Dev is actually a lot more dependent on Sonakshi than he ever was

Right from S1 Dev has always told Sonakshi that he needs her for himself. He has always been an extremely lonely private person who is so bogged down with responsibilities given to him by his Mother that he almost felt suffocated. Only around Sonakshi he felt he could breathe and be himself.Even today during the champi scene, he says that you are my Therapy and that really is true and has not changed since S1. He does love her very much. The tricky thing is that unknowingly and unwantingly he puts all his burdens on her and expects her to adjust and understand always and that really is the root cause of their drifting apart. Since she has always been the stronger one in their relationship, he unknowingly has developed this absolute cluelessness as to what Sonakshi might be going through.. He is not selfish, but unaware.. He does feel bad when he realizes Sonakshi is hurt. In that way she is the only person who he can count on and I think that is the biggest reason why Sonakshi keeps forgiving him.. ( I still.couldnt have had I been in her place) But I guess that's how much Sonakshi loves Dev too!

While S3 is super boring, I hate the storynline and the awful editing of scenes.. the scenes jump on and off randomly..... but I have seen couples in Real life where one person is very strong and the other is very weak and somehow the stronger person always pays a very heavy price for the love of the weaker person.....

Just makes me think that pyaar karna, shaadi karna is one thing, but shaadi Nibhana for 30 years, 40 years,.50 years like our parents, grand parents do is really so great! Hats off to them!.

Yes. He seems to be a lot dependent on her for emotional support and peace.

Whereas whatever romance aspect is there in their relationship...he seems to handle that lol.

I completely agree. I had written this in one of my posts.

Dev's family is dependent on him for all their needs and Dev is completely dependent on Sonakshi for his emotional needs. Ishwari thinks, he talks only to her, but it couldn't be farther from the truth. Since a long time, he has never shared his innermost emotions with his mother because he doesn't want to worry her. All of that support came from Sona, once she came into his life. Their relationship is unequal because they both love each other dearly, but when it comes to 'Needs', Dev needs Sona much more. She is the stronger one, his anchor, his constant. So he expects her to deal with whatever turbulence comes their way. He cannot understand how Sona is not able to deal with something. He is not uncaring, but just has lofty expectations of her. He becomes unaware of her inner turmoil, but once he knows it, he does try to assuage her pain.

Every time, they were separated, he fell apart. Even during the name-change, they were separated in principle and ideas, and he completely fell apart. He just needs to recognize his immense need for her and help her be strong for both of them. I loved the dialog, you are my Therapy. Because in the case of Dev Dixit, it very much holds true.

She is his emotional support. Whenever she isn't there, he simply can't deal with the fallout.

Dev Dixit is the romance person!

Remember that statement from his confession "Ek acha insaan banena chahta hun. You make me want to be a better person. Sonakshi , Naam bhi koobsoorat hain aap bhi."

This is Sonakshi for Dev. He needs her. She is the one who brings in that required balance in his life. Whenever she goes away he looses his mind. Then every one around faces the wrath. His mother knows this truth and have seen it multiple times.

Vicky and co are really scared about that phase of their life . Its only because of Sonakshi , he got him back.

The present track, Dev might be friendly to the new girl but I doubt if he would have an affair with her. That is so unlike the Dev we know. There are certain things that we can vouch about people and when it comes to Dev he can never love someone other than Sonakshi.

Probably this track will help Sonakshi understand that Dev can only love her. She has always lived in doubt and had a feeling that she is his last priority. I cant blame her because Dev's communication is pretty bad. And he confuses her ,reason being ,most times he has to choose between his mom and his wife's decisions. That is like asking would you go with your heart or your brain. Confusion normally happens when there is conflict between your heart and brain..😆 and what he does is , he evades. The new girl is nothing but a friend or probably he sees her like how he sees Nikki..nothing more than that.

Now coming to this new girl, I have a doubt....I thought they were going to start a track where in a Elina is having trouble with one of her fan. Did they change that track and used the same story line for Dev??
