So wat if officially Soha's name has not been changed yet...does that mean a parent can forget their basic duties towards their child coz their daughter is not using his surname. I just do not understand Dev is not obligated to share parenting responsibilities part.

They are not fighting a legal battle where Suhana's name become a matter of discussion.

Well, firstly I'd like to tell you that I've enjoyed your posts over the last few days. You do come across as a straightforward and no nonsense person. While I do not necessarily agree with all your posts but I like your conviction in presenting your view.

Anyways, coming to the episode aired tonight,I don't view that convo as a women empowerment lecture even though it might come across as one when we first see that scene. As you rightfully pointed out, there's no way anyone can question Dev regarding his support for Sona's professional career.Sona has clearly seen how proud the man is regarding her work.I think the convo today was just a cautionary one which points out to what generally happens in most cases like this. You see,a lot of females don't necessarily give up their job in an instant, they start giving less time towards it and they eventually wean away from their careers.I personally don't mind Sona's stand if she genuinely feels that working from home hampers her chances of achieving greater success. The convo can also be viewed as her POV in the sense that Dev's new setup of having her work from home hampers her prospects.

Having said all this,I agree that the dialogues could have been toned down to an extent.Honestly I wasn't really bothered by that scene coz more importantly we had Sona atleast speaking her mind out on something, which we've all been harping about since the last few days.

This is just my POV.I respect your views as well.

I guess she was trying to tell him the larger picture. Yes he didn't stopped her from working but she wanted her choice of working space. N she linked it with he success and working, which according to her she cannot achieve by working from home. N its not about women empowerment, but simple choice of selecting working place.

I am a teacher, i can take tutions at home, but i want to go out and teach in a professional environment. Meet people, learn, which may not happen at home. Yes people do work from home, but it depends from person to person.

N i completely support ur PS. Every individual irrespective of their achievements, career and even gender has an identity and it is not restricted to only working individuals. But in the show they were talking about Sonakshi and for her, meaning of identity is different, which cannot be genearlaised. But yes makers should be careful while dealing with these issues. Infact i have this problem when they took up Ishwari's case. But anyways, we can see it as Ishwari's perspective.

Now i feel even Dev will say, i am also working from home. That way we all will be together. 😆

Ps- The best thing was when he asked her to sleep till 12 pm. Koi bol de mujhe 12 baje tak sone ko bas. 😛

I found a disconnect with the story today. Vicky issue had played such an important part in their separation. They did not even discuss it. Not even acknowledging it. It would have been better if they had a heart to heart conversation about issue and it shud have been a step in regaining their trust esp Sonakshis trust on Dev. This track is not making sense.

@Astrix90 Regarding your point on Sonakshi being patient with others but not Dev, I guess what has happened is that both of them taken each other for granted, remember both after the reunion said that they will work as team so by default each of them is assuming that what the other says or does will be approved by the other without any question hence both of them not just Sonakshi but even Dev do not give much thought on what the other is thinking or understand other's POV else Sonakshi would have never questioned Dev about her career or for that matter Dev would have never interfered in Sonakshi's business meetings. The problem is both have taken have taken each other for granted and hope that the other will not question their decision.

Strictly my POV, no offence.

Thank you :)

Well that's exactly my point tbh. Dev is not stopping Sona from working. So this is not about woman empowerment. What Sona should have said is that she loves her work and wants to do it her way. It's her work which helped her stay sane and take care of their daughter when they had separated 7 years ago. She wants to do it her way and she can manage it just fine. She did it for all these years and she can do it all her life. The problem is that Dev in his paranoia is trying to micro manage her life and her work. This has everything to do with his abandonment issues and very lil to do with feminism and woman empowerment. The last scene looked random and out of context just for this one reason. I wish the writers focus on giving Sona more emotional and sensitive dialogues instead of lectures on social issues. If this track is about Dev's psychological issues, let's stick to that. Don't bring in social issues is well am saying.

I think Dev has done after beyond to prove he will be good father and probably will never ask rights to legally be Suhana's dad. He wouldn't have made a visit to Kolkata to feel Sona's pregnancy or build a speciality ward in Suhana's name if he didn't care.. I find that more unconditional!!! My argument here is more about acceptance and giving him the rights he deserves...just like Ishwari and Dev accepted flaws and brought necessary changes to welcome Sona into the family.. I don't see that change upcoming from Sona's front!! Marital and parenting Responsibilities comes with both legal and moral rights. Birth certificate is crucial document to identify birth/parental identity for a life time!!

I agree Dev's OTT behavior is overwhelming but I am hoping for a track of acceptance from Sona's end as well!!

Now that you brought in Ishwari, I realised I had the exact same issue with her track. They could have shown Ishwari running an NGO or an eatery or any food chain or just about anything she specializes in instead of making her go out and start working at this age. And worse she learnt to use all apps and gadgets overnight 😆

Well no one really cares about the eviction 😆 Sona hardly reacted and Dev just got more crazy after the revelation. It was only used as a plot device to throw Vicky out 😆
