oh btw I saw the music video now... 😆 kaafi cheesy hai but i somewhat liked it 😆 I love the songgg!! yeah they could have made it less filmy n stuff...but I think the video perfectly portrays the differences between Ashutosh n Nidhi's character...

LOL that's true...it does portray the differences b/w the characters perfectly...but the stethoscope in the shape of a "heart" was a bit tooo OTT😆...the few bits I personally liked were the blindfold ones when he's giving her puzzled looks as she's trying to touch him and then smiling in bemusement and I liked the papers flying bit cuz of the way it was shot in shadows without any cliched "oooh hands touched" or "oooh heads bumped" nonsense happening.
The song is awesome...really hummable...gets stuck in your head😆

MB was very good in today's epi...in full form as the quintessential senior doctor...shades of Shashank...I especially liked how the beginning scene was handled from his end...nothing OTT...trying to handle the situation rationally/calmly as much as he could given that he was in a rush and Nidhi was busy creating a tamasha.
I agree. Today he was dignified and calm and in control. Dr. A was back in business today. Accha, do all hospitals have their doctors identified only by their first name? the nameplate outside his office was just Dr. Ashutosh! Dunno why I noticed it, but it struck me as odd.
Nidhi's reactions were a bit OTT...especially the hot buns/extra cheese/burger bit that she was blabbing about that I didn't really find funny exactly.
Ok. my pov only. She tries too hard to be funny and to portray that bubbly character. She needs to let go. It seems forced to me. She is ok, but she can do much better. trained MBBS doctors can be outgoing and fun, but all the hiding behind things, though in principle cute, I would have the same reaction as Dr. A. Also, what was she doing standing outside the room, looking in!!! What was so special about that room? The whole setup screamed manipulation to me, starting from the BG tune to her moving in, as if she was exploring some natural history museum! It didn't click with me today.
Anji's dad continues to be a carbon copy of the original...
And Ranganath enters today...Has Vishal gained weight?? His face looks kinda heavier than I remember...given the brief of the character based on the original series, I guess he was more or less what I expected...but he could work on making the character a bit more natural with that self-effacing charm...In some bits I couldn't tell if he was joking as he does about everything or if there was some kind of underlying pain/loneliness in the character that he hides.
I liked Dr. Ranganath. But I am sure some of the statements he made when he spoke with Nidhi might be termed borderline harassment 😛😆 . I also hope his character is given more depth and not just a means for comedy.
Mallika was the surprise package...given what I've seen of Sheena in the original, I think Ruksar was fantastic...I liked her much more than the original Sheena from DK...she lent more softness to her character...didn't look as harsh...I especially liked the bit near the air drying machine when Ashutosh withdraws his hands when she brings hers forward.
Ohh.. I am so happy she didn't stare at the ceiling even once!!! hahaha.. She also has a quiet dignity and if they maintain her character well, I can totally see her playing the grey character. I hope they stay clear of making her a complete vamp! Though I agree with LadyM here, they shouldn't spell out each and every emotion. Let it flow in the scene, instead of verbalising it.
The rest of Nidhi's antics in the epi were quite OTT...first with the way she was trying to "hide" in the briefing and then later on showing up at Ashutosh's office with the mask still on😕😆...I liked MB in that scene again as well where he calmly told her how ridiculous she was looking and even the "You" reaction he had when she finally took off the mask was well done.
Precap was good...Ashutosh asking her what the hell is wrong with her😆...I'm looking forward to seeing how their interactions progress.
Yes, Their interactions would be interesting. He already gave the best reaction of "You".. understated emotion .. well played by MB.
They do need to watch out for overusing the 'saiyaan' line every two seconds...don't make an overkill out of it. The bg music issues weren't too bad today.
I have a bad feeling they are just going to do that, overuse the tune and kill it! Since Dr. Nidhi is going to be working with Dr. A, every scene will have the bg tune! sighhh... though currently I am in the honeymoon phase with the song and enjoying it.

Dr. Sheena in the original was oh-so-fake. Like someone in our CC said, she was looking at the ceiling for better part of the serial. Ruksar is much better in comparison. Like you said, she brings the softness that this character never had. Hopefully, they don't turn her into a scheming vamp later on. One thing that struck me as odd - Dr. Mallika actually made a pass on Dr. Ashutosh. I know it is the first time we are seeing her character. But logically, Ashutosh and Mallika have known each other for 12 years. Did she need to spell out her preference for him like so in her introductary episode? Maybe it was just me ... but the line seemed a little forced. I wish the makers had eased into it gradually. It is almost like they are in a hurry to establish boundaries to every character.

Despite loving MB as an actor, I think I have had enough of him playing a senior, mature, with a soft corner -doctor.. he is brilliant, and probably the best fit for this role... and this is definitely the wrong time to even think of variety... but, I would loveee to see this guy in a different role... he has become Dr. Shashank for me like in perpetuity...
Agree with you about Nidhi's bun/burger lines...not funny... and even when she calls up Anjie the dialogue should have been cut short..would have had better impact IMO. I liked her dialogue in yesterday's epi better about why doctors aren't attracted to each other..lol..
@bold - You won't believe I was actually waiting for their heads to bump 😆 and then it did not happen and I was like yeah that is awesome no head bumping. 👏😆 Seriously I was like wait for it it will happen but it did not 😆 I did not like the rose petals and the stethoscope in the shape of a heart that was OTT but hey the song is very good. 👏

Accha, do all hospitals have their doctors identified only by their first name? the nameplate outside his office was just Dr. Ashutosh! Dunno why I noticed it, but it struck me as odd. LOL I guess only the doctors in TV soaps do *rolls eyes*...I think they use last names or full names otherwise. Waise another thing I realized while watching the epi on TV...thank god they didn't go with PINK uniforms and YELLOW walls a la CMG...lol...the hospital looks kinda more realistic. Remains to be seen if the medical cases will be shown with much realism...I have my doubts😆
Nidhi's reactions were a bit OTT...especially the hot buns/extra cheese/burger bit that she was blabbing about that I didn't really find funny exactly.

Yeah she overdid the wide-eyed expressions looking around the room but I'll blame direction more than acting there...they were lingering too long trying to slow down that bit...it should have been crisper...otherwise all the silly things that she's doing...wasn't Zoya doing dumb stuff like hiding behind his desk and all at one point too?? Nidhi isn't much of a change from that😆
I liked Dr. Ranganath. But I am sure some of the statements he made when he spoke with Nidhi might be termed borderline harassment 😛😆 . I also hope his character is given more depth and not just a means for comedy. LOL he said one line a bit creepily I think...so yeah even I'd say it bordered on harassment...waise I was thrown off by the suddenly serious way in which he told her that everyone else has been waiting for her to show up...doesn't that make you think there is more to his character than they showed with Dr. Iqbal in DK?

LOL true...he's like permanently become this image of the senior doctor in my mind...but I guess in this case, I can't really think of anyone else to play this role either...especially if you see the original DK you'll know what I mean...the character has to be an older guy and he has to play it with sensitivity...which I think MB has in him to do.
