Is this a Dev bashing forum? - Page 3

Whoa what happened here! 😱

Personally, I love Dev's character, because he is so flawed and season 1 brought out so many layers of him, that it was fascinating. He is not picture perfect, and yet he is endearing. I feel I have defended Dev whenever I can and criticized him when the situation warranted that. I posted before that I don't consider his liaisons with multiple women during their 7 year separation as infidelity, because they were essentially separated and single.

As I have written before, I have a lot of complaints about the writing in Season 3, which I feel doesn't quite capture the essence of his character properly. Some of the initial episodes made him look terrible, and very out-of-character for Dev. Example: questioning why Sona went to meet her family. See that is totally not Dev. The way they're writing his bond with his mother is also not coming across properly. I blame the dialog writers for this. The way they are making him distant from Sona doesn't seem quite like him. Lot of inconsistencies.

I hope that the new writer understands Dev, his personality and would not make his interaction with the new girl weird.

I consider this forum to be a place where opinions are expressed. Hopefully that is the way it is intended.

Dev does terrible stuff. Blame dev or the writers.

We can't manipulate events in the show to always seem as if dev is the victim like so many others.

Maybe because I am not a shaheer or Erica fan I can see things without rose tintent glasses for one character.

I am not their fan also

Until last yr I didn’t even know those two actors , or any others ... I rarely watch ITV

I look only at characters

Can dislike a character , but there is a way to criticize if any one else disagree with our opinion

You don’t have to tell me instead you must ask yourself , if you find the way you react is right then it should be fine

Our views about Dev is diff , I agreed with the topic maker and stand by that .

I will say Dev is s Strong character written with such deeply running layer with a lot of negativity and short comings ... It is his flaws that make that character strong which Sha playing brilliantly .

B. He's also a toxic partner.

So you can call it whatever but I am happy people are pushing back against this. Too long have I seen glorification of male toxicity and I won't have it.

If Dev's bashing outside of the show makes you feel sympathy for a character inside the show them uhm well idk.

Actually rosh this is a big issue. Girls and guys grow up watching these shows. The glorification leads to people justifying these behaviours in the name of love.

You are an adult still sometimes you end up victim blaming. When I first watched it I thought dev was perfect and all wrongs he did were justified because he loved sonakshi.

This leads to people accepting such behaviours in real life. Someone gave example how their relative was just happy that their husband didn't beat them. Too low of a standard.

Such shows have larger impact

My children never watch ITV shows , they have no interest since I don’t watch ( the only show Kuch rang I watch on phone) nor do they know much about movies

I have to set an example to my children, nothing showing in serials are good for young adults or children

I read books with them, draw & paint and play with them

I can only guide my little ones not every one

This husband concept they show on ITV is out if my grasp , even the entire thing why females change initial after marriage it self I can’t understand my name remains same after marriage ... I had that freedom

I am only watching this show , since I find it interesting

and there is a way to agree and disagree

Bashing Dev the way it is done is really cruel ...

The language is being used ...
