Well that's exactly my point tbh. Dev is not stopping Sona from working. So this is not about woman empowerment. What Sona should have said is that she loves her work and wants to do it her way. It's her work which helped her stay sane and take care of their daughter when they had separated 7 years ago. She wants to do it her way and she can manage it just fine. She did it for all these years and she can do it all her life. The problem is that Dev in his paranoia is trying to micro manage her life and her work. This has everything to do with his abandonment issues and very lil to do with feminism and woman empowerment. The last scene looked random and out of context just for this one reason. I wish the writers focus on giving Sona more emotional and sensitive dialogues instead of lectures on social issues. If this track is about Dev's psychological issues, let's stick to that. Don't bring in social issues is well am saying.

Yup,you do make a fair point.
Honestly,it seriously surprises me that Sona is being given such ambigious dialogues these days which can be interpreted in multiple ways whereas that's not the case with Dev's dialogues. The dialogue writers of the show are still the same as they were before, which makes it even more strange.People can debate the quality of story writing on the show but as far as dialogues are concerned the show has delivered some of the most magnificent dialogues one would ever hear. The show still delivers fabulous dialogues but as you've rightfully said in your posts,it would be great to see Sona getting a fair share of those good dialogues.

They could have shown Ishwari running an NGO or an eatery or any food chain or just about anything she specializes in instead of making her go out and start working at this age. And worse she learnt to use all apps and gadgets overnight 😆

@Bold blue. I enjoy reading your posts and wanted to add my two cents for the above thing. It is about doing something outside your comfort zone.

Dev in the beginning of the series was indifferent with anyone he didn't call family. He didn't really think beyond his family. Sonakshi taught him to think beyond his family.

Ishwari was uncomfortable to leave her beliefs and understandings. But with accepting Sonakshi and trying the new job, she ventured out of her comfort zone and found that she likes it.

Sonakshi also has similar beliefs. She doesn't want to venture out of her comfort zone and try anything new. But here Dev is now questioning that and asking her to adopt to the change in the circumstances.

I remember this from a few years ago. I was born and brought up in India. So when I first came to U.S and had to fill out form and enter "Alien Number", it kind of felt weird. I mean we are also humans and not really from outer planet, then why are we called "Aliens". Similarly after becoming U.S citizens, now when I go to India, I am an "Alien" in that country. The term "Alien" for me is relative. It depends on how you look at it. And we as people are usually apprehensive about trying something that we don't know much about. Like a vegetarian will find it hard to try a chicken dish or a non-vegetarian eater might find it shocking to see a vegetarian(I have experienced this. I am a pure vegetarian and was asked how was that possible. How could I live my life without eating meat. 😆 ). Don't we tell our children to try new dish or someother thing,, but when we are asked the same question, refuse it and justify ourselves. That is exactly what they are showing. That right now both Dev and ishwari have come out of their comfort zone and accepted the changes. And Sonakshi is now being asked to come out of her comfort zone and do the same. She is being asked to become "Mrs. Sonakshi Dev Dixit" in true sense.

This is just my pov. Not intended to hurt anyone.

Well, firstly I'd like to tell you that I've enjoyed your posts over the last few days. You do come across as a straightforward and no nonsense person. While I do not necessarily agree with all your posts but I like your conviction in presenting your view.

Anyways, coming to the episode aired tonight,I don't view that convo as a women empowerment lecture even though it might come across as one when we first see that scene. As you rightfully pointed out, there's no way anyone can question Dev regarding his support for Sona's professional career.Sona has clearly seen how proud the man is regarding her work.I think the convo today was just a cautionary one which points out to what generally happens in most cases like this. You see,a lot of females don't necessarily give up their job in an instant, they start giving less time towards it and they eventually wean away from their careers.I personally don't mind Sona's stand if she genuinely feels that working from home hampers her chances of achieving greater success. The convo can also be viewed as her POV in the sense that Dev's new setup of having her work from home hampers her prospects.

Having said all this,I agree that the dialogues could have been toned down to an extent.Honestly I wasn't really bothered by that scene coz more importantly we had Sona atleast speaking her mind out on something, which we've all been harping about since the last few days.

This is just my POV.I respect your views as well.

Even I was happy to see the human side of sonakshi that I did not try to see the intricacies of that scene.
