in saying.that...just that he has made that clear in the past...yes, she would not react badly if this were another woman...but I wonder how she would react to Ashutosh's proximity to another child...am not saying she would be jealous but it is bound to remind her yet again about his suppressed desires...but she would probably not react the way she is now..

And about crossing the line, well that is a matter of perspective...it depends on the individual and the circumstances...and how you see it...I would have been surprised if Ashutosh had behaved any differently...he is the man he is...and she is the woman she is...and they need to figure out ways of accepting that and moving on rather than attempting to change or mould each other!

Nidhi was only the trigger...once he had made the start, he finds himself unable to stop...thus far and no further does not work for him...his humaneness does not permit that..

But it is sad that he is not able to extend the same humaneness when it comes to understanding his wife and her angst better,...

Like BB said, this is true of such men...don't we all know the story of the Mahatma, the Father of the nation, and Harilal Gandhi, his own son...!

Your question is very valid, Koyel...but this has been a universal truth...you look at history...you will find most of the do-gooders invariably neglecting their own homes and families..or disregarding their feelings and putting public or social good above their feelings...!

Nidhi knows her husband loses not only his heart but brain also over mallu. He cant feel or think when Mallu around so she is very well justified.

All this can be done. But not admitting her under Gynec observation in her hospital is medically not justified. Here he failed as a doctor. As a husband he is total failure. He is only successful as friend and he is offering friendship and personal care to a lady who made his wife's life miserable and almost killed her . He is causing pain to his wife and caring a criminal. High level humanity. Why he is not trying in Jail. He can work for criminals to bring in main stream Mallu as well can join there too for permanent redemption.

Koyel, the question here is whether Nidhi is justified...and my answer is, as a doctor she is not justified in asking why a patient should be brought to KGH..!
