Small Screen Breaks Age Old Moulds
Small screen has moved into a different direction these days. Gone are those days when teary 'saas-bahu' dramas formed much of the story of every other TV serial. Now, the serials are path breaking and 'hatke'. Moreover, social issues form the backdrop of many serials. Issues like chills marriages, mature love stories, Fraud NRI marriages, re-marriages and the like are being taken up like never before.
Sony TV's hit show; 'Bade Achhe Laggte Hain' revolves around the mature romance of a couple, Priya and Ram. Yet another show on the same channel, 'Kuch Toh Log Kahenge' too, is based on a love story of a young doctor in love with her senior. Other channels too, have joined the bandwagon. 'Star Plus' has 'Maryada' and 'Diya Aur Baati Hum'. 'Colors' too, boasts of the recently launched 'Na Bole Tum Na Maine Kuch Kaha' and 'Balika Vadhu'. 'Zee TV' has 'Afsar Bitiya' and upcoming 'Punar Vivah'
Small screen has definitely come of age.
