And the accident scene was kinda similar to BALH meet between the leads.. How I wish they had directly shown Nidhi parking the car in Ashutosh's parking space and friction between them starts from there..😉
Bg scores, the less said the better. 😕

LOL yeah the accident scene is a very TYPICAL one repeated in every second soap...but oh well...seems like creativity is a dying concept on Indian TV in general😆

I guess they want to establish conflict before Nidhi finds out he's her boss...the car parking scene needs her to know who he is so she can steal his keys naa😆

I agree with your bits wherein you tell it was dramatic. Uh, yes, tearing out the curtain and banging in your boss's car - I am more bored than disappointed, actually. Besides, the BG music where the animal dies cracked me too but well, it was original so I mentioned it when I wrote the review. Goodness, new music in the background, even if rotten is such a relief. 🤪

I didn't find it rushed, I was almost uh bored in the midst of Nidhi's scenes here and there. However, yes, all the fleeting glimpses did sort of put it across incomplete but the show's still a lot more watchable than stuff around. The shots were also beautiful, nicely pictured thing. I'd say the beginning was cool enough to me, overall. For, it's been ages I watched TV in the first place and well, I like the lead pair, even the most efficient Indian shipping fan gals couldn't have come up with MB and KK as a couple, sorta. 🐷

Actually I don't feel the show is shot that well...the camera angles and editing doesn't seem that good...I've seen far better in recent times...but yeah I guess it depends on our own preferences.

Bg music seems to be such an issue for Sony shows recently...lol...BALH recycles all of the old Kekta soap tunes and now this show with it's weird screechy bg music in b/w...God save us.

Anu that is a very good review and I agree with you. Actually I was hoping to see Dr. A's back story but it just quickly went by and I was very surprised how quickly the scenes shifted. 😲

Dr. A's adopted father did not give him the house he loved so much and I was like yes there we go we would get awesome scenes from MB but they just made it into a few minutes scene and I was deprived of good acting. 😒 MB would have been extremely good in these emotional scenes but it was too quick to absorb what this character was feeling. I mean it is definitely very difficult for any person to accept that a person they considered their father just did not think that the house should be given to him. I mean we could have gotten such fabulous scenes from MB but alas I got a fast-forward history of Dr. A. 😒

I think there was way too much of Nidhi I mean she just got on my nerves and I ended up fast-forwarding her scenes.😒

Lets hope in the coming episodes the editing as well as the direction improves. They really need to slow down and let me understand the characters and what, who they are and not just fast-forward quickly. Overall, disappointed with the first episode but definitely looking forward to a better 2nd episode.

Honestly Keva, Dr. A was my only motivation to even get through DK...he's too iconic a character😆...the other characters were alright but his charisma was something else.

MB has that potential to make Dr. Ashutosh just as special in his own way but the writing doesn't seem that great so far and neither does the direction.

I find it amusing that sooo many articles came out with Kamlesh Pandey blabbing about how carefully he would script this blah blah...anyone can tell that this storyline with baba is a very core part of the show...then why was it shown so patchily to begin with? I'm not impressed with the writing so far...the dialogues weren't that great or very deep like they were in the beginning in DK...I honestly loved Ahmer-Baba scenes a lot. But sadly in KTLK, they didn't even give Baba-Ashutosh a nice enough focus...I would go so far as to say that MB didn't really look settled into the character of Ashutosh at this point.

I actually didn't have much expectations from Kritika in this role but to be honest today she was the saving grace of the epi to me...her and her baba's scenes were the few nice ones. She did alright given what the brief of Zoya's character is originally which doesn't require much in the beginning anyways.

Tell me about it.. that hit n miss was way too much.. tho i guess the call of TRPs to see RaYa together forced kekta mai to hit on the gas n pace it up 😆

Yep.. MB been my fave too... hv high hopes.. n m happy if not MBs scenes.. his chemistry is sparking off with Kritz! 😳

You have put it nicely ...very PATCHY & RUSHED beginning😔 !!
The performance, the screenplay, the direction everything was rushed.
I don't even want to comment abt the BG music.

Just a simple watch & forget kinda episode grrr
It looked as if someone was holding a gun on to
Rajan's head & he had TO PERFORM a SURGERY
(produce an episode).

I have just watched couple of episodes of DK & am completely
HOOKED :)

Nur, lovely post and very good discussion going on.Before I state my views I have to say in my defense that I haven't seen Dhoop Kinare.I have heard a lot about it but never got a chance to watch it.
I saw the episode and I liked it.yes bits and pieces were patchy as you said but that can be improved in the coming weeks.my only complaint is that Mohnish Behl was barely there.I wanted to see more of him.maybe tomorrow.Kritika is good and the girl playing her friend was good too.the relationship between Nidhi and her dad is also sweet.the CVs have the story so please now don't make a mess and stick to the original plot.

First episode of KTLK was simply awesome.Loved Kritika as Dr. Nidhi. and Mohnish Behl was superb as always.Nidhi's friend was also superb. In fact every actor did a very good job. The episode was also beautifully executed from start to finish.

This show is definitely going to be a leader in the 8pm slot.

Hats off to the makers for giving us something really very good on TV once again.

@Anu yes MB has that potential to make Dr. Ashutosh special but seriously the writing is bad at the moment. I mean the main focus of the show should be his and his baba's scenes/story but they were just not written well and hence they came out pathetically onscreen. Yes I love Ahmer-Baba scenes as well. I could totally feel extremely bad for Ahmer when I found out about him not getting the house but here just like you said it was so patchily done. I really have no clue what went wrong here because I mean everybody knows Ahmer-baba story is what makes Ahmer eventually dislike zoya so much it is so important. Eventually Ashutosh's relationship to his baba and his baba's relationship to Nidhi will lead him to dislike Nidhi so much and hence that is very important that they should have established this story extremely well. Oh well lets see what they do with the story in the future.

and yes THERAAV is what I was looking for in this episode but I did not get it.
