Hey Sauris! Welcome! Yes hopefully we can have some good discussions going here as well :-)

Ronit Roy...predictable choice😆...they also wanted him to play the lead role in BALH😆.

No I still think MB is the best choice for the role...he is older than both Ronit and Ram I think...the show requires an older actor than Ram for sure despite all his girth😆...as for Ronit, he looks a bit younger than I'd envision would be needed for this role...

MB has the most dignified air to him that is required for this role as per the original.

And think about it...both Ram and Ronit have played popular roles of older guys married to much younger women...Ram in KS and Ronit in KZK, Bandini etc. etc...

This role is different from that and needs something different.

That's it! The difference is too stark - how hard she's trying to be 'naturally bubbly' and how subtly effective MB is in emoting. KK has been good for her OTT acts because she's always had co-stars/co-characters which sort of level it out for her. With MB, the second she goes over, it becomes too obvious. The one reason Nidhi is better portrayed in the title video - KK doesn't have dialogue to facilitate trying too much - really works in her favor.

Yeah I was quite thankful that the heads didn't bump...wooohooo😆

😆 I guess that was supposed to be a dream sequence of nidhi; but I love the way he smiles; his dimple! haiii 😍 I also loved the way he brushed away the stethoscope while she looks ruefully 😆
MB seems to share great chemistry with ruksar too.
The sheena in DP looked older than Dr.Ahmer, more like his elder sis 😆 nedver liked her
Dr.Irfan was my other fav; I hope vishal gets to mouth wonderful dialogues like he did

Well we share sentiments in that case - not new 😆

No seriously, I'm pretty okay with the kind of actors Ronit and Ram have proven to be in their roles over time - esp Ronit in Bandini (for a while, that the show actually made sense) and Ram in BALH (despite the show making next to no sense) - but yes, MB is really the guy to be here. While there is the bright chance of being cast as a stereotype, if the CVs actually give him scenes and dialogue exclusive of this character, I think MB can be fantastic. And that , as he said, despite a sr.doctor role, this character is different, if the difference is portrayed right.

You know what we always said about how Gulaal managed to bring out those instances and circumstances which could only be typical of their theme and setting - that's what KTLK needs to do. They need to give Ahsutosh and Nidhi as characters some scenes and dialogues that come fresh - not like reused churned out versions from predecessors with older males and younger females. I think the huge difference of this show with similar couples before is the fact that no 'obligation' brings this couple together, so they have to fall in love eventually - rather the case reverses itself, they feel that strain of love et al, and obligations keeping them apart are what need to be tackled. So in a rudimentary way, they are a theme not really broached so far. That should be reason enough to get 'fresh situations'.

And I wouldn't imagine anyone but MB in this role. I think Ronit can insinuate more 'romance' than this character needs; and Ram, like you said, no, he's young for this role, despite the girth!

Here's what I think...I've seen all of KK's "bubbly" roles in the past vis a vis KMH and I've seen her in a more reserved role in PKB...she can act...but if you give her the bubbly brief, she will more than likely pull out her typical Arohi antics...that aside, I still think she is actually pulling herself back a bit from the mega OTT-ness I saw in KMH2...

Nidhi is supposed to be a carefree, filmy, kinda immature character at this point and that's what these scenes show I guess...writing and direction would play a major part as well.

MB is SUPPOSED to be reserved...that is the stark contrast in the characters anyways...

No offence but I think she was overdoing some expressions in the title vid also...wouldn't exactly call it perfect there either😆...but I take it all with a pinch of salt...

if u really want to see how KK can go OTT.. u need to see first months' epis of Kitani Mohabbat Hai season 2.. and u wud find the difference.. betn her overacting and natural acting..

I dunno.. i dont c her acting OTT.. may b coz i m used to seeing her act like tht.. in fact she has more subtle expressions here as Nidhi thn as Arohis in KMH1 and KMH2.. or even Pyaar Ka Bandhan on Sony itself.. I think she is much more into her role this time like Arohi1..😳

or may b i m partial towards KK.. 😆 as her role as Arohi attracted me to KMH in the first place and i find similar bonding with Nidhi as well.. 😳

for MB, I had expected more reserved and confined sort of acting from MB.. bt to my surprise, I cud appreciate him more in KTLK thn in his films..

p.s... I ditto with u thr Nureat.. 😆 I think in this era of OTT drama and expressions on TV 😆, Nidhi is quite into her limits and luks like any normal hyper girl of her age..😆.. Ashutosh will bring the much needed maturity in her.. and she in turn will pass on some happy-go-lucky nature to him..😳

Not perfect - lol - and filmy, as Tanu said 😆 I think I was happy with most minus the heart steth and the rose petals - so I gave her grace in getting majority right 😆 And oh, don't remind me of OTT classic from KMH2 please. I shall never forgive television, or bollywood for that matter, for their misrepresentation of Punjabis, grrr!

Anyway - yeh - good dialogues can go a long way, so can Kritika, with a co-star like MB. I said this before the show started, and I'll say it again, this could be her big chance to evolve creatively. A role, and a co actor like that. This is something like Neil's chance in Gulaal. Actors can grow, and I hope she will. Of course, let's ignore the difference of behind the scenes teams of the two shows for now, and be open minded 😆

I agree MB has done too many doctor roles but for me he is the perfect choice here.and both Ronit and Ram are busy with Adalat(which I love) and BALH(fan of only Ram-Priya,the rest nah) respectively.this role requires that perfect combination of sensitivity and charisma which MB can pull off,so my vote goes to him.

Nah, Mohnish is perfect for the role of Dr. Ashutosh, suave, simple, strict yet a softy, and responsible... Ram is too masti-khor for this role, he gets the naughty elements of any character beautifully, while Ronit has a flair for dramatics at times (or, just too much of acting in Ekta's soaps has its after-effects)... lol... anyways, this role needed a much more understated elegance and charm, which MB brings about perfectly !!!!!

I am liking MB in his serious doctor demeanour, but my only grouse is that he should be offered more varied roles too... maybe some day in future... 😎

And looking at the promos, where Nidhi is trying to prove herself as this irresponsible adolescent, not fit for a doctor's role... I wonder why would any person spend 5 years of their year studying for something, if their heart was not into it, ... I know she thinks she is a mis-fit for the role, but would love to see how she goes on to grow and accept this noble profession as her life... this story can be brilliant, if and only if, like you all said, the direction were to let go of clich scenarios and show something unique... anyways, for now, this show is def on my watchlist !!!!
