Apologies for chiming in but could not hold myself back.

@ASHA2012 I completely agree with you that both Dev and Sonakshi made mistakes which resulted in their break-up, in fact just like we need two hands to clap similarly a relationship depends on both the individuals, it's success or failure depends on both, no two ways about it.
Now I might be wrong but the main point here is that While we have seen that both Dev and Sonakshi have made mistakes yet time and again it has been only Dev who has acknowledged those mistakes, asked for forgiveness and tried to rectify it but can that be said for Sonakshi, at least in my opinion its a no. And I guess for quite a few of us that has been her biggest flaw, to own up on her mistakes. Yes you might feel that we are prejudiced towards Dev and that's probably because we are able to see his efforts in acknowledging and rectifying those mistakes which at least I cannot see with the BOSES and that's my biggest gripe.

Now coming to the show being about different shades of Dev, I agree that's been the case but more often than not these shades have shown his mistakes, in no track he was shown to be MAHAAN but what it did indirectly is show Sonakshi as the all knowing person and MAHAAN.

Just my POV, no offence.

Asha, My two bits:
I agree with Shaavi on the Sona was wrong in keeping Soha from DEv part and I agree with you on the DEv should also have tried harder to track them part- so both are at fault here. MY grouse is this: DEv constantly admitted his mistakes and apologized but SOna did not.

MY biggest grouse is that even after knowing that DEv was not responsible for throwing the Bose's out of their house, another Sona nor the Boses had the decency to apologize for holding DEv responsible for something he did not do.

Dev was the only one responsible for the SOna pre- engagement breakup no doubt there and he deserved to be kicked for that tho I can understand that he was was so scared for his mother's life that he was not thinking straight. Even so, no sir, that is not an excuse.

But the post marriage breakup was more SOna's doing than Dev's. SOna fell for Vicky's tricks and somewhere it was bcos she failed to trust her Dev, she failed to simply give him benefit of doubt. But Dev never mistrusted her. Even when he saw Soha's birth certificate without teh father's name, he never thought that she might be someone else's daughter.

This was one aspect of Sona's that I find very unacceptable. Even in the epi where DEv forgets to pick up the kids, I saw Bijoy ranting at Dev putting him down IN FRONT OF THE KIDS. Then SOna comes along with a disapproving expression, a very telling tone and the statement "Acha hua main aa gayi", clearly conveyign to kids that she doesn't think DEv is doing a good job. Now these ppl made such a ruckus when DEv slapped Vicky in front of the kids saying oodles about wrong message and what not to do in front of kids and all. How come putting down the child's father in front of her is acceptable??

I hate double standards and unfortunately Sona has a few thanks to her father's influence. Bijoy is just using every possible chance to exhibit his barely concealed anger at Dev and Sona is becoming his pawn much like DEv was used by IShwari.

I too feel they are BOTH at fault in many places but ONLY DEv's fault has been highlighted in the show.

And Asha, the pregnancy matter, I completely agree with you. There is no justification for what Dev did. I don't agree that he did it for Ishwari. I think he did it to cement Sona's place in the house but it was unforgivable, no question there. Not to mention it was plan idiocy.
But the Jhoola thing, he never said anything to anyone abt it. In fact, he put up with it tho he did not like it. It was entirely Ishwari's doing, instigated by Maami and Neha.

Thanks for liking the post. Your husband is right. It is very difficult to sail with a wife like Sonakshi. Dev is doing a commendable job. But seeing him always toil hard to keep her happy hurts me a lot. Period. First Iswari and now Sonakshi... His fate is like that.

Ishwari and Sonakshi compliment each other so well .They help each other by sending Dev on guilt trips and in turn making him feel worthless without them .I would say Sonaksi and Ishwari atre two most toxic persons in his life .😳

Maybe Dev should maybe give up his mother and Sona and marry maybe soha's teacher with whom he flirted at the beginning of the season or the new nanny or Natasha who agreed with him on everything. Oh I forgot about Shreya with whom he shared a hotel suite for god knows how many days - shared as in they just played board games all night - silly me

@sp12, completely agree with you. My only complaint is why only certain set of people's mistakes were addressed and infact presented like crimes and certain set of people's mistakes as basic human errors. When you say all the characters are grey then show that balanced approach in presentation too.

Ishwari is a master at manipulating DEv through his emotions and she has deliberately guilt tripped him into doing hajaar things. SOna also managed to guilt trip him, but inadvertantly, she isn't mean or selfish. MOst times, she messes up bcos she is so focussed on getting Ishwari's approval or someone else's approval. I dont think she has intentionally hurt DEv but she HAS unintentionally hurt him many times over and after she found she found, she hasn't shown that she regrets it like Dev has done many times. That's why I feel she comes across as an unemotional rather robotic person, post leap.
I think this comes across very beautifully in the epi where DEv is unhappy about Jatin's closeness with his daughter but he dsnt want to pull them apart either. Shaheer was beyond brilliant in this episode, on a side note.

SOna looks at him after his struggle with himself about Jatin being with SOha when he cannot be with his own daughter and she actually feels for him and sees how the situation is killing him inside. She sympathizes with him and tells him that they are both in this together. That is SOna's nature. She is not mean but she can be incredibly blind sided at times and unfortunately it is always Dev who catches the worst of it.

This is the side of SOna's that I would want the makers to show more, instead of her condescending, "I know it all' side.
