However Lakshmi, I have a totally different take on what you said of the makers always wanting to show a mahaan or perfect Sonakshi. Storywise that is true. But if you see it in a different angle, you will understand the reason. It is totally my speculations and before going to it, I would request you to not misunderstand me, as you are a die-hard fan of Shaheer. To be more clear, my complaint is about the makers & writers. And all the actors have done all their part to the best, especially Shaheer, who have played Dev with high conviction that we can't even imagine any other actor as Dev.

So, coming to the point, if you go through the whole series of KRPKAB including S2, deeply, you will see the only character who got to play various distinctive shades is Dev. Starting from the Aubodhro Dev, then comes the romantic & blushy Dev during the courtship period followed by the stalker Dev, the helpless & confused Dev during the infertility & false pregnancy track, the impulsive Dev who slapped his FIL, the highly insensitive Dev during the first & second breakup etc. If these were the shades of Dev shown preleap, after the leap we see a totally different Dev - the Casanova Dev which didn't last long as he comes to know about Soha soon. What follows is a sinusoidal track between the soft & rude Dev during the picnic & Bose house stay. After that comes the Khatri track, where again we get to see a dumb & helpless Dev who couldn't do anything without Sona's help. Later the re-marriage track is introduced with a totally new Dev (even with a totally new costume change) who is full of swag and is determined to win back Sona; Once that track was finished, the guilt-ridden Dev was introduced followed by an obsessive husband track after the goons attack. Without having a complete or realistic closure on this track, we suddenly get Sona's pregnancy track where we again get to see a concerned & overprotective Dev who is determined to win the best husband title. And now this S2, where again it is all about Dev winning the best father (and maybe the best SIL) title. So, what I meant to say is that KRPKAB (especially after the first breakup) was designed to bring out the acting prowess of Shaheer. I am not at all against this concept. Because, as long as a show is not about supernatural powers, nagins, illogical things and are not running for years with the same concepts repeated, I am in for it whether it be for only the acting skills of the actors. But what pulled me to KRPKAB is their initial promos and launch-day interviews by the actors which gave a totally different view. And that is why I could keep my optimism till the end of the Khatri track, to the extent that I could even digest Ishwari's over the night change and had made a post to justify it. But, from the Dev-Nisha marriage track, KRPKAB totally lost its reality touch and that is when I started thinking for a reasonable answer for such a negligent attitude of the writers to leave every track half way and for showing Sona as a emotionless & cold person. And this is the answer I got. And if you see, apart from Dev no other character, especially among the trio, got an opportunity to explore various shades. Even for Ishwari it was either of the two extremes - a soft-hearted, loving & caring person or a dumb, selfish & manipulative person. Coming to Sona she was shown most of the times as a serious character with either a perfectionist attitude or a cold attitude. Except for a few scenes shown in the initial 100episodes & the recent pregnancy track where we could see that bubbly side of her and the emotional outburst at the beginning of the Khatri track, her character also didn't get much variations to do. So, I hope I could convey what I wanted to say. This is totally my speculations, mainly based on the PH's softcorner for Shaheer, the main writer's inclination of portraying the male characters becharas, in between outburst of Supriyaji of not being happy with her character and lastly the whole theme of S2 of showing Dev as a house-husband. I can be totally wrong and I really hope that, by the end of S2, I would be proved wrong.

Having said all this, I really appreciate the effort taken by the actors and the production team to bring back KRPKAB considering the viewers request and that is one reason apart from the kids that make me still view KRPKAB, though not religiously as earlier.

Loved your post. Don't worry. This die hard Shaheer fan took it in a positive way. I appreciate your analysis on different shades of Dev's Charecter explored by the writer to showcase Shaheer's acting prowess. Yes. I know only Shaheer got the opportunity to play different roles in one Charecter. I am proud to say he proved he is the best.

I made this post ,you know why? Shaavi always tried to inject positivity in me by saying the makers will definitely show the Boses realise their mistakes covered under their perfection syndrome. Especially Bijoy and Sonakshi in that order. But like always I am doubtful I am sceptical and I did not feel it is possible as I know how Indian Television shows function.

Day before yesterday's episode made me frustrated as Dev was again showed in guilt mode and become the target for every one. Bijoy and Asha irritated me to say the least. I came to the conclusion that they will follow the tried and tested formula by showing Sonakshi reach the heights of success and be the cynosure of the eyes..of her admirers off screen and on screen. The IF article that projected the show as progressive added fire to my already charged up mind.

Anyone may say anything but I am against Dev being the house husband. Why should he think he need not achieve more? What about his mother who even attempted theft to see him successful ? Why Iswari's emotions and hurt are not important? He can spend time with Subh why should he enter kitchen which is RR's territory?

Did Sonakshi bring up Soha without any assistance? Then why is Dev shown as the lone crusader ? Is it necessary?

Grace my write up is to make my dear Shaavi prepare for this kind of ending. But having said that if the makers show what she is expecting from them,I will celebrate then. It will be the victory for Dev Shaavi me and a few who think alike.

What you are annoyed with is what most of the viewers are annoyed with. Also most of the viewers are confused as to why the makers showed Dev as completely giving up his role/identity as businessman and become a house husband. My guess is because of 2 reasons. One is time. The other is viewer's mindset.

As we know they only have/had 6 weeks/30 episodes to close all the open tracks. Starting from Dev forcing Sonakshi to work for him to her actually coming to IN. Even now the mindset of Bijoy is that his daughter, his family have done a "favor to Dev and Dixits. That they are superior, better and in a way perfect' than them. Same with Sonakshi. She too thinks that she did a favor to Dev by accepting his love.

The other thing is the way viewers have seen this series. Most of the time the viewers easily accept Dev and Ishwari's faults and failures and say yes, it is like that only. But even when Sonakshi or Boses faults and failures are shown, because they are shown in a subtle manner, viewers find a way to justify that. Sonakshi hid Suhana for 7 years and lied. But the viewers justify her actions and say that Dev deserved it for saying get out. For hurting Sonakshi. Even during Dev remarriage track, even though they tried to show Sona jealous, no one really believed her to be jealous since it was subtle. The only way the viewers will accept Sonakshi as human and wrong is if they show Sonakshi to outright behave erratically.

The makers have tried to take up social issues. But the problem with that is there is one too many solutions and different groups will go with different options. Ex infertility or the lesser chances of pregnancy issue. Options are couple/family can go for adoption, in vitro, fertility treatments, in case the family is religious, then pledging to god something in return for the baby, different poojas etc. As makers they cannot really show one of these paths as that can be taken as THE WAY TO GO. Hope I am able to convey what I am trying to say. And it will seem like the makers are endorsing that particular option as the optimal solution. It is not about society at that time. It is about what works for your family, what you can afford and what you want to do. Hence when they brought up these issues, they showed extreme reactions from all the characters and didn't really showed them selecting one particular option.

But then a normal viewer saw it as Ishwari being insensitive. The message that the makers tried to give there was, as Sonakshi thought, it was not the end of the world. She had to stay positive and look for solutions. But Sonakshi is someone who focuses on problems and not really solutions. Not for herself. When it is others she very easily comes up with a plan of action. But when it is about her, she is not able to make any decisions. She keeps getting influenced by every Tom, Dick or Harry and is very indecisive in nature. She wants to please everyone so that everyone would like her and say she is never wrong. She fears approbation or censure of any kind. But life doesn't work that way. It is like Asha said. There is always a possibility that what we do may hurt someone. I may make a decision for my son's own good. But he might not think that way at that time and may feel hurt.

So as a solution to all this the makers want to create a situation where Sonakshi = Ishwari in every way. That she is the other side of the coin. When Dev married Sonakshi, Ishwari felt that she was redundant in Dev's life. So to avoid being forgotten, she did all those manipulations and also told a lot of white lies. At that time she didn't really pay much attention to all the negative consequences. Her only goal was to make sure her place in Dev's life was secure. Sonakshi did the same too to certain extent. But given that she was not all in, in the relationship and since she never took the risk of depending on him, she didn't really lose.

With the nanny, what the makers are doing is bringing a person who is parallel to Sonakshi's place in Dev's life. Meaning Sonakshi is Dev's wife and mother of his kids. Now nanny will be kind of filling that place. I am not saying that Dev will make her his wife. What I mean is she will be an employee hired by Dev to fulfill a personal need just like how she was hired in the beginning of the show. Just like how she took charge of the house, nanny will take charge of the family. Similar to Dixit family depending on her, the kids and Dev will depend on nanny. She will see Dev kind of repeating what he did with her same with nanny. Dev might treat the nanny just as an employee and the nanny might treat him just like an employer. But will Sonakshi see it that way. She is not who she says she is. She is someone who pretends to be that understanding, accepting, selfless and big hearted woman. Someone who forgave Dev for his last 7 years of indiscretions and also for everything the Trixits did. With this nanny, her core facade is being confronted.

When her very place in Dev and her children's lives will be shaken, where both Dev and kids treat her as disposable, where once she thought that "only she could do it", being done by Dev and nanny will Sonakshi still continue her 'saintly' way. If not, being who she is, she will not do anything direct. But will resort to lies and manipulations same as Ishwari. And that will be Bijoy's biggest failure. In yesterday's episode when Bijoy says that before Sonakshi Dev had problems and that Sonakshi made a man out of him. And from his perspective Ishwari has failed as a mother. He doesn't really have any respect for her. What will his reaction be when he sees that his daughter is an exact replica of Ishwari. That his daughter prefers lies to truth. That she doesn't mind ruining her life as well as children's lives to keep her image of perfection intact.

The makers are going all out and not showing anything subtly anymore. They are showing everything loudly, especially Sonakshi's and Bijoy's behavior. That too in such a way that even the most loyal fans are appalled by their behavior. Ex Tia. She loves Bijoy. But she is annoyed too with his behavior from yesterday. And her opinion of Sonakshi is very low now. In the end Sonakshi has to admit that she has failed as a wife and mother, that she is imperfect and incomplete without him, she also made a lot of blunders, that neither she nor Boses did any favor on Dev or Dixits, that they are not perfect and she has a lot of things that she needs to learn.
