These numbers are unfathomable and a dream for all stakeholders'' and even Yash Patnaik also had said something of this sort in one of his recent posts. So, either it is some back door game by the channel or there might have been some tiff between the channel & producers as an aftermath of the sudden shelving of the Sanaya Irani show in May.

@Red: Yup, maybe you are right. But then, it is so unfair to make the fans, who truly love their show, feel guilty for its closure. 😔... Now whenever I would open YT to re-watch the episodes, I would remember DD's tweet and feel bad. No matter who watched where, the audience loved the show and showered love on the show alike... If the channel/makers had their own reasons for closure, it is not right to put the blame on such supportive audience.

Never mind my emotional rant. I think I am becoming crazy..🤪

@grace, @tia, you both have asked and discussed some very pertinent and important questions...

The system of Television Rating Points (TRPs) have become outdated and needs a change and evolve itself to deal with the changing mindset of the Indian society... I hope that something happens in the near future regarding this, but until then, we can only hope...

I didn't know who Shaheer Sheikh or Erica Fernandes was (apart from Supriya Ji) when I started watching this show nor I ever watched an Indian daily soap before this show... I was never interested in the actors but what made me start watching this show on a regular basis was the story, its characters and the way the show executed its scripts as well as the myriad of subjects...

In short, it was the content which made me fall in love with this show... What nobody realizes that the biggest achievement of this show, is that it is able to attract newer audiences like me, who absolutely hate the idea of Indian daily soaps and make them see that Indian TV is after all, not so bad...

KRPKAB was successful in maintaining the freshness and the feel of the first episodes, till its very last ones...

Probably, this is why we had 32 weeks of Analysis Thread... In fact, we are still analyzing and dissecting the characters and the tracks, even after the show had come to its end...

This is probably what made this show so different from any other... I don't think that any other show has an Analysis Thread like the one we have here..

(You are free to correct me, if I am wrong... I am always interested in knowing about shows whose content had a similar pull as our show)

Sony will not realize what they have lost, at least in the coming 1-2 months, due to return of KBC as well as some new shows in which some famous TV stars are making their comebacks...

But, what will happen once the honeymoon period of these new 'ambitious' and 'exciting' shows are over? That is when, Sony might come to realize its error in judgement...

KRPKAB is probably one of the rare shows, where the quality of the content or its execution never faded away... Yes, it has its highs and its lows but I am pretty sure, that this show's lowest point is far better than the highs of most mediocre shows running 24 x 7...

As I am in the process of again seeing the first few episodes (and probably, re-watching the whole series... Will depend on my work and amount of free time I have on my hands), there are so many small, small moments which make me think about scenes that I watched in the second season, and make me gasp when I am able to draw some kind of parallel or connect the two...

It's absolutely crazy and amazing at the same time... In fact, watching the show from the beginning, sometimes make my heart melt and sentimental...

Been tied up in other commitments... Lovely thoughts here.. I cant stop imagining the lives of Devakshi❤️, Dixts, Boses and tripathis.

they left so much to our imagination . I like that in more ways than one.

Happy Binge watching to those who are planning to do that. I look forward to reading your thoughts.

Hi all

I know its been around 5 days since our favourite KRPKAB got over and we saw the last of Dev and Sona after one and half blissful years. I have been stalking IF and in particular this thread because I love to read all the wonderful writers on this thread like DQ, Suyash, Sam, Grace, Lakshmi and all others.

The main reason why I did not post anything is I feel (somewhat childishly I admit) that once I post a farewell the serial truly gets over... But that's the reality isn't it because from now on we would not be privy to the love that Dev and Sona share, their arguments, their differences, them making up and spending a cosy evening together, them bringing up their children together facing challenges along the way. What I loved above this love story was the fact that two leads were very realistically flawed like all of us. Unlike other serials where the leads (especially the female lead) is always right and righteous and courageous and what not.

Here both Dev and Sona were equally flawed and loved each other like no one ever loved before. I personally believe that heart of heart all of us want that special person in our life who would love us the way these two love each other. It of course helps that these two look so gorgeous together. I am amazed at the journey that these two travelled together from strangers to hating each other to becoming friends best friends falling in love- breaking up marriage separated for 7 years and then getting together for life.

In spite of the fact that the CVs/ makers goofed up on some major points especially relating to the tripathis track (mamji burning her own house etc) but even then on the whole it was a story well narrated.

I am missing them terribly. How I wish that someone would cast Erica and Shaheer in another serial together again.

Have a wonderful day !!

Love and cheers

Asha

HI guys..i have another question..sorry..i am rewatching the show from beginning and cant help..
So, in our show no one is white or black..everyone has sme shades of grey..and everyone suffered at one point or the other..
except for some characters..Vicky and Mami..dont you think they got away easily..
Mami and Vicky were successful in using Ishwari's insecurities against her own Son and DIL and they never suffered..😡

Can someone throw some light on their characters..so i can be at peace..😕

Please..awesome writers of the thread please oblige..😊

Calvin, Due to the abrupt ending of the show, the makers did not have enough time to show the right ending for that story. With the time available, the makers decided to end the show on a happy note.

If the makers had time, then there would have been a different path they would have shown for Vickky. And through him, a path for maami. In the episode with Sonakshi's muh dikhayi ritual, there is a scene where maami who called herself as GKB at that time, tells Sonakshi that she must of dreamed of getting diamond necklace. Sonakshi replies that her dreams were different and that were regarding getting educated and fulfilling her parents dreams. Dadi bua asks Sonakshi how much she earns. Sonakshi replies that she earns enough so that she doesn't have to ask for someone else to fulfill her family's needs and also so that she doesn't have to call herself GKB.

With time this is what the makers would have shown. That even with Vickky deciding to come back to IN and apologize, that remorse he is showing is temporary. Once Dev was being happy again and he had to go back to being the second hand citizen, he would have once again started his manipulations. It is like a the saying a leopard doesn't change spots. Like that a person's core character doesn't change. Dev might have changed his looks, started drinking and what not, but his core character as a smart, suave businessman and gentleman never changed. He was the same as always. And Vickky is still the same. His sense of entitlement and greed is ingrained in him. That selfishness will go nowhere. Especially now that he is back with no prospects and with maami saying we should start saving money. So what happens when he wants something. He cannot ask for allowance since he is now considered grown up. And as of now he doesn't have plans to take care of his family. And very soon he would once again become angry at having to be a charity case and would have done something to become rich again using incorrect means.

This would have led him down the path of destruction. With that the truth of maami burning her own house would have come to light. I mean even now, the keys of IN is not with the rightful owner. It is with someone to whom that house doesn't belong to. The story would have led to maami returning the keys to Ishwari/Sonakshi and admitting that she had earlier burned the house to gain access to IN. Also admitting that she is now realizing that she not only burnt the physical home to fulfill her greed, but has also destroyed her family(her home in real sense) with the same greed. She would have accepted that she has destroyed her own family and hence is not equal to Ishwari in any sense. The message that the makers wanted to give was that greed and selfishness will never do any good to anyone. That there is no substitute for hard work and there are no shortcuts for success.

Unfortunately, the makers did not have the necessary time to show this trajectory. But since this series mimics the real life closely, we can imagine that they would also run the same course as it would happen in real life.

@Calvin, I agree with what @shaavi says about mami and Vicky. To add... I think the fact that Vicky arrives in IN with a car seat aka safety was the best way makers could wind this up in the time they had. I.e. Vicky can now be trusted as a protector. Even after that, the fact that dev and sona took soha with them for ronita's delivery means they don't trust Vicky yet. Vicky has to win that trust back
With regards to arson and goon attack, I always felt dev knew about the arson. And when he realised how desperate mami was, he probably drew a line there. Before she causes more damage. Because he always reminded ishwari not to get fooled by mami.

Having said that, I always believed that mama was the biggest villain in the show. He kept fanning ishwari's insecurities and gave dev the wrong guidance. In the final few episodes, Vicky gives mamaji an earful. Mami and Vicky ended up like that because of the way mamaji had been for 30+ years.

My biggest takeaway from this show is that Dev and sona realise that they cannot live without each other. And so they decide to ignore everything else.

Agree with Shaavi and DQ.
I was one of those who felt disappointed for the way Vikky track ended. Ofcourse I know with the scarcity of time Writters did their best to end the show on a positive note. Still Mamiji and Vikky should have been given more space to elaborately admit their faults and ask forgiveness...No use of my rant I know. So I just stopped thinking of that possibility at all.

@shaavi your story of Vicky n mami seems really good and we really missed seeing this coz of abrupt closure. That track was very much required to show us the principles of natural justice taking their course

Something playing on my mind for the last few weeks... The narrators clung to their original plan. When the time to end the story came, he whipped out the last few bits that were always going to be the final shot. Dev would rather that mami and Vicky stop hurting his family now. It's more important for him that Vicky pays attention to Golu (which is what they showed us in those precious last few moments) than ask for forgiveness. Dev and Sona are happy to support the Boses and Tripathis (as evident in the last montage) so long as they are together.

The fact that Vicky-elena and Saurabh-Ronita are present but the sisters are not is very bold and interesting. The sisters are part of their lives when the occasion arises. Example Riya came for Suhana's birthday because it was a children's party. Or that the sisters came for Rakhi..

A very long PS: Looking at the lyrics, once Dev & Sona fell in love and did justice to their emotions, all other love languages started speaking to them. They have realised that without the life force of each other's love, everything else is meaningless.

My random thoughts below, that can be easily ignored.. I am just stating some examples of how these lyrics add to the richness of the story. Even if the makers had all the time in the world, the ending would be in a similar vein

Sona realises there are no fairy tales.. You live the moments when they are presented to you.

Yeh lamhein hazar se hote hain
Rang pyaar ke

Dev realises he needs to stop to smell the flowers. Stop running around...

Laakhon phool bahaar ke
Hote hai rang pyaar ke

Dev and Sona both went through two split-ups (If you ask me, when these lines were written they were written with one break up in mind!) and now they know that their happiness is with each other. Or else, they will keep inflicting pain on each other and their own selves. Once they were in love and they allowed their souls/self to drench in that love, they also started savouring other people's feelings. I am sure there are tons of examples... I only list a few that have been playing on my mind lately

Dekhe hai phool jo khil ke kabhi na khile
Dekhe hai dil jo mil ke kabhi na mile

Ishwari's love for Dev. Food.. She always loved feeding her family

Chulhe pe phulke sa phulhe

All of those memories. Trauma, dreams, hard work, sweat, anger... They remain suspended in their lives... However, they can now live past it. Look into the future.
Yaadein jaise hawa mein jhoole

Dev's beautiful bedtime stories
Raat ko lori ban

We have seem ample instances of Ishwari stroking Dev's forehead... All of this is speaking to Dev & Sona now when they are happy and secure in each other's love

Chupke se maathe ko chhule

Romance.. Beautifully depicted on the show. Like a little love note from his lover, that Dev carried with him that day for his meeting
Taanke hue shirt ke button sa

The way Dev seeks physical touch from his mother. The way Sona held little Shubh.. The way Soha and Golu seek love from their parents and guardians. That is all only possible when Dev & Sona are at peace and that happens when they are together.
Godh rakh soye bachpan sa

Sanctity of marriage. That both Dev & Sona ruined in different ways and are mending it
Haath ki laali sa

Sibling love

Kabhi laage dhaga resham sa

The sexual element of their love, but also all the way dev and sona the people are.. They are happy when their loved ones are happy. So it's all mila-jula. She was a rowdy 26 year old on Holi... he was an obhdoro 28 year old on Holi. Look what they became once they sprinkled all that love on each other.

Pyaar mein lipte kitne rang mile
Dekhe kabhi woh rang jo
Kabhi na mile
