There are two ways in Change Mgmt Process. Force the change on people or give them time to coup with change. Because human mind is basically change resistent. Always we should give enough cycle time for adoption of change which Sony/MB and PH are doing deliberately...

The way you pointed out, "I am sick I cannot work", statement he may not be ready to give because it is not 100% right. He is actually not effected by health that much. So many reasons put together have lead to this decission. So it is ethically wrong on part of him to give that statement so he will not give that though it calms down the people.

Another alternative is subttle way ... Not responding to the cries, he is giving time for people to accept the change

sudha, it wud have been better if had not updated at all!

Now I feel he has not read a single comment on his wall for the past 3 days!

If he had and still comes up with this kind of an ' update' , it gets worse👎🏼

Change Management is my favorite topic too... We do a lot of strategies in our work lives when we are rolling out a chnage and here , we all were looking at this show emotionally...

While to all the rational posters in here.. i agree.. that all are giving time to tide thru the pain.. n accept the inevitable... aka MBs exit.. !

However, i have just one small question... Wishing people good for studies.. MOTIVATING them.. by typing a few words.. (non related to the show) ... imho, isnt gonna make it hard for them to accept the change.. i feel it wuld only add to their love for him.. !!

Coming to change.. i can cite my own example.. Pavitra Rishta was a fave coz i loved Sushant as Manav.. i endured EVERY CRAP track for him.. coz i adored him... but now he has been replaced by Hiten ...who used to b a fave in the past.. but i still cannot accept him as Manav n so i dont watch the soap anymore...!!

I still feel that it is a PERSON who decides what they want...accept change or not.. !! Theories are a good read.. but i seldom feel that they can b 100% accurate (& this comes from a mba student)

Agree with you.. If think how we all were spending sleepless night on monday, I feel bad about myself. Being a working professional, handling lot of human resources issues every day, I just let my heart/mind take over my brain...

But thanks to this show and MB, we all have learned a good lesson
